This very Special Day was created by the “Hugs for Health Foundation.” It encourages us to give hugs to those who need them.

The gremlins are holding Photobucket hostage. Pics to come, ideally by a.m. 😕

GAAAAHHHH! Oh those kitty hugs are just the best! I love when my cats wrap their arms around me and rub their heads all over my face. Mr. KZ just looks on shaking his head. I know they are marking me, but it makes me giggle.
What a nice cool morning after intense heat! Wish it would stay this way. I’m watching the hummingbirds on my front porch feeder. I changed the juice in there yesterday after the hot days thinking it needed refreshing. It must have, as they are on it more this morning. I have two feeders (one in front and one in back) and even though I have the hummies, I can’t see their nest in the trees by the patio. Disappointing, as I LOVE watching them care for their babies. I know they are close, but their nests are only the size of a walnut!

Oooh KJ, that white belly and all four paws reaching for a hug – adorable! Kitten hugging the potato is too cute too!
How awesome that you have hummies to look at, KZ. I enjoy the birds on my walks. Hoping there are no nests in my yard because of my outdoor crew.
Hi Kandy, nice to see you!
I didn’t go walking again today, the street sweeper is in the community. Kind of defeats the purpose of walking/hiking in this park-like community. Will be nice to have clean streets though – it’s only been done in recent years.
I have to see about securing tickets to the MST encore performance. The vouchers are for a movie, not a particular one that may be sold out well before the show date.

    I should probably introduce myself

I have Essential tremor and will be having brain surgery starting end of August. It is a 3 step process. And it is for Deep Brain Stimulation surgery to stop my tremors.

I am an open book so ask me anything.

ECB also home schools her boys. I never heard of an Essential Tremor so I read up on it. Johns Hopkins indicated the DBS is relatively safe procedure so I hope all goes well for you. We usually refer to spouses by the TDKers name. So unless you say otherwise your hubby is Mr. Kandy. 🙂

hugz, hugz, kittahs, hugz – life doesn’t get any better. I bet MR. KZ is jealous. 😮

“Pix me up and is it tiem” are esp. adorable! I want to know how/why the kittah is on the potato.

KJ-I hope you’re able to get some rest.

Joan is spot on. I can’t have bird feeders/nests because Miss Gaea will find them and …
The only times for MST3K are in Boulder. I’ll have to keep checking for local theatres.

I should do something but my foot is hurting this morning.

    Cya and have a happy~

I’m gettin’ in on that group hug!
Today has gone all topsy-turvy on me. Not a deal breaker, but planned to do DIY spin class as sub instructor a %&*%*(^! Got up at right time, still feeling cruddy, but less drippy (ewww!) and more just tired and headachy, I know I don’t listen to good advice. Got to gym nice and early as hair appt after. Lo and behold my music/CD player/cell NOT in bag!!!! Moment of panic. Thought it might have dropped out of (open) bag on street!!! 😮 Asked around, raced home and there it was, laughing at me! As shoved everything back in gym locker before mega dashing out might have lost my cool Ray-Bans! 🙁 Or might have shoved them in locker. 🙂 Called gym to check that at least I had locked my locker. The place where among other necessities, like duplicates of my shower/hair stuff/emerg ice pack/bandages/xtra gear, I store my way expensive spin shoes. Made it to hairdresser on time where he did his usual purrfect trim, although I feel too cr**py to care. As pre usual I’ll appreciate it more tomorrow. Raced home and did ASAP work. Will chill and go to 6:15 spin class with super-fab instructor. Prefur to work out earlier, but too zonked to DIY today. Maybe change of routine will benefit me in long run. Hope that all are having a less stressful and more fun hump day!

