We were discussing this earlier this month as to when you think Holiday music should start on the radio. I know it is already on some stations over the net.

I think it should start the week of Thanksgiving at the earliest…

A NYC station starts December 1st. The tv commercials started before Halloween!

What I have always found ironic is that the holiday season goes throughout December to January 1st. Ever notice that the holiday tunes pretty much drop off almost completely on December 26th? If you’re going since Thanksgiving, why not till New Year’s Day? Just sayin…

Yup, I agree…until New Years! BTW this morning I awoke to a few bars of “It’s beginning to look alot like Christmas”…yikes! They were just advertising it will soon start on my regular wake up station…must change the channel this weekend!

Heck, How The Grinch Stole Christmas (animated version – the BEST) was on the other night! Christmas Season is until Epiphany which is about January 6th I believe. Advent is the four weeks before the Christmas Season when all the Christmas music starts but it truly should go through Epiphany, but then again, it’s the commercialization so unless you listen to a Christian music station you won’t hear Christmas music after the evening of the 25th of December.

And in a Catholic Church (I don’t know about others) you won’t hear Christmas Carols during Advent but you will hear songs about the impending birth of Christ during Advent.

    Ugh, never.

I’m not quite in the never category. I’m not really into religion anymore and although I pray I put it out to the universe. Christmas is just another day to me. However, I do happen to love Christmas movies, especially old B&W ones.

I listen to talk radio (i’m such an old lady any more) so I rarely hear music anyway.

My objection is the fact that they get lodged in my head and it takes until St. Patrick’s Day to get rid of them 🙂

LOL! Oh, I hear ya on that one, Kilroy! I hate when that happens!

I wish it would not start until Thanksgiving and stay at least till New Years Day. Luckily I can’t listen to it unless I am at home, but if I go shopping I really don’t enjoy seeing Christmas stuff and hearing Christmas music while I am buying Halloween Peeps!!!!

Christmas decorations went up for sale in mid-October at Rite-Aid in Southern Ca. It was interesting to see Halloween goblin masks right next to Santa and his elves. They weren’t playing Christmas Carols yet though. Only a matter of time.

JBBM, who ya callin’ old? We’re the same age!

During the snow storm, I found the lyrics “oh the weather outside is frightful…” going around my head, which was fine as it was a Saturday and I didn’t care if it snowed all day!
