Hey all, I need some serious bout of the TDK white light today. My work is driving me absolutely batty. They must think I am super woman or something because they keep piling more and more stuff on me to do. I have told my boss I can’t handle any more than i already have and yet the work keeps coming. I almost walked out today I was so frustrated and mad. I didn’t but I am still very stressed about it.

I’m sorry you are having such a tough time at work. I have that happen to me and I hate it when people say ‘yeah but that’s job security.’ Excuse me, but there’s nothing secure about work stressing you to the point where you want to get up and walk away. I hope it bets better for you.

Sorry you are at the boiling point. Do all you can do and if someone comes and asks why you didn’t get something done, you point out that you already mentioned to your boss that you cannot get everything completed. As long as the boss knows, it won’t come back to bite you. I am sorry you are so stressed. Make sure you take a lunch break even if you do not have the time. Take at least 15-30 mins. You are entitled to 30 mins legally.

Hey Angel – Wanna hang out with me in the crazy corner? I came close to tears with the piles on top of other piles – all that need my attention ASAP! I’m stressed out at home too – taxes, paperwork, etc., but home is where Shaddo is so that helps. I am hereby channeling my own stress into TDK white light to you, Angel. I have noticed, however, that gazing on the day’s kitten does help, so I consider it mandatory that I take a few minutes each day for that. It sounds tougher for you, because I at least have an understanding boss. I know it’s easier said than done, but please hang in there. (deep breaths, counting to 10, visioning holding someone under water…)

    Sorry about work, ANgel!

When I have that much work at the office, I always ask Boss what is most important and needs to be done first. There is always something that can wait.

Hopefully you get to go home soon – and at least you weren’t on TDK being driven nuts earlier with Gremlins, disappearing posts, Twilight Zones etc!

    Angel and Joan – I had your problems last week and was reduced to tears after a phone call from a client. You have my sympathies. All you can do is your best and make sure the boss knows how hard you have worked. Maybe you can let everyone see a priority list so they know when they stand and they might appreciate how much you have to do. {{{hugs}}}}

I am personally hating my job today. I have 2 assistants. Both are male, one is 87 and the other is 27. If they both had been here today, they don’t work on Monday, I would have fired them both. I swear! They are driving me crazy. I won’t even mention the 15 member board that I answer to. Tonight is monthly board meeting night, joy, I can’t wait……

Hugs to Angel and Joan. I’ve been there, too, and started crying when I went out to dinner with the boyfriend a couple weeks ago because of stress.

OMG!!! Am I channeling Joan and Angel?! I almost walked out today too! “stuff it” was the expression I was going to use…and yes, it was pretty darn close to tears here too…

Oh Linda, I am sorry you are feeling so frazzled too. It is hard when the work load seems to become more than we can bear. As the economy goes into a recession, companies are going to make their staff take on more than they can handle so that the big muckie mucks don’t have to work too hard and can enjoy their company perks more (like working from home when one is sick instead of having to take off valuable paid time off).

Must be something in the air.

I work at a CPA firm and it is of course busy season, but I don’t think my bosss actually knows what all I do. I thought about just ignoring her message from earlier like she always does to mine. If they fired me they would have to hire 2 full and one part time person to do all the work that I have been doing. Last February I almost had a nervous breakdown because i was so stressed out. I told my boss that she had to stop and she finally did.

I am home for the evening now so I can relax (hopefully) and be ready to face it again in the morning.

Angel, this is your next hell months! I feel for you. You seem to be in a place I go into from time to time. Yes, your boss does not know what you do, and could care less, just get it done. Sound familiar? Yes, it would take two people to do your job if you left. Right again. Now take a deep breath and calm down. Do you like your job or love it? If answer is yes, most of the time, this is what hell week does to us. Now are you just venting, and most welcome, I may add, are you ok now? These are things we go through at every point in a job. Don’t cut off your arm to get back at them. All will be well soon, I know, not soon enough for you. One day at a time dear girl, it will work out. Til then, Mama sending hugs and comfort, that tomorrow will be a better day. Hang in there, all is well. Love Lynn

Angel and Joan, let’s go the TDK virtual den. I am officially wrapping you two in lovely warm quilts and parking you beside a nice, crackling fire. There are several sweet kittens tumbling about, and one of them, a tuxie, is trying to bat at the mini marshmallows in your cups of hot cocoa.

I put a tray of Godiva chocolates on one end table, and a charming little Siamese promised not to play with them. On the other end table are two plates of tea sandwiches and some lovely scones, and the butter is on a nicely covered dish on the coffee table. An orangie is guarding the butter, but he cannot be trusted.

Please sit and sip and munch and pet the kittens, and don’t worry. The rest of your TDK family will be praying for you two.

And also for the little Siamese — he is now going after the sandwiches!

Emma, you paint a beautiful picture. I can close my eyes and just picture the scene. Have you ever seen the Ideals magazines? That’s what came to my mind, with the kittens scampering about. Lovely. Thank you. So calming.