Sorry your foot is still bothering you, PG. Hope it heals up and feels better soon.
Hi JK – a group hug is a fabulous idea!
It’s nice to “meet” you, Kandy! We are a small group, but others drop in from time to time, and personally I find TDK to be the fluffiest site on the Internet. The cafe is a nice place to hang your hat and chat about just about everything. Plus there’s a new kitten to admire each day on the main page!
I don’t have kids, been married for almost 27 years and have always had cats. My current generation is 8 year old Miss Leela, a spirited black cat, 6 year old big boy Comet, who hails from Amish country PA. He’s black with white armpits and a white tip on his tail. Lastly there’s Mac, approx 10, who moved onto our back doorstep about 2 years ago. He’s a tabby and didn’t seem to belong with the other outdoor kitties, so after a couple of vet trips we brought him in. We believe he was part of a TNR program and was returned to the wrong area. This trio are indoor only. Last fall, I took over the care of a family of outdoor cats. They are spayed/neutered and friendly. Mama Cat is a feisty tortie who’s had a rough life (she’s had lots of babies). There’s a sweet diluted calico I call Berta, a version of her former caretaker’s name. There are 4 black cats. Triplet boys are Huey, Dewey and Louie, and the little female is Star. After a long career I’m currently not working, so caring for this group has been a joy.
Oh and as my screen name indicates, I’m from New Jersey. Specifically, the mountains of North Jersey!

Nice to find out more about you Kandy. I’m from Canada, Montreal, Quebec to be specific. I worked in advertising/publishing, (happily) left corporate world and now freelance as copywriter/translator. Or volunteer doing same, and spend a lot of time (too much according to “some”) at spin classes at gym, knitting and catering to my silver tabby Dorry’s every whim LOL. He’s my second kitty, I adopted him shortly after my very first kit/pet passed to the Rainbow Bridge, age 12, some 6 yrs ago. Having a kitty has so changed my life for the better! Oh, not to be scared, but I am considered to be a bit cutting edge, but IMHO that’s a city grrrl sort of thing! Hehehe. We may be few in the Café but we are mighty!

    Hi Kandy,

Denver, Colorado here. I enjoyed many years in the U.S. Navy. I used to volunteer for the local shelter but couldn’t keep my mouth shut and play the game so I’m no longer volunteering there. 😮 I moved here to be with my nephew and his family. I’m from New Mexico and been to many places so I don’t have any purrferred place. No, wait-Italy.

No hoomin kids as I purfer fur babies and loved many fur babies over the years. My current gang is Miss Gaea 7, an indoor/outdoor brown tabby Manx – LilBit 3, an Orange Tabby and the only guy – Miss Moppet 3, a grey/white fluffy, scruffy lean kittah. She’s 29″ from to tip of nose to tail.

Like KJ, I’m totally Type A. Even though I’m not working, I can still spin myself into a tizzy.

Guess what KJ? My great niece is steampunk!

Way cool re great niece PG! I now boast skull earrings in every shade of metal, might freak some peeps a bit and I should care because? Can’t keep my mouth shut either. Proactive rules! IMHO.
Just got back from super tough class at gym – might do the early evening thing again from time to time. Group had nice vibe. Strange how cold abates while I’m on a spin bike and then comes back in semi-full force. Purrhaps my head clears up, I don’t know. And thankfully found my what I assumed were missing shades tossed in locker from when I made quick dash out this a.m. Going to chill a bit with ice on slightly achy hip and watch last episode of “Barbarians Rising.” Whadya know – Rome fell! 😉

MS bursts into the Cafe and kitties scatter to the four corners. Sorry kits ! ! !
Haven’t been able to get here until now and what a day.
KJ, mine was a stressful day too. It began at around 2am when HRH insisted on going outside into the rain for a wee wee walk. Twenty sleepless minutes later I let her in and she continued to race up and down the stairs and and bed and generally be noisy. Then as I try to go out the door to get in the paper I find Mr MS has locked the screen door so I grab the key to unlock the screen door. Get ready to go out after breakfast and as the door slams shut I realise what I thought was the keys in my hand was in fact a head lamp Mr MS uses to get the firewood in after dark. Oh S__T ! 😯 😮 😯
Ring Mr MS at work – no answer – try again and still no answer. He calls me back minutes later and days he is on the way to rescue me. Remember it is Winter here so I stand around for 20 minutes thanking my stars that it isn’t raining. Needless to say I am stressed and tired now.
Haven’t had time to read all posts, but for Kandy
I live in New Zealand and have 2 adult children, a husband and Moonshadow the dappled black tortie who we adopted as a tiny rescue from the SPCA almost 15 years ago. We are former sheep farmers but live in a coastal city now.
I am going to put my feet up and relax before I have to cook dinner.
PG the kitty is in love with the potato, you never know where love will be found.
JK, the rose gave it’s all for all out and your enjoyment.

That was certainly quite a day MS. 😮 Good that Mr. MS was able to come to your rescue relatively quickly!
