I need to come up with a new twist for a salad to serve during Holiday Meal this year. I found this BH link with 24 options. Does anyone have a fave to share too?

Found another one that I really like & it’s easy!!

This is served at every holiday dinner my family has had.

Grandma’s Tomato Aspic (tart and refreshing, goes well with turkey)

1 – 3 oz pack of orange jello (sugar free is fine too)

    1 cup tomato juice

    2 tablespoons lemon juice

    dash of salt

    1/4 cup onion diced fine

    1/4 cup celery diced fine

1/4 cup cheddar cheese diced fine

1/4 cup stuffed olives, slice in half

Dissolve jello in 1 cup of boiling water. add tomato juice, lemon juice,

and dash of salt. Place in refrigerator to chill til thick but not set.

Stir in rest of ingredients into thickened jello and transfer to 1 quart mold or

bowl that has been sprayed with pam. Let chill until set.

Lay out lettuce leaves on serving plate, cut around edge of set jello, and invert

on plate. Thump bottom. Should drop out fine.

Dressing if desired. 1/4 to 1/2 cup Miracle Whip, 1-2 tablespoons of lemon juice,

and sprinkles of paprika to desired taste. Mix and chill.

My mom used to make a frozen fruit salad similar to this:

Don’t have the original recipe but remember it having dark cherries & grapes in it!

I’ve had salad with craisins, toasted pecans, bleu cheese at a local restaurant and I love it! The craisins will give it that extra holiday flavor. Adding some mandarin orange segments may taste good in it also. Sounds like a yummy choice for Christmas dinner. Grandma’s Tomato Aspic sounds deeeelicious!!! I am definately going to consider trying that one.
