Meant to mention much earlier today – can you believe it’s been 51 years since JFK was assassinated?

Mac seems quite content on his afghan with his birdie. I wonder, with the exception of the feather toy I gave him to play with outside, if he has ever had a cat toy?

Evening all! …. glad to see Mac is settling in so well ….

…. I always had to keep Cuddles and Abby’s litterboxes and food bowls separate … Cuddles ABSOLUTELY would not put up with another cat using her box, or eating from her dishes … she was SO persnicketedy!! sweet Queen!

…. Abby is used to her privacy, I think most of you remember me posting that Mr. AV made her a private place for her box in the bottom half of my linen closet in the bathroom … her covered box is there, and all I have to do to clean it is open the door, scoop – the toilet is right there … super convenient, and no one ever knows it’s there ….

…. had a nice evening and family dinner, and now relaxing …. tomorrow will be a combo of some work, some chores and some prepping for the upcoming holidays … overall easy 🙂

…. hope everyone has a great evening!

Greetings from late sunday afternoon. I have accomplished very little today but been busy, seems odd so let me explain. I had good intentions of doing many things but I had barely finished breakfast when daughter rings to say she has a baby bird in the ceiling and can I come and help her rescue it. We birdy was thoughtfully waiting for us when we went opened the entrance to the ceiling space so it was a case of pick up and down the ladder. I then kept wee birdy safe while the ladder was repositioned outside and we placed the nestling close to where the nest was, it’s up to nature now as to what the outcome is. Then shopping with daughter for petfood, she got possum and duck frozen cat food. I was barely home from that and get a call to say the garden exhibition we want to go to is on this weekend so raced out to see that before it closed. Wonderful and saw some great plant ideas. Result being one day gone by and nothing done I had planned to do.
Joan, love the Weekend Lounge, had to LOL at the pyro kitties, I’m out there with them now.
Buttons glad you are feeling much better, kitty love is strong medication. Wow Buttons,he Noodle has some strong connection to Buttons and Bob doesn’t he.
KZ, the pictures sound wonderful. I have had a picture eldest did at kindergarten many years ago and amazingly she discovered she had the ‘negative’ of that picture in the stuff she took from home so I am thinking of getting the pic I have framed for her. Poor Willow’s feet.
This post has taken a long time as I had to stop mid post and let HRH Shadz have a nap on my chest. 😀

Had another call out to sparrow in the roof space, this time it was two sparrows about this size.

By the time we got there the two escapees had disappeared hopefully back to their nest. Looks like we can hope they grow up and fly away without any more rescues.
PS. Ruby the cat was disappointed we didn’t let her look after them but we’re pretty sure she wasn’t going to look after them the right way.

Oh poor Willow and the burnt tootsies, I keep fearing that Kitty will do that, he insists on walking on the stove, big dummy.

Hey MS ::: hope all the birdies are ok your so kind for helping them! I saved a thrush once from a group of boys Kicking it down the street in a box . It was very you g so u brought it home and feed it worms for a couple of days and when I could see it was using it’s wings I released it and it flew away.

KZ your right it would be pretty nasty if Noodle burnt his only load baring paw.. I think he’s pretty smart so hopfully he knows not to jump up. Hope willow has learned his lesson.

I always had an average litter tray in the mobile. But when Buttons got bigger and with his disability we needed to get a giant tray for him so he could easily turn in the tray. Cats love big trays.

I’m feeling pretty happy now Noodle sent the whole night with me.. And after his breakfast and a pee he came back into bed with me again 🙂 and for the first time MS Moneypenny didn’t hiss at me when I had to pick her up from under her hiding spot. She hasn’t messed herself since the last time either 🙂

    Evening Deb & Buttons.
Deb that must have sucked monkey-toes with the puters down at work. Hope it all gets back to normal(if you get normal at ‘that place’).
Buttons we’re hoping the wee sparrows get to grow up too. Awwwwww, you were so lovely to rescue the thrush and take it home and feed it until it could fly away. We’re not seeing as many thrush here now for some reason sadly.
Yay Ms Moneypenny, you are trusting your new staff much more.
Just relaxing here before bed although Mr MS has chosen to fall asleep in his chair. I am waiting for HRH to come inside for the night, she is being very picky with her food again and hasn’t eaten much today. At least she got her kitten milk with Lysine added to it.

