After yesterday’s composting efforts the Staff and Agency kitties are about to reap the benefits of their ecological purrsuits, as they spend the better part of the day taking care of the Café garden.

Kits and flowers are so cute. After all the composting, I better have some flowers. Alas, I murder live plants. Now, I have silk flowers. They’re still alive and purty…so far.

    Have a happy~

PG, silk flowers work for me too! I change them up whenever the inclination takes hold of me and they look quite realistic. No watering, no mess, purrfect.

Appt went well. In that some stuff that I take is getting dose cut by half, which ideally will see me not losing sleep for like 2 nights running. And we’re adding some OTC stuff which ideally will help settle my guts. It’s a complicated situation which I cannot go into and some things I have to just live with. Arm aches from shingles shot but no worse than from other vaccinations. Plus I’m way tired and underrun. Stress does not see me hitting the noms. This is old story. But anything that one goes through is connected by what has come before. For everyone I’d think.

Considered doing some online coursework, but not motivated. Think a catnap would be the better plan. Before heading on out to spin class.

Flowers and kitties are so cute together! Alas, I can’t have indoor plants either, as Comet eats them. Whenever I have fresh cut flowers, they are either on top of the fridge or on hubby’s dresser. I’m all for silk flowers too!
I forgot it was Mac’s b-day on Monday. The date changes every year because I made it Memorial Day Monday, which was approximately when he showed up on our doorstep. He’s about 12.
Moved lots of straw today to clean up the yard. Soggy wet straw is heavy! A few shelters are coming down, and I want to rearrange and refresh the remaining ones, but that’s for another day.

    Good afternoon all.
Love the ‘butterflies are flying flowers’ and ‘lilies fly further than roses’ pics.
Another brisk morning followed by a glorious sunny day.
JK, LOL at ‘watch your step’ pic.
KJ, it’s good that your appt went well and some meds are being cut and adjusted. Here;s hoping that the change helps your poor stomach. Time to slow down and be kind to yourself now that the warmer weather is here. Sit back and smell the flowers, walk through a park slowly and feed the birds even if it’s only for 30 minutes.
    Happy Birthday Mac.
JJ, soggy wet straw would be excellent in the compost, adds carbon when it is rotted down.
Another sideline of composting is the plants that pop up from seeds I have thrown out. I get free pumpkin plants, tomato plants and have even had an avocado tree grow in the compost, also plenty of potato plants.
I had just sat down to lunch a while ago and I hear the tinkling of a bell and then a squeak and Miss Tinker popped in again for a visit. She investigated all the lounge furniture, tried to trip me up and then she was off to lie on the sunny balcony. I think I can accept her fleeting visits. 🙂

MS, that’s just what I thought when I saw that rotted straw! I wondered about free plants too; I put pumpkins on one of the straw cubes last fall.

    LOL, It’s your Mom’s fault. 😆
I purposely put the pumpkin seeds out in the compost just for the free well fed plants that I can transplant to a better spot later, many people won”t put pumpkin seeds of potato peelings into the compost but I find if I have too many free plants then I can share or just pull them out.. I have had a plethora of Cape Gooseberry(golden berry or husk cherry) plants popping up all over this past Summer which was wonderful as the crop failed last year. Sadly just as the fruit was ripening this year the plants died, possibly heat stress. 🙁 I do love them straight off the plant and out of their lacy case.

Ah yes, water a flower. I stopped putting flowers in vases when I discovered my sweet Apple Blossom was using them for target practice.

    Happy Birthday, Mac!

MS – we’re eating compost pumpkins here in Melbourne at present. Yum.

PM, there’s nothing quite like a compost pumpkin. My preference is buttercup pumpkins. I grew a monster this year and will save the seeds from it in the hope they will do the same at the end of this year.
