I’ve had this kitten for about a week and she loves her milk, on day 3 though she threw up the milk because my room made the milk too strong. I tried her with a little bit of kitten mince today and she loves it but I’m a little worried that she’ll get it up her nose, but back to the point I’m feeding her 20mls 5-6 times a day (3perday 3 at night) but as of yesterday she’ll start meowing realllly loud in between feeds which is why I tried the kitten mince. Please help I need it haha

    Hi Alva,

Welcome to TDKland. We are the fluffiest forum around. Thanks for adopting your wee girl.

We recommend Goats’ milk for kittens. Cats are lactose intolerant and can’t digest cows milk. Goats’ milk is full of nutrients, probiotics and gentler on their tummies. This can also regulate their poop. You can find it in the dairy section or the concentrate in the baking aisle. Mix the concentrate 1:1 with water or pedilyte. If, at any time, they seem lethargic put a dab of Karo syrup or honey in their mouth.

You can give her Goats’ milk until she 6 weeks old and then start mixing it with wet kitten food. This will make a gruel and is a great transition to only wet food. She should be eating only wet kitten food by 10-12 weeks.

Remember, kits can’t regulate their body temperatures so she must be kept warm. A cold kitten can’t digest food.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the reply she’s drinking kitten replacement milk. The thinking is she could be 5 weeks old it 4 and has even been trying to to eat our other cats dry food but that’s too hard for her so I pick her up every time

Alva, if I were you I would give her some wet food (the pate kind without any big chunks that she could choke on) and provide the KMR or goat’s milk on the side in a saucer for her to drink. Some kittens will wean themselves fairly easily, while others just want to keep on taking the bottle. Sounds like your little kitten is hungry which is why she is meowing between feedings.
