How adorable!
oh how cute
What is up with calling this baby it? Is this baby a boy or girl? This baby is very adorable…..
It’s possible the owner doesn’t know the kitten’s gender, but I’m guessing it’s more likely that it’s a blip in translation.
pretty cute and camouflaged
Pulga’s ears look practically transparent!
What a tiny baby hiding on a furry blanket.
She looks very determined to make it through the long fleecy thingie!
you sound like me…long fleecy thingie…lol
Pulga is frowning. *Puts the frowning Pulga in the backpack*
My aunt had a dog named Pulga. That was one mean dog.
Hope everyone & their cat-babies are well today. I’m listening to Pearl Jam and having a breakfast croissant. Life is good.
good morning HM! Can I please pet Pulga!
Of course you can. I’m a generous sort.
*Opens backpack so georgie’s mama can pet Pulga*
**pets pretty baby!!**
Awwww… *sneaking over to pet Pulga too*
She’s wittle and fuzzy!!!!
Anyone else want to pet Pulga before I take her away?
Let me just give her a little pat. *gently pats kitty’s head adoringly* Ok, got my kitten fix!
Me too! *pets Pulga, nabs bite of HM’s croissant, and flees*
Me next. She is so small and tiny. “Kisses her little pink nose and squishes a paw for Dee. Cranks up the volume and slips away” Thanks HM!
Dog gone it!!! Is that a dirty word on TDK? Was walking at lunchtime and missed being able to pet Pulga! Oh well , I enjoyed the fresh air and sunshine. Now back to my windowless cubicle for the afternoon.
Hey, you’re right! There is sunshine in Ohio! I’ve been in a windowless meeting room all day. My cats are probably in seventh heaven, playing in sunbeams at my balcony door.
Did I miss petting Pulga? and can someone tell me, what’s an “emo cat?”
I’m next, such a darling little kit-pats her head steals a bit of croissant and dashes-Life IS good.
😀
WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CROISSANT?? 😀
Here HM, I just baked these fresh croissants. Want a chocolate one? *felt guilty for snitching bite of said croissant, hangs head and hopes for forgiveness*
Mom to Tiga & The gang – Mine was full of really bad stuff. Bacon, cheese, eggs – LOL. Do you have any of those?
Love little Pulga, gives air kiss! Loved the exchange on the croissant! Co-workers wondering what’s so funny. Thanks for making my day!
HM worrieed about her breakfast while I pet and steal Pulga! Buwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!
You all are eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil I say. 🙂
Ya snooze ya lose tootsie!
Don’t worry HM, I’ll bring fresh bagels tomorrow, OK?
They better be loaded with cholesterol laden foods or I won’t eat them – lol
HM, Here, Just the same as the first one. Except lots less calories and cholestrol! 🙂
cholesterol, sorry. 🙂
Make mine a chocolate filled croissant. Yum!
If there’s less calories and cholesterol, how can it be the same? *raises eyebrow and thinks hard about it*
HD — cuz there “virtual” croissants! 0 calories! I’ll take two, but put diced sausage in mine, Mom to Tiga! But how rude….that is of course if you’re making enough for ALL of us…shouldn’t be too hard, eh? LOL!
Huddy’s Mama,
I guess since your breakfast disappeared, I can save you some burritos and a piece of cheesecake for lunch?
I gather, that you like burritos and cheesecake. I seen your reply to my post late last nite. How are you and your boys? Doing well, I hope.
Ok burritos and cheesecake it is! Mmmmm…burritos. Me and the boys are great. I’m gonna go right home, take a shower and hop in the bed so they can worship me.
What a doll! Love those lil’ ears and just wann kiss ’em!!!
I actually got here early for a change! What a cutey prowler! Probably too young for a catnip lure into somebody’s back pack.
I have her in the backpack, Jeannette, but you can pet her.
You still have her, HM? I left little Bob at home today and I miss him! (eventhough I was awakened at 5:40 AM by said little guy sitting on shoulder and dropping crinkly silver ball on my face to begin a highly entertainibng round of fetch!!)
His “punishment” was a “paw bath” to clean litter from his little paws. I seem to have discovered that it’s not necessarily the litter, but the fact that Bob pees so much with his kidney issues that the litter can’t keep up and just gets wet and clay-like eventhough I give him new litter every day! Doesn’t help that he always pees in the same corner of the litterbox!
Great Dane rotate the box so there is clean litter on the spot he likes. I am so glad he is a peeing king and not blocked up.
Hm, but his litterbox is triangular!!!!!!????????
So then you have three corners instead of four.
It sits in a corner?
Okay Great Dane now you are being mean and messing with my already messed up mind!
You left Bob at home? I know you must miss him. I was bummed when Sebastian and Huddy got too big to take with me. Maverick was 3 when I got him, so he never got to go to work with me. I don’t think he’d want to. They didn’t name him Maverick for nothing.
Sylvester has been bugging me all morning for attention so I sprayed his little carpeted “house” with the catnip mist and now he is passed out. Oh the wonders of catnip.
I have got to get me some of that catnip spray!
I bought it from PetSmart here in my area. The label on the bottle says “Whisker City and underneat that it says Catnip Mist (Brume d’herbe a chats). For more information on Whisker City products call 1-800-806-4229
Sylvester loves it and when I spray it on a scratching post, he tries to lick the post as usually I give the catnip in plant form and he eats the leaves I pick off the plant for him. He is so spoiled but he gives me a lot of joy and love and is worth it.
