Joan, do you know how the vet treated Comet the last time he had these same symptoms? I hope Comet and Kittyzee’s babies get over this very soon. When I hear a sneeze, my ears prick up instantly because if it’s viral (as you know it most often is), you know it can be hard to clear. I use the lysine, too. If it progresses, I usually give an antibiotic b/c bacteria will take advantage of the kitty’s lowered immune system. Hopefully, none of the kitties will need that.
I’ve told y’all that I’ve fed about 35 (over time, not now only 24) TNR kitties over the last 15 years. However, there is one cat who is very much smarter than I. For at least 10 years she has avoided being caught. I’ve done everything and failed every time and, as you know, she has gotten pregnant over and over. Now she’s pregnant again and I cannot kcatch her! Sometimes she goes into the woods (as she normally does-she’s not a yard cat) and comes back out not pregnant but doesn’t bring me babies. I’ve followed her into the woods but she eludes me b/c I can’t get into the areas she runs into. I don’t know what happens to the babies and don’t really want to think about it.
On two occasions, I’ve given her a little valium or ativan (with the permission of my vet) and she’s gone to sleep in the yard. But, as soon as I’m about to pick her up, she zooms off! Dummy me, should have placed the net over her before trying to pick her up. I’m going to try this approach again-with the net-and maybe finally I can get her. Poor thing, all these pregnancies have taken their toll on her. I would welcome any suggestions about how to catch her,
I need to post some posts in response to some of y’all’s but must get to the office and I’ll be back this evening.
