Gabby has been feeling much bettr, as well as EJ! But Gabby has finally discovered the floor length curtains and she climbed alll the ay up them then cried until we could get her down. She kept doing it over… and over again. So we moved the couch in frint of the window now she just runs on the couch and leaps onto the curtains! How do I get her to stop before she ruins my curtains?? Lol!

How old is Gabby again? Maybe trimming her nails would discourage her, shaking a small container with a couple of pennies in it to make noise when she starts to do it would convince her hmmm nope this isn’t what I should be doing. Are the windows open so she can see outside?

She is 8 weeks, she is atarting to learn all her abilities as a cat, if that makes sense lol. No the windows arent open, I dont want them to go near the windows or door, we live in a townhouse where cars come and go all the time so i dont want them to want to go outside. Even though that their instinct is to want to go outside. Lol.

My cat is 7 weeks old and he also likes to climb curtains. Try having lots of toys for Gabby to play with to distract her and make sure that, for example the couch, there is more places for her to climb on and get higher. Clipping the nails will defnitely help with saving your curtains. Also give her a post to scratch her nails on. Hope this helps!

The Scccaaaat device might work or try putting carpet protector wiht the nibs up in front of the curtains.

When my Emily (our first cat) started experimenting with climbing the curtains, we quickly researched and purchased a cat tree. That met her climbing needs and neither she or any of our other cats climbs the curtains now. I’m sure not everyone has such immediate results, but we did.

I looked for a cat tree with an unobstructed central post that they can climb like a tree trunk.

    Good luck.

Try distracting her with a laser pen! If she is chasing the little red dot, she isn’t on the curtains.

If you can do without the curtains for a few weeks, try removing them. If they aren’t there, she can’t climb on them. When she gets a little older, she’ll calm down and she will have found other things to substitute for the curtains.
