This is Billy, he is a 5 month old Maine Coon from Portland, Oregon.
Billy is my first ever kitten. I love him very much and from the way that he likes to curl up on my lap and purr, I can only assume that the feeling is mutual 🙂
Tom is the owner of 4 amazing cats, and using the Daily Kitten he provides a place for cat and kitten lovers to share the love for their own cats and kittens.
Billy is super cute! As someone who was once owned by a Maine Coon, I can say you will love each other forever! Maine Coons are loyal, and once they pick someone, it’s for life. Thank you for sending this picture!
Wee Mr. Billy is adorable! I love his cautious expression with that clicky thing. Congrats to both for finding your fur ever buddies.
City of Roses FUZZ
Billy is adorable! He looks full of cute mischief. 🙂
Billy is a good looking kitten. Yes, I’d say Billy loves you very much. I too have a Maine Coon cat. They are wonderful and devoted to their people. ^ ^
Maine Man FUZZ
Billy definitely loves his person. I had a Maine Coon mix once and he was loyal and loving to a fault. I hope you like giving cuddles a lot because he will want to be with you whenever you’re home.
Very cute! But chances are greater than 999 out of a thousand that Billy is female. It has to do with the genetics of coloration in cats: the gene for pigment color (red or black) is located on the X chromosome. In order to have both red and black fur, the cat must have two Xs. That rare case, in which a male cat could have two X chromosomes, is a genetic abnormality, in which the cat has XXY. (Some humans are XXY as well).
1) white is not a pigment, it is the absence of pigment.
2) grey or buff/tan are simply black or red plus another gene that makes the color “dilute”.
Have a wonderful like with Billy! (You might want to change the spelling to Billie) 🙂
such a little cotton fuzz! mmwaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
No wonder you love wee Billy, s/he is the prettiest, cuddliest, most beautiful little kit. I too think she is probably a girl with that ginger in her colouring, just check with the vet next time you’re there. Please give Billy a smooch from me!
I should probably add one more thing: the way to sex (determine the sex of) a kitten is to look under the tail. If it’s got a vertical slit, that’s female. If it’s got a little circle, that’s male.
Billy our 5 mo bud of a Maine Coon the OR Star-kit today on TDK!
Billy is adorable! I’m in the Portland area too… where did you get him/her? My kitty-kids came from the Cat Adoption Team in Sherwood.
First time fuzz love. You are doomed for life now, to love little furr’s like this one!!
