Milo was not being a very good litter box user, so I switched them from pine to scented clay.

Bobby has had watery eyes and his third eyelid in one eye is up a bit. He’s energetic and eats normal – do you guys think the litter could be irritating his eyes?

GD, it could be the scent……….. I use the ‘plain’ clay litter non-scented… Cuddles tends to have reactions to stuff, and this has worked well for her…….. try the non-scented kind……….. Sams’ Club sells it in HUGE bags, or Walmart’s brand is good too……….. it’s cheap, and I change it out every week……….

Awww, I think it could be. We use unscented and have worked at finding the least dusty one we can. Cat’s Pride Fresh and Light (unscented, scoopable) is pretty low dust and Dr. Elseys Precious Cat (unscented, scoopable) is low dust.

Scented will give a lot of cats an allergic reaction. The Fresh & Light is not good at odor control and still has some dust. I like World’s Best for dust-free.

For Milo try the Cat Attract full strength then mix it slowly into regular litter.

I’ve used pine for years, but Mi was only using it to pee :/

And it’s not the best for odor control.

I really don’t like clay – it gets everywhere. And the dust is bad for my asthma. I’ve even had Bobby wheezing from it in the past.

The Cat Attract, unfortunately, is too expensive. I’ve tried the wheat scoop stuff – can’t remember which boy tried to eat it! And it smells like farm.

Heck, maybe I should just go dig up dirt outside!

GD, is the Dr Elseys Precious Cat as expensive as the Cat Attract? I’ve never priced or used the Cat Attract, but the Precious Cat is around $15 (on sale) for a 40 pound bag. So many people swear by it and it is low dust. I think different cats make different odors. Some swear the odor control is great. I think it is okay, but not perfect. I add a little Fresh Step Unscented Scoopable (which is dusty but has great odor control.) So we have to blend litters to get one right for us…LOL. But many swear by the Precious Cat by itself and I love that it isn’t dusty. Might be worth looking into if it is in your price range. (I always try to wait for it to go on sale.)

I may check out the Precious Cat stuff, ECB. One thing’s for sure – the scented clay has got to go!