HM have you checked your backpack lately?
WHO TOOK PULGA, DAGNABBIT!!! Bring her back post haste.
Petey is playing kissy face with Pulga.
Two cuties in a row?? With the week that we’ve been having, we need them! Huggies and kissies to Pulga and Snuggle Bear. >:)
OMG!! What an adorable little polar bear!!
Polar cat!
A little white angel sitting on a fluffy cloud. Love those sweet pink ears.
That was what I was thinking, what a beauty
What a little cutie pie with her(?) matching blankie.
We had a flood at work over the weekend, so we had Monday off woo-hoo! Back at work today but half the ceiling is gone, the carpet is wet in places and everything stinks!
You guys are really gettin’ the weather business on the coast….hope your home, critters and family are all safe and sound.
Thanks for your kind words Renee. Everything is great at home and the work flood was caused by an overflow in the bathroom. It apparently backed up early Sunday morning but nobody noticed until the guard made his rounds three hours later.
That’s good news…plumbing snafus can be harnessed, Mother Nature can’t! 🙂 No wonder everything stinks! Ewwww! Poor baby!
EEeeewwww – yuck!
what part of ohio are you in i am in the nw corner 40 miles west of toledo
I’m in the other corner…about 30 miles south of Cleveland…sure would rather be about 30 miles south of MIAMI right now!! Tired of this delay in the arrival of spring and I’m sure you are too! It’s deeeeepressing I tell ya!!
I’m in Green (Summit County) at the moment. How close is that to you?
20 minutes…I work in Canton which is about the same distance.
When my neice was graduating from law school 7 years ago in Cleveland I got to go to The Football Hall of Fame. I have a picture of me hugging Mike Ditka’s bust too bad he couldn’t hug mine! I be bad! I grew up watching him play for Da Bears then coached.
reporting in from the southeastern quadrant – Lancaster OH
Ahh, Canton … Home of the Fox & Hound!
Hey Susan in GA, did your niece graduate from a Cleveland law school or Akron? I ask because I graduated from Akron’s law school 7 years ago! Would be totally weird if I know her! Send me an e-mail on one of my Catster pages if you want (click on my name above this post to go there).
Sounds like my basement rec room, 🙁
My sympathies to all of you with storm damage. Hope all is well soon. Stay well and wash your hands often.
Mary, I would encourage your manager to let you all go home if it is all wet and stinks. The mildew could start to create a health hazard and I think the management would prefer to have a couple of days off versus being sued for putting you all in a unhealthy environment.
such a big round head. that little pink nose is SO cute. reminds me of another DK kitten – Ina. Think Ina was in November…6th I wanna say? Anyhow, cute cute frowning fuzzlet.
Little cute bobblehead.
You remember kitties from back in November?????
Rowan,
Hi, Ina was posted on Jan-20-2007. Nyan was posted for Nov.6, she was a tiny sleeping kitten. They’re all so cute. My first thought also, was that Pulga reminded me of Ina.
Pulga is so teeny…can’t be more than a few weeks old! I love the itsy-bitsy floopy ears.
What a sweet little kitten.
What a little sweetie! Hope those ears can hear a whole lot of woozling and boo-boo kitten lovetalk!
teeny tiny baby. how cute! I love her crazy kitten eyes!
Is it just me? Or are one of those beautiful eyes looking at Dallas?
This from abcnews.com. Is this food problem ever going to end?

Natural Balance Pet Foods Recalled
WASHINGTON Apr 16, 2007 (AP)— Natural Balance Pet Foods recalled two kinds of pet food after receiving reports of animals vomiting and experiencing kidney problems, the Food and Drug Administration said Monday.
The recall includes all date codes of Venison & Brown Rice Dry Dog Food and Venison & Green Pea Dry Cat Food. The company does not know the cause of the problem, but said it is focused on one particular lot.
Natural Balance Pet Foods is working with the FDA to investigate the matter and is urging consumers to not feed either pet food product to their animals.
Thank you. That is my cat’s food. Guess it is back to Hill’s prescription for them.
Pulga is so sweet and so tiny. I wonder how old (s)he is?
Hey! The Daily Kitten has been nominated in Blogger’s Choice Awards for BEST ANIMAL BLOGGER! You can show your support in
http://www.bloggerschoiceawards.com/blogs/show/3194?load=comments.
Voting requires registration. If you don’t feel comfortable with giving your email address, you better skip this. But don’t forget to keep your thumbs up!
Finally got through, I voted, how about the rest of you?
I voted…we’ve got a long way to go before we can catch up with Cute Overload….
Between the ads and the background stuff-that is just a tradgedy! The baby bunny in the cotton balls was cute but our kittens are WAY cuter. If that stuff is overload than we’re a meltdown!!
I’ve checked every one of those Animal Blogger Nominees. TDK should be in Top 3.
Cute Overload for one pleads with fans to vote for it and almost every nominee has at least put the brag badge on their page.
Voted too. But couldn’t comment 🙁
Kittens look funny when they are so tiny their heads look two sizes too big. I guess they named her “Pulga” because she is so small.
She reminds me of Chloe when she was that age. Many kisses to tis sweet baby.
