Happy Sunday all – well Miss Leela is certain now that she needs a sparkly necklace, I mean, collar! I caught her on hubby’s laptop earlier viewing some fancy-schmancy diamond web sites. *sigh* She does need a new collar, as her pretty pink one is falling apart. Comet’s is cool, blue with white stars that glow in the dark. Fits his purrsonality, and name, just right!
Cool, breezy and drizzly here in Jersey. Not quite sweater weather, rather a flannel shirt and jeans is the uniform of the day.
After yesterday’s craving, and not getting, apple cider doughnuts, I think I will make a simple apple spice cake in the crockpot. Guaranteed to make the house smell great!
Comet has a new middle-of-the-night game. It’s called “The floor is hot lava.” He walks from the bed to the nightstand to the laptop to the skybox to the chair to the dresser, and, unable to get to that other window, goes back to the bed. There was one casualty – a jewelry box from the 50s-60s became a victim of the lava. When I retrieved it this morning, I found a sizely gash in it from Comet’s desperate attempt to save it. *another sigh*

Lol at Comet’s midnight antics. My boys (human) used to play the hot lava game.

PG, your Sunday pics are precious….wee little panther…aww!

I did some grocery shopping to restock the fridge today then a couple hours of yard work cleaning up storm debris. Then I did a little yoga to try and save my back…lol. I left some blower and chainsaw work for hubby. Will go out and help him later if he needs help.

Our freezer stuff survived just fine….yay!

The lava game? So far my kits haven’t played it but now that I said…

I have to get Miss Gaea a new collar. Her collar is always red so I can see sneaking around the yard and the birds can hear her bell.

It’s a mild day so I’m doing so outdoor stuff.

LOL @ Comet’s shenanigans and the girl Diva’s and their collars …. I got Caddy a red one for the same reason PG, so I (or anyone) can clearly see it on her black fur …. so I know where she is, and others know she belongs to someone …. oh, and the bell also lets me know when she’s near ….

Abby’s sparkly collar is at least 10 years old, but was an expensive leather one studded with jewels ….. it came with a life time warranty, and I tell you it is as good as new today as it was 10 yrs ago! …. Cuddles also had one that was a tan leather with little silver mice on it …. she wore it also the last 10 years of her life …. I bought them at a specialty pet boutique, and for inside cats that wear them loose like a necklace, they are the most durable collars I’ve ever seen! … I wouldn’t put one on an outside cat, cause they need a breakaway kind …..

POG, I just informed Dorry that if he continues to press my buttons I just might trade him in for “Tinyhouse panther.” Not that I ever-ever actually would. But squee!!!!!!!!!
If Dorry sported a collar it would have to be leather with metal studs. 😉
Lagatta, fortunately I have not been plagued by moths. But I do have umpteen handknit sweaters so as precaution I’m trying this out:
    I bought a few plastic salt/pepper shakers at $Store.
Filled ea with Epsom Salts (way cheap at PJC,) like 1/4 way full. Makes a good absorbent base plus it’s what I use when I make my lavender bath salts.
Bought some cedar essential oil also at PJC, like $9 and it will last forever.
Placed a few drops in shaker. Placed a cedar oil soaked cotton ball on lid of shaker and closed shaker.(Keeps salts from spilling out, just in case, as getting oil on knits is a very bad plan.)
Placed said shakers in my storage bins plus hung one in closet.
Well for sure scent is subtle. Hope it works as preventative.
My Knitting Circle cohorts think this is a good plan as mothballs are as you said loathesome – toxic, plus the scent is a no-go.
Did likewise substituting lavender essential oil for lingerie drawers and bedding/linen closets. And gym locker. Very nice.
‘Cause for sure I’m not dishing out big bucks for fancy sachets when the DIY route might work.

I think they don’t make average collars like they used to. Shaddo and Jiggs were indoor/outdoor kitties, so they always wore collars, and I don’t remember changing them this often. I might either go to Beastie Bands (I think ECB recommended them?) or see if PetSmart has more like Comet’s, as his has help up well.
Had a house panther in training in the house today. Dewey just went back out after spending a few hours inside. He followed me around, nuzzled Leela, Comet and Mac, and took a nap.

I got Miss Moppet a fancy collar with gems, which she proceeded to chew and chew until the end was such a mess, I couldn’t unhook it. She chews on LilBits’ collar.

I could see Dorry rocking a leather studded collar.

Nuzzled Miss Leela? And she let him? I’m sure the boys think he’s another playa. Mr. Dewey is feeling quite at home isn’t he?!

