Good morning all it’s an overcast day that can’t decide what it’s going to do.
ECB, I loved that picture of Lucy when you first shared it with us. Still thinking of her and willing her to be found.
I remember learning about Palm Sunday when I was little and attended Sunday School classes at our Church but I have never seen it celebrated with palm fronds etc.
Joan LOL at your Mum’s explanation of why your Dad considered Palm Sunday your official birthday, she could well be right. 🙂
KJ, you were lucky to miss the flooding, how horrid it must to be flooded in cold weather.
AV, give Cuddles and scritch from me please, I’m sure she will settle back in with you after a short period of obligatory huffiness as befits her royal personage. 😉
    Waving at Deb and SNS.

I’m sure Queen Cuddles will adjust fine; glad dau will get to visit her next week.
Glad you were spared the flood, KJ – what a headache.
Nice pic ECB – thinking of Lucy several times every day.
Hi Nirmal – sure was a nice day, eh?
Hey MS – enjoy your day!

Whew! …. finally, an end to a long day! …… Got Dau packed up and moved ….. the Queen is home (not happy about it) and has already given Abby an obligatory ‘hiss’ of non-welcome! She gave Mr. AV and I a tongue lashing (she’s always been a loud talker) the entire car ride home (90 min) but managed to keep her bodily fluids in, so things went as well as possible….. I made Dau give me one of her tee shirts out of her laundry that has her scent on it, so Cuddles is curled up with that on ‘her’ chair in Dau’s room…… she will be thrilled to see her next weekend!

…. our church celebrates Palm Sunday with palm frons, usually marched in by our sunday school children, and to the glorious music of our very talented choir and pipe organist! ….. my children always participated, it was great fun, and always a photo opp!

Oh yes, I’m so glad that my area of bldg was unaffected by flooding. Although we are experiencing extreme thunderstorms at present, expected to continue through tomorrow, with unusually warm temps, like +20 C, then supposed to drop way down to +9 C by Wed. I’ll believe it when I feel it LOL. Knew something was amiss when I came home this am to find peeps emptying huge pails of water out the window, very 17th century, for a sec thought that they were doing a super-thorough Spring cleaning, but no they were literally baling out their apt! One of our volunteer bldg. administrators checked my hot water tank and I should be good for another 6 yrs. He told me that they need to be replaced every 10 yrs. News to me. Also glad that I live on top floor.

oh everyone has a separate water tank in your building? is it a very old building?

KJ, thunder storms and wildly changing temperatures, it must be Spring.
Oh very 17th century with the buckets emptied out of the window, lucky it was only water. Only 10 years for a hot water tank? Where’s the quality in products gone I wonder. Mum has a 60+ year old cylinder in her house and it is made from cardboard too. Things are not made to last now, guess there’s no profit for the corporations otherwise.

@moon – cardboard? really? and it lasted that long?! that’s incredible! no, it’s true…we had lost our hot water for awhile in 2007 or 2008 i forget. we finally replaced it after 14 months….i think it was in 2007. and we were told the same…10 years is the avaerage life of a water heater.

I have heard that is the average length of time for most modern appliances. They are not made to last much longer. What a waste of resources.
I believe the hot water cylinder may have a thin layer of metal on the inside but it’s old.

so true. we had a microwave from i think 1974, and that thing kept on going until we moved. i think it was tossed out for the second time (my father got it out of soemone’s trash the FIRST time), and probably would have still worked. lol