I remember when I got Huddy, he could hardly hold his big head up and his ears were HUGE. I still have a ‘preemie’ picture of him. He looks like he’s wearing a little wifebeater. lol
I love it when they’re that small. When we first got Trixie she was all wobbly when she walked. Too, too cute!
I love it they are so uncoordinated at that age. All big heads. They go to swat things and fall over ’cause their head sent them off balance…too sweet those itty bitty kitties, just like Pulga.
I’m laughing really loud because it’s brining back all these memories of the baby Huddy. He’d get sleepy and just fall over back in those days. The momentum of his head would just send him over I guess.
Those sweet memories of the babies (human and furry) can bring a smile to the day. It’s so much fun to think back to those cute days.
That’s what I like about this community, because so many times, and in so many directions, the words spoken bring back the joys life has offered.
How old is Huddy these days, HM?
He’ll be 3 in August. When I got him he weighed 1.7 pounds. Now he weighs 18 pounds. The vet told me he’d probably weigh 20 if he had a tail! LOL
Awwwww, he doesn’t have a tail?
Hug him for me!
No, he’s a tail-less little guy. I always chastise his brothers for making fun of him for it. But he gets them back by biting THEIR tails. He’s smart like that. You can see him on Catster if you click on my name, but I don’t know if you can tell he’s a bobtail.
I will definitely hug him for you. He loves hugs, scratches on the belly, a for me to hold him until I get tired and put him down. He’s a total love.
Hugs and belly scratches for Huddy from me.
I will do that. When Sylvester wakes up from his catnip overdose give him a hug for me. Is he still doing well?
I had a bobtail named Rascal. He was such a great hunter! We would say that he was a bunny cat-you are what you eat!
We call them cabbits!
Actually, Pulga is Spanish for “flea”. I guess because she is so tiny! Could she be any cuter? I just want to scoop her up and put her down the front of my jumper to keep her warm while I work (or just post here on TDK). She is adorable!!!
So tiny!!
Pink ears & nose looks like the Easter Bunny, wish I had a basket to put him in! Cute Bunny kitten.
Angel FUZZ
Hello!! Happy Tuesday!
Today is my birthday!!
I took Perry to the vet for a check up this am. They checked his weight, urine and gave him additional Baytril. He was sweet for them. They don’t have the lab report from testing his crystals yet. That will show what type of food he needs to be on. The PH.
I got a birthday box from my dear sister in NJ today. She sent me crock shoes, two jackets, $, a gift certificate, and other little odds and ends. I received many nice cards as well! I just wish the weather wasn’t so cold and nasty……
Happy happy birthday! Is Perry celebrating with you at home?
Happy Bee-Day! Ha, I crack myself up!! Really though, happy day and good vibes for Perry! Many happy healthy returns for both of you!!
Happy Birthday Bumblebee!! Hug Perry for me.
Happy Happy Birthday Bumblebee. Hope all your wishes come true.
So glad you took Perry back to the vet, no sense worrying if there is nothing to worry about.
Hope you have a wonderful day.
*everybody sings..* HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BUMBLE BEEEEEEE. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUU. AND MANY MOOOORE.
It’s YOUR Day !!! Enjoy it to the max…
Happy Birthday, Bee!
May all your birthday wishes come true!
Happy Birthday, fellow Aries! Yeah, the weather is lousy here in NJ – flooding everywhere. I hope you have a great day. Hug your fuzzy baby, and your day is sure to be wonderful.
Happy Birthday!!!!!!! I hope your day Rocks!
Hey Bumblebee! Happy B-day! Mine was Sunday…are you a fellow Aries??? I know my b-day is right towards the end of Aries, but don’t know what date starts Taurus. Glad your furr-buddy is doing o.k. I have to take one of mine in today at 2:45. He’s not even 2 yet and his gums look awful! He is a poop-head about attempts at tooth brushing, but then again, this cat has the tiniest mouth I have ever seen on a cat, so it makes brushing difficult, even with one of those finger things. *Sigh* I guess trips to the vet are in our “stars” huh?
Enjoy your day!
I found that brushing Bob’s teeth (which seems to freak him out more than a bath or even the vet!) works better with the long toothbrush than the finger-thing.
Happy Birthday, Bumblebee….. and pets for Perry…. hope all is well..
Happy Birthday BumbleeBee!
Happy Birthday fellow Arien! Hope you have a most fantabulous day and I’m glas the news about Perry is improving. You both deserve a great day!
Happy birthday Bumblebee! Many more! I hope your birthday presents include good news about Perry.
Happy Birthday, Bumblebee,
take the gift certificate out shopping, and you won’t even notice the nasty weather!!!!
Happy Birthday Bee! I hope you have a cuddlishes day. Meow-Meow-Meow
Best wishes for a very happy birthday, My Pa Buddy! Hope you have a great day. Praying everyday for Perry’s recovery. Glad he doing better. Nice of your sister to give you wonderful gifts. Enjoy! Many more happy and healthy years ahead for you.
Happy Birthday – hope its great and you have many more!
I hope you live as long as you want to and love as long as you live. A Very Happy Birthday Bumblebee
Happy Birthday BumbleBee!!!!! Hugs and purrs to you on your special day. Have a nice big piece of chocolate cake and make it a yummy day.
