The United States of America celebrate their history and their country on Independence Day today, July 4th. It’s a federal holiday since 1941 and it commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

I celebrated the 4th on the 3rd because it’s my nephews’ birfday.

4 July – My grandmother would have turned 116 if she were still alive.

Somehow my kits missed out on the lesson about independence. Sampson still needs LOTS of cuddles because I dared take him to the vet last Friday (he was feeling poorly, now much improved), and both cats because Mr PM and I dared leave the house for a whole 7 hours on Saturday, and just coz they are cats and need lots of cuddles.

Happy Independence Day!
Glad Sampson is feeling better, PM.
Not much happening here for the holiday. I might go to the pool, there’s a party there this afternoon. Weather permitting, hubby will grill later too.
For now, I don’t have to be anywhere, so cuddling with Comet, Mac and Dewey!

It’s a hot firecracker of a day here today! No plans except to grill later on this evening!

Willow tried to snuggle earlier but he punched holes in my guts and he’s so big it feels like a deep tissue massage. I need to trim toes but can’t do it without Mr. KZ holding each cat. Later. They don’t mind it but it’s not their favorite pasttime…but they do get treats afterwards, which they love.

Cuddling on demand? Sampson and his sib have you well trained, PM.

LilBit is gentle when he kneads me but he has to stomp all over to get settled. 🙄

I see Miss Leela doesn’t yield to cuddles. Is that cause all the boys are there? 😀

It’s another hot one. We seem to stick in the high 90s this summer.

Happy 4th all! Hot here, but my porch has big fans and a tolerable cross breeze. It’s a large veranda kind, so has plenty of room for my grilling station & accessories. Won’t matter if it rains ….
My legs always sport numerous scratches/holes ….. Caddy likes to sit in my lap, and can’t help kneading…..

Think that today might vie for privilege of being hottest/most humid day of wk!

Very happy to be inside with A/C on, even though I like heat. Even working out in A/C is a bit of a drain one one’s resources.

After getting input/advice (yes, I do pay heed on occasion) LOL, looks like a move is not plan for this yr. Agent tells me that what I like would be way expensive, plus the very process of moving is major stressor – and this I so don’t need. Neither my place or condo down hall which is also owned by my landlord has been sold and if I renew I’m here util Dec ’19. And if they do sell agent says new landlords might be very nice peeps who see the place as investment. And next yr, other options might be open.

But my unsafe floor will be fixed and perhaps non-opening window. And I think that I have found a good pro painting co, so this could freshen place up some.

Now in process of usual attempt to get landlord to know a bit off rent, which is not bad to start with but if I can get it lowered a bit it’s to my benefit.

But right now I’m falling asleep sitting up. Good that I went to gym in a.m.. Thought I’d knit, but catnap seems about to claim me.

Napped for a bit. Seems that like a kit I slept in weird position. 😉 Now I feel just that mixed up as to what time of day it is!

Someone told me that one actually fry an egg on the hood of a car in this heat. Think a fry pan might be the better plan as i’d have to try this “experiment” on someone else’s car, not having one of my own! They might not apurreciate scientific inquiry!

Saw someone cycling with earbuds on which is now against the law here. Wonder if I should have made a “citizen’s arrest”. Does anyone actually do this? Did they ever? According to INet one is supposed to request culprit’s cooperation until police arrive. Right! 🙄

BTW in CAD we don’t get “Mirandized”. Some peeps think that we do. Too may L&O reruns! LOL

Miss Leela likes to cuddle, but only if it’s just about her. Usually there are too many boy cats around.

I once made dashboard cookies during a heat wave. For the second day, there were storms all around, but hardly any rain today. Lots of thunder and lightening though!

Finally made it here, couldn’t sign in last night.

LOL, cats seem to have the idea of independence all muddled up, sometimes they are extremely independent and want nothing to do with us- except at meal time and then they are our shadows and constant companions. Gentle headbonk for Sampson after his vet visit.
JJ, I can imagine a lot going on at the community pool today. Cuddles for Dewey, Comet and Mac. No Leela?
KZ, lol, some people pay $$$ for a massage like that and you get it free.
PG, I love reading about the various cat cuddlings, LilBit is a stomper.
AV, holes and scratches and kneading and a breezy porch.
KJ, hope you can get a bit off your rent for all the floor and selling troubles of recent times. Gosh it must be hot there if frying eggs on car hoods is possible. I have been reading that records have been broken and new ones set across Europe, USA, Canada, Eurasia and the Middle East for high temperatures.
JJ, dash board cookies? ? Ohhhh good old Summer mountain thunder storms.
I know I have risen bread in the car on a sunny Winter’s day.
I haz a happy. While I write this I am listening to Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood narrated by Richard Burton and others. To me this is bliss and it was a little present I bought for myself that arrived in the letterbox a short few hours ago. I fell in love with it years ago at High School. I love the way Dylan Thomas describes such mundane things in amazing ways that paint wonderful mind pictures.
Today began with yet another hard frost then closely followed by the sun and no wind to make a gorgeously warm day.