My Steelers 31-13 over NY Jets! I’m a happy camper

I could see Dorry in a leather studded collar too!
My indoor crew didn’t wear collars at all until around 2011, when a hurricane threatened Jersey. I decided then that even though they are microchipped, they should have collars on in case of emergency if they got out of the house.
Yay Steelers! Ok, I always root for the home team, but when they lose to a team my friend likes, it’s ok. A bit different when the Giants play, though. They are, however, disappointing yet again this season.

PG, did you celebrate as per the last time your team won? 😉 I’m probably just a tad envious of what’s legal in your n’hood. Not that I’d even get close to considering …

    Good morning all.
Guess what ! ! It may be fine here at the moment but rain is on the way. I think we have now had a month of rain. I am developing webbed feet and HRH Shadz is almost permanently asleep on my bed. This Spring is the wettest I can remember. Roll on summer.
JJ, just as you like hearing about my gardening to make things more bearable I do the same thing when it’s Spring and Summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Yes the thought of ‘that season’ is a bit of a downer.
Leela I hope you get a sparkly collar. 😉
AV, your brownies sound so good.
KJ, brrrrrrr on the weather change and Winter being on it’s way.
PG ! ! Thuddddd, that tiny house panther is so squuuueeeeeee ! Good to hear your friends weathered Matthew so well.
So terrible to read of the damage and loss of life in Haiti, they still haven’t recovered from the 2010 quake and now this.
Lagatta check out Pro-Pest clothes moth traps(Amazon have them). They are sticky cardboard that folds into a tent shape you can place in closets or on top of furniture. The moths are attracted by a pheromone and land in the sticky tent and it’s all over. It is safe for cats and humans. I use similar traps for pantry moth traps.
LOL at Leela taking the lead on the sparkly collar and checking out what is available. Oh no, not the old jewellery box. I had to chuckle at the ‘hot lava’ game description though.
Hi EC, the clean up after a storm is always back breaking work, just so glad it wasn’t worse.
Shadz is definitely NOT a collar girl.
Lunch time, I wonder what delicacies the kitchen holds.

J-the Giants are playing the Packers now. It’s never ideal when yours is the away team. Paws crossed

Hmm, was I supposed to wait until after the game to celebrate Colorado style? Oops I thought Justin was going to fast track the maryjane bill?

I quit complaining about the Spring rain because by the time Fall comes around we’re 1-3″ below normal. Webbed feet do pose challenges in the shoe department though. HRH is storing up energy for summer jinxes. We know she never get enough rest.

I agree MS. I see images of Haiti and how many tragedies they have suffered. Those who suffer the worst are those who can least afford to suffer the worst. *sigh*

Now Sunday Night Football so have a happy~

kj, I’ll try that too. I lost a beautiful grey loden overcoat to the **** moths, as well as some sweaters – I had to throw one out, the other two are just to wear at home now, not for work outside. I always have epsom salts as I have arthritis and sometimes have to do a foot soak. They are great for swelling.

And yes, that tiny black kitten just made me want to squeal with delight like a small human child.

PG, you’ve got my squee factor going what with the football meezer!!!
And doesn’t look like we’ll be doing things “Colorado style” anytime soon. 🙁 Justin has let us down on yet another of his umpteen promises. Unless he promised to go shirtless and pose for selfies as often as pawsible. Not that I can recall. *Sigh*

Lagatta, Epsom Salts are awesome. I soak in a bath with the stuff every night. Does a good job on my gym-sore muscles.

Almost bought me some unneeded yarn. Got e-mail offering me free shipping to CAD to celebrate our Thanksgiving. All set to order, then I checked out exchange rate. Totally not fun. Not a plan as I can get better prices at my CAD sites.

Good to see that everyone is surviving and coping with things, despite the weather! Sorry I’ve been absent so much – just snowed under with things, including of course our feline house guest. There isn’t much of her, but she seems to require an awful lot of my time, one way or another.

Mum lost one of her cats last week. Elvis and Raisin were littermates who had lost their previous human, and came to Mum around ten years ago. Both completely black apart from the golden eyes, but while Raisin is dainty and delicate to look at, Elvis was HUGE, made even bigger by having long, dense fur. Anyway . . . he departed this life at the age of seventeen, which isn’t bad for a tom. Raisin now has nobody to catch mice and voles for . . . she used to bring them in for her brother, and then let then run for him to catch!

Hope Matthew calms down soon, and peace returns in his wake. Keep safe, everyone.

Thanks, ECB. Mum and Raisin are sad but coping. Elvis lived a long and happy life, which is something to be thankful for.

    🙂