Happy B-Day Bumblebee! That makes us birthday buddies of sorts. Mine was yesterday, but I missed being able to post yesterday. Thanks so much, Renee from Arkansas, for remembering and sending birthday wishes to me. I have been moving for a couple of days (crappy birthday, huh?) and I haven’t had a chance to be on TDK. I missed my Daily Kitten. But most of all I miss MY kitties! They are staying with their Auntie Erin while mommy and daddy move. I have missed them SOOO much. My husband works nights and I spend each night alone. They make things so much better and they weren’t there last night. Makes me sad!
Well, belated happy birthday to you too! HAPPY DAY, HAPPY DAY, IT’S FOR YOU THOUGH IT WAS YESTURDAY!
You are welcome Amy Lou. I hope you get settled in soon and can be with your kitties. I know what it is like to be on the night shift schedule. I now fall somewhere in the middle of both schedules! lol
A very Happy Belated Birthday to you Amy Lou. When you get all settled in just pick a day and declare that is your birthday this year.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Bumblebee!
Hope you and Perry are doing well. Sounds like you got alot of nice things for your birthday. Money is always good. I give money when I can’t figure out what to get someone. That way they can buy the perfect gift for themselves! Purrs to you and Perry. Hope you have a great day.
Happy Bee day fellow Aries!
Have a great day.
8)
Happy birthday!
Awwww what a cute little baby.
CF
Oh my! Pulga is so small! How old is she/he? 3-4 weeks?
What a cutie! She is all white and pink, like a true girly girl – yet so very very worried. She needs lots of kissing and cuddling. Perhaps if Huddy’s Mama takes a nap…
No, I’m taking the backpack around today, miu. Here, pet Pulga.
Thanks! You ARE a generous soul – I would have held her all mine.
*scritching ‘n’ babytalking ‘n’ kissing ‘n’ hugging*
*deep happy sigh*
Here she comes, Huddy’s Mama. 🙂
**pets & kisses little baby**Thanks, HM.
What does her name mean?
There are so many kinds of Spanish, I can only give you the word I know for pulga. It’s ‘flea’
How did you get Pulga back I thought she and Petey were making kissy face. Did you bribe him?
Petey is totally mistaken ;D
Can someone tell what emo means? Pulga owner says emo cat. I like the sound of it.
Emo is short for emotional. It’s a whole movement. You can dress emo, act emo, listen to emo music. I had no idea WHAT it was until one of my younger family members explained it to me a few months back. I just thought it was a bunch of complaining music made by people who cut themselves and want to die. Honest.
So, drama queen out-emo in? Or is emo a specific sort of whining?
It’s a specific sort of whining. Mostly about hating life and everything about it from what I understand.
Seems like an incredible waste of energy to me…. Get a life! (Or better yet, get a cat!)
Good answer!
Beyond Goth I guess. I had one that wanted to do the Goth thing, it was in style. The only problem was she was naturally boyant and cheerful. Way too much fun to mess with.
My daughter and her friends did the Goth thing in high school. One day normal lookings kids, next day rejects from the Addams Family. What bothered me most was that my daughter has beautiful natural red hair and she dyed it black. 🙁
Mine was Goth in high school and still is. And she’s in her ’30’s now! *sigh*
Mine dyed her hair too even though it was very dark brown! How does that make sence? Anyway, they both grew out of it and into a service uniform-go figure.
Goths are far more cheerful than the emo-kids 🙂 Just don’t tell the goths that 😉
I believe that Pulga means ‘flea’ in Spanish…. We have a street here in San Mateo, that is called ‘ Alameda de las Pulgas’ which translate to ‘Walk of the Fleas’.
Sorry, I misread the question… Mea culpa!
I used to live in San Mateo, and when I saw this beautiful little kitty’s name, I also thought of Alameda de las Pulgas. But I never knew what ‘pulga’ meant. So I have just looked it up, and then thought “Avenue of the Fleas?!?” Lovely! 😉
I didn’t know that HV and I have been to two job interviews along that street. It runs quite a long way through a couple of pennisula cities: San Mateo, Redwood City to Menlo Park.
Oh, HM me next! I can’t wait to kiss those little pink toes! I know Pulga has little pink toes…Gonna’ kiss’em toes!
Help yourself. She’s soooo kissable.
What a pretty little kitten! all pink and white with blue eyes. Snuggle time…
🙂
Pulga, you’re an angelic little baby! She needs a snorgle and hugs! I love toes too. I’ll wait my turn and kiss them when Rosie’s done!
A pile of white fluff on a pile of white fluff. Heavenly beauty.
i really love white kittens and cats,my calico is due to deliver any day now and the babies will be white like the daddy,we know because we mated her with him before and he produced 5 little white babiesthe last time, also he is the same father of my turkish angora ,and he is a turkish angora also.I’ll be posting their pictures when they are born.
Ooooh, Elaine, why? I have lots of adorable kittens coming to my porch from feral moms that I haven’t been able to neuter yet. Yesterday I was at Petsmart buying more food that I can afford, and looking at the cages full of wonderful kitties longing for adoptive homes. There are so many gorgeous kittens that never find a human family, and wind up dying of disease or dog attacks or car “accidents” or euthanasia at the pound…why would you insist on breeding more just so you can see how cute “yours” are? Sorry to be so harsh — but life is very harsh for the ones who will die because someone bred “prettier” kittens. I’m sure you are a loving person (or you wouldn’t be here), but please, please, please remember the kittens on death row before you allow your cat to have another litter.
