This might be a good way to use up any leftover pennies, which a short while ago were removed from Canada’s currency, meaning if you buy something for 74 cents price gets rounded “up” to 75 cents. Maybe they should melt them down and make copper mouldings or jewellery. But would those “fly-deterrent bags” work indoors LOL.

KJ, the story goes that you hang the baggies in open doorways or windows to deter the flies from coming inside in the first place. I see Snopes has the idea as ‘undetermined’ on it’s ratings.
Our 1,2 and 5 cents coins have been withdrawn for many years. I see the coins are only copper plated, I wonder what is done with them.

I think that if I tried that in my apt. bldg. I might acquire the status of “NCM” AKA “non compos mentis”. Speaking of which *might have imbibed too liberally at the fountain* my Dorry is also an only kitty. Perhaps a virtual play date can be arranged for him and HRH. I’m not sure whether his lineage would be sufficiently upper crust, but he does have an Esq. after his name, Dorian Gray.

Good evening all. Cloud is being a booger. He goes into my sisters room and lays down on the floor and won’t move. When you pick him up he growls and grabs the carpet. I’ve been looking it up and he’s not outwardly aggressive so I don’t know what’s going on >.> it’s kinda funny but I know that animals are happier when they don’t feel the need to be territorial or aggressive.
That penny trick is interesting. Too bad most flies aren’t around anymore to test that.
I love that glass o cat. That’s the kind of wine that doesn’t require aging!
Found out that if I pass my Japanese class with a c or higher I can’t retake the class… I don’t understand… If I feel like I need more time and practice why should I have to fail just to get that… I understand that they need to give as many students as possible a chance to take it, but around half of the enrolled students drop the course anyway. I really want to learn it thoroughly…

Just taking a peek around the curtain to see what’s going on. Guess it’s pretty quiet, so I’ll say good night all! And as it’s tomorrow pm for jcat, hope your Friday’s going well. This time zone thing, confusing LOL.

    It’s 23:47 aka 11:47 p.m. MST here in Tucson and 6:47 a.m. in the UK 🙂

Just checking in to see how or what has been going on today, it was a sunny and very windy day here in Tucson, so bright blue skies with white floofy clouds rolling very quickly overhead. Which of course meant that I was stuffy headed and didn’t do much except to go to Popeye’s Chicken for lunch with a dear friend, Lynn. So will be reading some of the back threads to see how my fellow TDKer’s spent their day >^..^<

Can’t remember why they put pennies in the water bag(s), but those who have tried this trick to fool flies and other flying insects say it works 🙂

This uses pennies pre-1982, I will have to try it again as I used 4 pennies the first time I tried it and didn’t think it worked well. This short description says to use 7 pennies, I will try that tomorrow morning and see how that works especially since the weather (knock on wood) should be staying under 90’s for the next week or so.

The same person also wrote that apple cider vinegar works too.

I have heard of the apple cider vinegar too, but mostly to get rid of fruit flies. Never heard about it for flies. I’ve heard catnip in cheese cloth hung up works too, but I saw that on an infomercial and never tested it……

A cat poses in front of the mirror and then starts waving her little paws around to make sure it’s really her. Maybe she’s just so beautiful that her mind shut down

Great ideas for converting dressers into kitchen islands. Love repurposing projects.

    Kitty exercise!
Ohh my favorite part of a kitty growing up is their discovery of a mirror. Harry puffed up, side hopped to the mirror, calmed down, then as soon as mirror cats guard was down he was puffed up again. He also ran to me in the mirror.
    That kitty is gorgeous (:

One little panda cub wants to play, the other one just wants to sleep:

Awwwwww the pandas are rather cute. That’s the first time I have been able to see the panda’s eyes and not just the black fur around them, made them seem more real than just looking like a child’s toy.

Good morning Commune, I had just posted a reply to you but it disappeared and I lost the TDK link.
I love the vid, I would never have thought that a cat would take on a fox, maybe there is safety in numbers with cats.
How’s your day going so far?

Hi MS! “Nothing important happened today” as the late King wrote in his diary 🙂 It’s a grey November day here. How was your day?
