Brush their teeth. You can use a human child toothbrush with warm water. Or you can get a kitty toothbrush and cat toothpaste from the vet or maybe from the pet store. Don’t use human toothpaste. You can get cat treats that are designed to help remove tarter from their teeth. If you start brushing when they are young, it’s not as hard to get them use to it.

Also check their gums and make sure none of them have bad teeth. Their gums should be a nice healthy pink, not white or really red.

If it’s not their teeth, then it could be something they are eating. If all of them have the same stink on their breath, and it’s not their teeth, then you might try changing out their food (slowly) to something else. If that makes a difference then you know which food not to feed them.

Check their gums and teeth. Look for any signs of swelling, discoloration or decay. My kitten had something called Bartonella (spelling?) which is a virus and one effect is gingivitis. After a round of medicine he was fine.

You want to be very careful with your cats dental health as bad teeth can be very hard on their entire system, especially the heart and kidneys.

Dry food doesn’t clean a cats teeth ( Does Dry Food Clean The Teeth? ) it is just one more way the pet food industry has fooled us. “It would be like your dentist telling you to eat dry cereal because it’s good for your teeth,” Dym explains. “The sugar leads to more wear and tear on teeth.” from Is Conventional Cat-Food Wisdom All Wet?

The best way to keep a cats teeth in top shape is raw feeding (and NOT feeding ground raw either!). Visit Raw Fed Cats for info on raw feeding. Rajah is just one of my many cats who I have switched to a raw diet and here is a thread I have on TDK with pictures of his teeth prior to and after raw feeding: Rajah’s Teeth