Sorry all for harshing the meelow, but those cats in cages just break my heart. They want so badly to be loved…
Pulga is a very fortunate kittie, as well as adorable. (((HUG)))
You’re making me cry……. 🙁
angela, you’re a downie clownie, but youre right. i used to take in all strays and still neuter feral cats when theyre around. its very sad. i love them all but i can’t take anymore.
Angela, I too cry over all the poor ferals and throwaways. My mantra is SPAY/NEUTER if you love cats and dogs. For the love of these creatures we need to stop the over abundance. Over 9,500 cats and dogs are killed in shelters every DAY in this country.
Elaine, I had no idea you were mating your cats. Why? Where are they going to go after birth? Do you realize that many kittens given to “good homes” end up as Pit Bull bait, research animals, Boa Constrictor food, or dumped out as soon as they miss the litter box or throw-up on the carpet?
I’m getting really tired of seeing crap like this on this site. If every cat in the world was spayed and neutered like you want, there’d be no more kittens, and then you’d whine because they were extinct or endangered. (See: wolves)
It’s like you’re an evil person if you do anything but take in every feral off the street. I think you guys are being really judgemental and I get tired of seeing it.
Andi, the posters here are not judging anyones behavior. The fact is, kittens will never be extinct because not everyone will spay/neuter their animals. That is just being realilstic. However, the more cats that are neutered lessens the amount of kittens who are killed inhumanely and die of exposure from living on the streets. For all of us who love animals, of all kinds, we pray for more loving homes for the babies that outweigh the cages of the babies who will never find homes. No one is evil here, just very passionate about their feelings. I hope that you continue to be a visitor here even though you may not agree with all that you read. We are a large community of many feelings, personalities, and localities. We all love and disagree passionately. Please don’t be too judgemental of us. It’s who and what we are. Peace to you and thanks for your opinion.
Andi, first no one is hunting kittens into extinction and second do you know how many animals YOUR town distroys every year? The animal control center in San Antonio, TX where I live kills thousands every year. We don’t mind people breeding, we just have a problem with indiscriminant breeding.
Lynn, you are wrong. They ARE being judgemental. Elene in NY did not make a blanket general statement about spaying/neutering but made it personal statement directed at Elaine. Then after asking her why she was breeding her cats, tried to make her feel guilty. I agree with Andi. Years ago I let my cat have a litter before getting her fixed. She was a beautiful grey and white long hair with a wonderful personality. Hoping the kittens would have her personality. Besides wanted more cats than just Zack, who was fixed and not the father of Bicardi’s kittens, and Bicardi who were strays I had found. But did not want the hassle of trying to get the newcomers to get along with the existing cats. Bicardi had 4 beautiful kittens. One died 2 weeks after birth, found a wonderful home for the one and have had Alex and Tecumseh for almost 15 years now. I have since added two strays, lost Zack a few years ago, but have never been able to sucessfully intergrate the newcomers into my home. Alex, Bicardi are lap cats and always sitting on me. Tecumseh like to sit near me but will never get along with any new cat. So since Alex, Bicardi and Tecumseh are always by me, Hoover and Sherman have to stay across the room or elsewhere in the house. Other than a nice home, full belly and medical care they do not get much attention since it is only me. Hoover is 11 so no guarantee she will out live Tecumseh to get her share. Sherman is only 2 so he will be top cat someday. I will never feel guilty for my litter. I have the worldest best cats and untill the last 2 strays showed up, had 4 cats that got along with each other. Do feel guilty at times for taking in the last 2 strays since I knew Tecumseh would probably never tolerate them. They basically get ignored except for brief times when Tecumseh is not around. But then I remind myself if I did not take them in, they would probably be dead so better off in my home even if they do not get much attention or able to sleep with me since the other three get the bed. Plus with strays you can get problems like Sherman who attacks and bites at times when you pet him. Never hurts you but plays rough. Probably a hold over from who ever dumped him always playing with him as a kitten using his hand. Then did not like it when Sheman got older and dumped him. Try to redirect his playing to toys and he is better but probably will always be a biter. Very friendly cat and always at the door to greet people but have to be careful and warn people to leave him alone when he starts biting. Too bad since the others hide when people are over and is Sherman’s chance for lots of attention. In case anyone is wondering, Bicardi only had the one litter and all are fixed.
Bryan: I totally agree with you. I think that if one is going to be responsible for the litters one breeds, it really is nobody else’s business.
There is nothing like the ties that are formed among litters. It is a joy to behold. I took in a litter of four and they are terrific. I tried to integrate a fifth girl, but for the three years I had her, she was never welcomed by the other four. I had a great relationship with her and she would often plop on top of me and purr away, but she was very skittish with the other four. Ultimately, when she saw a chance to escape, she did. She jumped out of my window and went to live two doors down; I did re-capture her twice and twice she escaped again.
I think that those of you who take many cats are admirable. However, my efforts have not been so successful; the cats that are already established in my home are not happy whe new cats come in, and they make no bones about it. They are growly and hissy and the general tension level gets very high.
I am now committed to adopting litters, and only replacing cats I have lost (zero population growth). I think adopting or having litters as pets is the healthiest way to go, and I want to elevate quality over quantity. My cats are extremely healthy and spoiled, and when I yearn for more little adorable kittens, I have to remind myself that it would not be fair to the cats I have now.