Buttons, it took the techs over 24 hours straight to get the computers back to where they are now, what a cluster that was. Only a touch over 3 hours left for today, think we are all going to breakfast this morning after we get off.

Interesting information that I did not know about Social Security….

    http://tucson.com/business/national-and-international/social-security-and-you-sugar-daddies-and-divorce-decrees/article_0528d094-7359-5de6-b36f-90b9ea3cac11.html

Especially the second half of the article, none of what is given to the divorced spouse affects his own Social Security:

“Now, here is what you can expect from Social Security. If you decide to file for benefits before age 66, you will always be paid your own retirement benefits first. Then they will look to your husband’s record to see if you can get anything off of his account. Your benefit can be supplemented up to a percentage of his: anywhere from about a third to a half of his, depending on your age.
If you wait until age 66 to claim benefits, you would have one other option. At that point, you could claim half of his and then at age 70, switch to 132 percent of your own.
And finally, no matter what you do, when he dies, and assuming that happens after you are 66 years old, you will get a full, i.e., 100 percent, divorced widow’s benefit.”

Lovely nights sleep:) Dru has finally convinced me that she should sleep in my room and she is very sweet about moving when I get restless. She also has an unerring sense of time- she always wakes me at 6:30am, which is the time I get up for work. She pats my face until I acknowledge her and is better (and more persistent) than any alarm clock. If only she would acknowledge weekends and holidays ………
I am thinking to get some L-Lysine for the princess and am hoping to buy low dosage capsules from the health food shop. The Druster is a mega-sensitive girl and dust seems to give her sore eyes. It is not a big problem but it is annoying. She is able to find herself somewhere dusty, no matter what I do. She’ll appear wih a cobweb headdress and then her eyes will start up running. I am hoping the L-Lysine will support her immune system and toughen her up a little. What would be the best dose for a 7 month kitty (I thought probably 500mg across the day)?
I truly love reading about all your cats and how they are so different. I have never bonded with any animal the way I have with Dru, although I have had many pets and been very fond of them. It is all new territory for me and hearing about all the different kitties is so wonderful:)

I haven’t trying the L-lysine yet for the kits, Buttons would know the best I think 🙂

I am getting it because of my oldest one, Red who is 16 yrs +. The old man came to me with a mega infected mouth and all of his teeth except for the little front fangs were pulled and he has to take steroids for one week every month, he is in excellent health and I want to ensure he stays that way. The other two are 7 + 9 yrs old so it can’t hurt them either.

Oh poor Red- I hope he feels much better soon. I will wait and see what Buttons thinks about the L-Lysine (if she has a moment). Dru hates me bathing her eyes (am trying tea presently- interesting on a white-faced cat) and she is really not bad enough to see a vet but it is a recurring issue.
Madam is currently racing round the room at some speed. She has just been ‘rescued’ from being shut in a bedroom for a terrifying half hour and is very vocal on the subject. Poor baby- life is tough:)

    Good Morning all!

…. Judith, I’m so glad you and Dru have developed that special bond … it’s different with each cat (animal), but some are so very special and strong (like me and my Abbers) …. enjoy this special pet!!!

…. I also might try the l-lysine … not that Abby has any health issues, but she does get lots of plaque on her teeth, had to have 7 double teeth removed when she was young (apparently a Siamese trait) …. but preventative is my goal, don’t want her to get any gum infections …..

…. Buttons, it sounds like MS Moneypenny is getting more and more comfortable, and Noodle is calming down about not being the ‘new kid on the block’ anymore …..

…. wacky weather here will be up to 82 today (warm & muggy) …. than back down to 60 on Wednesday …. hope the roller coaster temps won’t produce colds …..

…. so glad I got some holiday shopping done yesterday, today is a mish/mash of chores, work and decorating ….. actually enjoyable/easy!

…. hope everyone’s Sunday is going well!
