Okay my mom brought me a kitten saturday augst 23rd. I figure that he is about 3 weeks old as he is just starting to walk and is still wobbling, as well his teeth are coming in.

I have been feeding him goat milk and stimulating after every feeding. He is peeing however I have yet to get him to poop! I don’t know what else to do this is my first kitten rescued this young! Some one please help!!!

    Welcome to TDK,
I wouldn’t worry about pooping just yet as they need some time to adjust to formula and kittens general only poop once every 2 or 3 days when they are that young. Just keep atimulating the kitten after each feed and poop should happen. Please keep posting about how the poop problem is going.
Here are some great links for raising a young kitten.

Great links MS 🙂 .. And yes as MS said you shouldn’t worry too much as it can sometimes take days for kittens under 5 weeks to produce a stool sample.. If your very concerned add a couple of drops of veg oil to the goats milk ..

Adding the constipation tag and link to Chaos’s guide on constipation, just in case:

But I agree with the others, give him a bit of time. You don’t know when he last ate or pooped and until they’re weaning, a lot of their food goes just on helping them to grow.

Thank Heavens for this website. My husband and I just rescued a little bitty guy because he was so pathetic looking. He had such a bad eye infection that they were literally glued shut and so swollen he looked like he’d gone a few rounds with Mike Tyson. The amount of pus that popped out of his eyes when I washed them was horrifying! Anyhoo we’ve been hand feeding him and boy does he love goat milk. I was concerned because we’d had him for a couple of days and hadn’t noticed any poo. I’d tried the warm cloth stimulation, no “go” (snicker) them found an old post from this organization about the TRIANGLE METHOD. Bingo. Worked like a charm. My little Biscuit was pretty mellow during the process, he didn’t squall like the kitten in the video. My husband named him Biscuit “cuz he’s so little he can fit on a biscuit” We don’t even know how old he is, I’m guessing 3/4 weeks, 5 max. Glad I have this place to refer to. I have always had babies, but never had one this little. Thanks for the help.

Awww, welcome to TDK, CR, we love kitten rescuers here. I’ve added the pink tag ‘orphans’, this will bring up loads of threads on helping abandoned kittens. And this set of videos is very good, tells you all the basics (including how to tell the age of your kitten). Anything else you would like to know, just ask and we will do our best!