I think that if Elaine wants to breed her cats, and she can take care of them, more power to her. I, for one, will look forward to your pictures of the kittens, Elaine. I know you will love them and take care of them-
Kate the Grate,
Hats off to you. You said what I was thinking!
Bryan, my comments were not meant for Elene or Elaine. I responded to the comment that Andi made. If you and Kate the Grate have had successful litters with your babies, great! My comments were meant to not criticize other peoples feelings. Everyone to their opinion how many kittens to have or not. Wishing you the best and thanks for your input. We can all agree to disagree, if that be the case. I commend both of you for giving little ones a good home, good care and love. That is all one could ask for for our loving fur babys. Forgive me if I offended anyone. Only putting out an opinion.
*walks away in silence*
Exactly why the foster mom of our next adoptee has been so very careful as to our intentions. She’s been offered money to buy her 8 yr old for experiments! As Dee would say: grrrrrrrr!
I agree, Angela,
this morning biking to work, I saw a skinny brown adolescent- looking feral cat with his tail missing, walking in the grass beside the road looking for something to eat. He ran away when I got closer and hid in the bushes. I felt so bad for him and didn’t have anything to feed him. I’m stopping at the grocery store on my way home from work to get some kitty treats for my bag in case I meet him again. The lady who fostered Bob catches feral cats, and I would be so thankful if she’d be able to get this one. But who knows, probably I’ll never see the little guy again….. So sad!
Ask to borrow a trap and set it up in a ‘hidden’ place near where you saw the cat. You can catch him and bring him to the lady, or take him to a vet, or a rescue group in your area.
i have a friend that uses a big net. : ) my husband corners them catches cats in towels. i have never been very good at it myself, so im going to go out and buy a net. then we also have a bunch of cat carriers. you really need them.
I agree Angela, I wince when I hear that people are mating cats. After working in a shelter and seeing all the cats who were cute little kittens and grew into adult cats at the shelter. Some spent their entire life at the shelter which is better than being outside but not by much.
eww. elaine makes her cats do the nasty! and all with the same boy.
Toooooooo funny Kiki!
Sorry I’m a downer too…neuter-spay-adopt purrrty please! I volunteer at a shelter…so many sad lil’ lives lookin’ for someone to love them.
So Elaine do the parent cats and all the kittens live with you? Just curious.
Elaine- I just visited your fuzzbutt. I love the name. And I love the music & floating hearts. Adds a nice flair to it.
I miss my turkish angora. We had her when those posters were popular and ours looked just like them, right down to the gold eyes. How long before they would be available?
Debbie, how is Shadow doing? We all care and our hearts are with you.
Wondering that too. Debbie, Shaddo wants to know how Shadow is doing. I’m so sad for what you and Shadow have to go through.
Ditto, please tell
Great news!

I can’t possibly post individually to everyone who responded with prayers and good wishes for my Shadow…so thank you one and all! She’s still with me, eating from a syringe, but actually licking up the “dribbles†and from my finger as well. Holding her head up more, but still having trouble with the legs. We’ll just have to see how it goes the rest of the week–will see the vet again probably on Friday. Thank you again!
Thanks Miu, was worried Shadow might have passed on. Sounds like very good progress so far. Glad for Debbie and Shadow. Come back Lyn from PA. and Elaine! Even if we disagree we are all bound by love for cats and kittens. That transcends all differences.
Ah! so sweet and tiny.
A furry snowball in April.
Soft fluffy kitten
Pink, white, blue eyed love

Happy Birthday
White on White fuzz
This baby looks like a little white tiger-let.
I have a strange, sneaking suspicion that shadow crossed the rainbow bridge- that’s why we haven’t heard from debi. i hope she and her kitty are ok. my heart goes out to her. my beloved charley ultimately died of a stroke
Poor Debi – I hope not. How sad.
You know, I guess cats can get anything people can, but I’ve never heard of one dying of a stroke. I’m sorry, Paige.
That’s what a lot of old cats die of. My 21 year old, Freud, passed away by “throwing a clot” which can occur because of heart, lung, dysfunction or even cancer. And you know Freddy, who just passed away, he had a stroke, too. His heart was not functioning properly and clots formed which in turn broke loose and caused a blockage so that he could not get blood circulating to his lower body. He was put to sleep by the vet, because his prognosis was so poor… Better that than the agony of having your body die in inches. Now, you medicos, don’t jump all over me, but this is what I was told. One of my best girlfriends died a few years ago from a similar condition. (We found out she also had cancer of the lungs and that is where the clots were forming.) Clots formed in her legs and then a series of strokes paralyzed her. She was only 51 years old (my age now!)..and such a beautiful, wickedly funny, Harley riding woman! I miss her so much…
I love your cat Olive. Nice pics. My best cat ever was all black and mean to everyone and everything but me. He worshipped me and I worshipped hiim. Miss him. Have a new kitty that is 8 months old, all speckly and multi-colored tortie. She is wonderful, but she can never fully help me get over the best black cat ever. Thx for posting pics.
