Winter is the best time for cuddling. One of the best ways to stay warm is with furry buddies. While we’re at it, let’s find out the history of Cuddle Up Day! Cuddling releases oxytocin. This hormone alone has huge health benefits. Besides giving us warm and fuzzy feelings, oxytocin reduces pain. So when the cold has made those muscles and joints ache, cuddling can help reduce those aches and pains. Oxytocin also helps reduce heart disease, reduces blood pressure, stress, and anxiety. If it weren’t free, cuddling would probably be covered by health insurance because it’s such a huge health benefit!

Hi Tim. You and TC are doing a fine job taking care of your mom. It’s hard to see parents decline. A friend’s mom was back in the hospital. She’s in the last stage of Alzheimer’s and now can’t walk so they admitted her to the hospital again. These hospital stays wear her out so they’ll move her go to rehab.

A nice breeze on a hot afternoon is great. How’s your grandson?

I never did understand why we think are for warmer weather.

I woke up this morning, had no idea what day it was and it took me about 15 mins. figure it out. We slept in the recliner again. Tonight, I’m going to try the bed.

I didn’t do so well with my kitty introductions. Miss Gaea (Matriarch) has finally accepted her brother and sister. She would like them to go away but I splained that wasn’t going to happen.

Oh, please don’t DIY, KJ. We remember, all to well, what happens when you do.

Miss Gaea is pulling herself across the carpet, got up and ran around the house. ???

    I’m going to sleep again.

    Have a happy~

    Pawsome theme PG!

No DIY planned, as I was slightly shook up when I nearly fell backwards off handy ladder! Landlady gave purrmission for me to get repair done or the thing replaced or whatever. So plan is a bit of research so that I can provide her with cost estimates. Very first world prob as I still have lights in entry and can probably survive without problematic fixture for a few days if need be.

I’m off to bed … purrhaps Dprry will oblige me with cuddles!

Nighty night KJ. It’s great that you have purrmission to see about entryway repairs and even better that you are not attempting it as DIY.
OMG PG, that ‘Don’t Ask’ pic had me wanting to pick the cat up and cuddle it. So funny yet sweet. Hope sleeping in bed tonight is restful.

LOL, Grandkit Ruby is a tad jealous of the baby at times and slinks on to Mama’s lap when she is burping Alex. Cute
Dinner was cold and delicious and now relaxing for the evening.

Relaxing Sunday here…but it’s beautiful outside. MS, our salad was cold and on the order of an Italian with it’s ingredients. Baby butter lettuces, red cabbage, chopped red onion, cauliflower, green olives, pepperoncini, oregano, garlic, tossed with olive oil and some vinegar with some romano cheese sprinkled on top. I had some hard boiled eggs on the side since I have lots of eggs from my oldest daughter’s chickens and needed to use them up. I love hard boiling them and having them for different uses. We love salads of all kinds and eat them year round…just saw a recipe for a cold orzo salad (greek) that I want to try!

PG, hope you had a restful nights sleep in your bed. I love when my cats sleep with me, and Willow is such a comfort. Trouble is, he is so big that if you need to turn over or move, he won’t and you are trapped and become his slave! 😆 So we end up fighting for covers and he gets mad and stalks off only to return to do it again.

KJ, good plan to call the landlady and let her deal with the fixture–we don’t need to be hearing of you breaking something on your small frame and needing hospital care!

For sure KZ. It just feels sorta stupid to say that I can’t change a light bulb! In any case I’ve spoken with 3 repair peeps, one is coming by on Tues. When I get an idea of costs, I’ll advise landlady and as she’s paying I’ll get the go-ahead. Might even be a plan to change the fixture in its entirety, but I’ll let repair peeps advise. I was able to change it previously, but centre pole is screwed up (pun intended.)

Nice here too, ‘cept when the wind factors in, providing a blast of cold. Home from gym and in for rest of day, also good.

Pan is noms including 1st coffee, knitting and breaking in my new Doc Martens, which is always necessary, seeing as they are quite stiff when new, guess this adds to the kick-a$$ factor. 😉

    Lord Commander! Aye, aye, sir

I’m here and feeling better. It’s a beautiful day-sun shining not a cloud in the sky.

KJ-The light isn’t a lamp rather an overhead building fixture. Many folks can’t change those either.

1st coffee? How did you survive the day? 😮

I’m going to watch “Bird Box” tonight.

Wanted to ‘bump’ on the topic of ‘BIRD DAY’ in the cafe as Tim updated us on his background. The reason I say this is that I can’t see this when I come into the site and don’t usually go to the FORUMS but to the RECENT TOPICS and I must be missing a lot of postings because there is such a short list these days.

    That’s how it is today.
KZ, your salad sounds so goooood. I have just icked all my green beans as they are drying out in the heat and we’ll be having cold sliced green beans with cherry tomatoes salad and cooked zucchini ribbons for dinner this evening. MMmmmmmm we have hard boiled eggs in the potato salad and mini gherkins.
I spent the day with daughter cleaning the washing machine and doing washing as well as getting cuddles. Also went to Mum’s to fix a window blind that refused to move up or down, mission accomplished.

    MS, that’s one cool cat!

And here I am seeking warmth!

PG, thanks for restoring my self-confidence.That %*^(*&P) fixture is way heavy and equally breakable. But when it gets repaired or replaced I should be able to manage.

I tend to reserve my coffee for a bit later in the day. And somehow manage.

KZ, seems that if there are a lot of threads the Cafés get kicked off. I believe that I mentioned this to KM some time back, but assume it has to do with the way the site is not set up. 🙁

Should be finished knit cowl early this week. Might enhance it with a removable faux fur pom pom. I buy them up when I find them in $$$ store and I have quite a stock.

Now it’s off to bed to finish the last bit of a really terrific thriller/mystery. And then to sleep.