He was 18 and lived probably the best life a cat could ever have, but he was the best cat there was. He was diabetic, and had gone into renal failure. He also had vestibular disease which is common in dogs, but fairly rare in cats. It’s just an upset in the equilibrium that causes them to walk with their heads tilted. Every once in awhile, he’d have an attack and circle. He had a hard time going up and down stairs for a few days and then he’d be fine. But the day he died, I found him under my mom’s bed (I had been out of town). My mom had checked on him the hour before and he was fine, he had picked up his head and looked at her all alert. When I got home, I went in to say hi to him (he liked to sleep under there before he was sick, it was a nice cool spot in the summer and warm in the winter). He was laying between the two boxes where he always slept, but I couldn’t see him. He was making all these weird noises, and so I pulled the boxes out to get to him. He couldn’t lift his head and he was drooling alot. He seemed to be paralyzed on one side. We rushed him to the vet and put him down, I couldn’t bear for him to suffer. It was horrible, he had always been my cat and was trying to comfort ME the whole drive to the vet. I was pretty messed up for a couple of months. It was a really sudden, bad way to see him go. I wish it had been peaceful for him, and I still feel guilty that he waited till I got home…
That is absolutely heartbreaking. I think I’d probably have been messed up over it too. Don’t feel guilty, he waited till you got home to tell you goodbye.
I am so sorry for you and your Charley. It seems to me that he loved you very much, so much that he waited for you to get home. Please accept my condolences. I get teary-eyed when I think about how hard this was for you.
Please don’t feel guilty. When I knew my Katie wasn’t going to be with me much longer, I told her to wait for me and she did. I took her home and within 15 min. she was gone. We had a chance to say goodbye and she went with all my love. I cry for her still and that was 9 years ago.
Sometimes the best way to show we love our pets is to let them go. I know what he ment to you, we understand your pain. We are here together because of our shared interest, we stay because of our shared bond of love. You have sisters and brothers, moms and dads, and even grandparents in sympathy with you. We share your greif, share our strength-lean on us. We are here for you. And if Debi is watching we are with her as well.
Amen
I couldn’t have put it better Rosie. This is a warm, family site as well
Oh Paige…how awful for you. I feel guilty that I WASN’T here when Freddy became ill. They could have tried to keep him alive, but, like you, I wouldn’t have wanted him to suffer. No matter what happens, I think we all feel guilty when our babies go…it just hurts so *%&%$ much to lose them.
My beautiful shaded silver Persian Missy died 4 years ago of a stroke at 12 years old. It was horrible, there was nothing I could do, it was in the middle of the night I heard her making horrible noises. She died in my arms. *wipes away tears*
Oh gosh, Sebas Mom. I’m so sorry about Missy. *shakes head in sadness*
I’m so sorry you lost your Missy. It must have been very hard for you but please know that she is at the Rainbow Bridge having the time of her life while she waits for you.
I can sympathize with you. My Katie was a gray Persian mix who died of strokes at the age of 17. She had two of them within a week. The first left her with a staggering gait; the second left her unable to eat or drink. After feeding her liquefied food, a high-nutrient-high-calorie supplement that the vet gave me, and fresh water through a syringe for several days, I couldn’t stand it any more and had her sent on to the Bridge. She died in my arms, too, also in the middle of the night. We have an emergency clinic that is open whenever regular vet clinics are closed (nights, weekends, holidays), and the vet there sent her on her way.
Pulga is a hypnotic beauty! Have a great B-Day Bumblebee! And I hope also that everything is fine w/Shadow & Debi
Aww! Pulga is adorable!
So tiny, and matches in with the fluffy thing she’s laying on!
Dee, where are you??????
Yea, Dee, everything Ok?????
Thanks for removing that comment, Kittenmaster. It made me so sad that someone comes here and says such nasty things about us. Thanks for watching over us all.
Hey Huddy’s Mama- I took a look at Huddy’s pics. He looks alot like my Winnie(short for Winnefred). I wanted to ask. Was he born w/no tail or did he lose it in an accident of some kind? I hope not the later.
He was born that way. His birth mom didn’t have a tail either. It’s funny, every time I go to the vet they ask me ‘what happened to his tail?’ as if I’ve done something to him.
So he’s part Manx, how cute! Have the vet put his breed in his records. I know how you feel–when I would bring my daughter to the Dr. after one of her softball game injuries, the nurses gave me funny looks.
You know, I’ve had a 1/2 manx before and he was nothing like Huddy. His name was Winny (short for Winston) and he was very much a loner. He’d come to you if he wanted to be bothered, but most of the time he didn’t. He wasn’t mean, he just wasn’t as lovable as Huddy is. When I lost Winston I swore I’d never get another cat, and yet just about a year and half later, I found my Big Sebastian.
Anyway, back to the Manx thing. It got me to wondering if Manx cats have certain traits in their personalities because these 2 are like night and day.
Like all cats, each has his/her own personality within each breed. A lot has to do with how they were handled as kittens. I used to work with a Balinese breeder on Long Island who made sure all her kittens were people-socialised by us handling them daily, kisses & playing with them (talk about a dream job!)
Now that I think about it, Winston was almost 5 months old when I got him, much younger than the 6 week old Huddy. He was in a cage all by himself in the pet store – I don’t know how long he’d been there. They probably didn’t play with him very much while he was there.
Huddy on the other hand, I’ve carried around like a baby every since I got him.
He’s the only cat I have who gets separation anxiety when I leave. (He stands on his hind legs with his paws on the patio door just wailing until I disappear down the stairs)
Awwww…….He thinks you’re his mama for real!
I believe he does. He even says ‘maMA?’
LOL, my Sweetpea says “Mama!”
😆
what type of kitten is that?
Too Cute!! This is one heck of a fix…… So cute…. So little, Hugs and kisses…. The best to all TDKers….. Tommy/Mississippi
Pulga makes me smile! So adorable!
Oh, and Sammy has some wonderful news he wants you all to know about! He has been on a diet for, oh…going on 3 years now. We had our check-up and vaccinations at the vet the other day. Sammy previously weighed 16.2 pounds and he is now down to…. (drum roll please…) 14.4!!!! Yippee! He should ideally be about 12 pounds, but we’re getting closer to a leaner, healthier boy! We’re going to have a catnip party in his honor once he comes to his new home! Anyone want to join?
Hugs for Sammy!!
Huddy will join Sammy’s party.
I love Sammy – so soft and cuddly looking.
Love the picture of Sammy in the birthday hat!!!! Are there going to be hats like that at the catnip party? Bob needs a little one!
A nippy party???? Count me and my brood of seven in!
Woohoo, a party!! You don’t have to ask a Texan twice! Go Sammy, Go Sammy-it’s not your birthday! It’s Bumblebee’s! You go girl, go Sammy!
Congrats, Sammy! Count me and my seven Fuzzbutts in!

Hi Everyone,
Pulga is a sweetie. Also, I am attaching a powerful video. And to all those who have loved one in the military share it with their families, our brave men and women need your support. My sister-in law sent it to me, she has two grandsons serving in the Marines. One is now in Korea and the other is heading back to Iraq for another tour.

Wow…. very moving. Thank you …. I have a brother serving as a civilian contractor in Afghanistan. He is retired military. I miss him, and want him home.
I agree. Quite moving. Thank You for the reminder. Sometimes we do get wrapped up in our daily lives and sadly to say,can & do forget.
I meant “thoughts”. Sorry.
Oh, lovely little pink nosed, pink eared white kitten! ! ! There’s nothing cleaner, nothing sweeter, nothing more innocent! Dear little baby, hope you have a long healthy, happy life with your loving human!

awwwwww what a lil cutie!!! i hope you still love her when she’s a big cutie! LOL! 🙂
I must have had the greatest luck in integrating new cats to my household. Initially I had my dau’s cat (ok he has never lived w/her) & his sister since they were 4 wks old. When they were 3 yrs old, I adopted two throwaway older gents from the animal shelter at ages 8 & 10 (their previous owner could no longer care for them and their children didn’t want them) whom were going to be euthanized if no home was found for them. The older one lived 4 yrs and passed away last year from kidney failure after two yrs on meds. I then adopted a throwaway youngster of about 1.5 yrs old that had been dumped on my workplace compound. All the added members have worked very nicely into the family, actually I do call them the horde because everyone has a particular job. The original lil girl Ms B’s job is too make sure that everyone gets fed at least twice a day, because I just may forget; its funny to watch the rest saunter along the hallway when she is running back & forth to the kitchen so I don’t lose my way. I am so glad that they don’t have major issues with each other.
I love coming here everyday and seeing everyone, its so like family….thank you
Bless you!
I love TDK! Everyone always appears to be happy. All of you chat with each other and it’s jsut great. I chuckle at some of the comments made by you! By the way, a beautiful little baby!
http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Kitty-Litter-Cake
The recipe for Kitty Litter Cake! (Made it for my stepkids..it was a HUGE hit!!)
How hillarious. It sounds delish though. I’ll have to give it a try. Thanks for the laugh & the recipe Rainingwolf.
Awwwwwww!! Such an adorable little snow white fur baby!! Please give her a big but gentle hug and kiss for me. I pray the Lord blesses you and Pulga always. 🙂
Very Cute! She (?) looks very young.
My first time on this sight. I love the fact there are so many animal lovers who get together and talk. I like reading all the opinions. Pulga looks like my Howie when he was a baby. Have a great day everyone!
Great to see you! You are welcome to the site. 🙂
!Muy bonita! ?Pero ‘Pulga’? Probablemente una gatita dulce, ?verdad? (Please pardon my terrible Spanish. Just practicing.) ‘Flea’ might grow BIG someday!
Adorable gatta, but (sorry to be a downer) her eyes appear to be blue. Blue-eyed white cats are usually deaf. Please check her hearing and be prepared to deal with it if she is in fact deaf. It won’t bother her, but you’ll need to be extra careful to keep her safe. She is indeed muy bonita.
I’ve known plenty of blue-eyed white cats that have had perfect hearing. They have only a slightly higher margin of congenital deafness than other white cats.
I love this photo! I have a white cat with blue eyes and she looks very similar to baby Pulga. I got her when she was 1 year old from the Humane Society, so I never got to see her when she was as little as this. My little white angel is deaf. Catfreak is right – you gotta be careful to keep these kitties safe. I was worried when I found out my kitty was deaf, but now I’m so happy about it – she relies on me to be her ears and she trusts me completely. Yay!
AW! So cute! One question, actually, two questions.. Why is your cat emo? And what gender is “it?” ADORABLE!!
I Have a kittten like that too!!!!
I think Pulga looks just like my snowball. They look so alike!!!
how is it a emo cat?
