    Here’s one for ECB’s boys.

We don’t have squirrels here and I’ve never seen one in real life but they do look rather cute, however cute can have a habit of being a nuiance when it comes to nature.

I love squirrels….outside, not so much in my walls. ECB, I told hubby about your experience while away on your honeymoon about squirrels between your pillows. I am freaked out that they will get inside the house..of course the cats are hoping they do, but can you imagine the chaos if they did?!! Also reminds me of middle granddaughter when learning to talk, she called them sqwirtels….and we still call them by that name. 😯

    MS, as last night’s post:
Oh, no – not bananas – my potassium laden “friend”!!! If I eat, say 2 a week will I glow in the dark!!! Seems bit of “urban myth” as known to be sovereign source of energy/potassium.
Dorry seems to have covered from his affront as he didn’t exhibit more than his usual acceptable form of malevolence as in waking me up a bit earlier than expected (and I of course give in), and trying to take a nip out of my leg as I was obviously not moving quickly enough for his liking. 😉
You certainly “squirrelled” around some to find those add’l cute pics! Squirrels abound in my n’hood, the grey variety which some unkindly refer to as “rats with fluffy tails” as they are in fact considered rodents. Still there is the fluffy tail factor to redeem them. In Ontario, one province over, they have pure black squirrels, I did see one here once and tried to get a pic. Basement Squirrels, but with gorgeous coats. Then again those darned Plague Rats back in C13 were also black. Ahhh!!!!! 😉 OK, so just the other day I did see a squirrel trying to carry like a huge piece of French bread, almost as big as he was! A gourmet squirrel or écureuil as they’d say hereabouts.

Morning all! ….. today makes me think of Mr. AV’s ‘squirrel relocation project’ from a couple of years back ….. I had planted a spice garden, with little tomatoes, all kinds of spices and some greens …. well, the squirrels ate the onions, chives and tomatoes as soon as they came out …. so being the kind-hearted animal lover, Mr. AV bought a trap and started trapping them, then having our handyman let them go about a mile away in a large park …. 11 squirrels, 1 possumn and a neighbor’s cat later, and all the squirrels returned home, and apparently brought friends – we finally realized it was a futile project – ……. so we gave up on certain plants, and only grew what the squirrels wouldn’t eat LOL ….

…. hope everyone is having a good hump day, glad Dorry is ‘over’ the strange cat smell you brought home, KJ – how dare you? (just kidding, LOL)

…. and as I’ve always contended – bananas are EVIL yellow fruit!!!!

    Morning efurryone!
Including the squirrels who are staying well away from the kitties – outside the Café – and nowhere near the veg garden LOL.
AV, Mr. AV is truly a gentle soul, both of you relinquishing your garden so as not to diss the squirrels. And I do respect your views on bananas, ‘cept I could be one banana away from potassium deficiency, so I have made peace with the yellow fruit. 😉

Good Morning – Squirrels can be funny; there really is true meaning behind the phrase “nutty like a squirrel”. They can also be quite pesky, like when they take over the bird feeder. I don’t mind them eating some of the seed, but they can be very piggy. My father lovingly referred to them as “tree rats”.
Very few cats succeed in catching a squirrel, they are experts at sharp turns, so the cat will only get them if the squirrel makes a critical error in judgement, or, of course, gets cornered. They are fascinating to watch.
When he was outside, Mac would share his food with them. They didn’t see him as much of a threat; a squirrel was often just a short distance away from him.
I enjoy watching squirrels play. They chase each other around and make funny sounds. They have come very close to me if I sit really quiet outside, and once one ran right across my lap!

Wow, a lap squirrel Joan! That said, they may look sorta cuddly, but I would not risk getting too close as they probably carry rabies! Same goes for n’hood raccoons which I have always longed to stop and cuddle. 😯 Guess I’ll stick with Dorry to fulfill that need LOL.
Freezing cold out yet again, supposed to get to like -10 Celsius end of wk – then and only then – will I consider releasing flip-flops from their winter home as somewhere in cupboard. LOL

Sunny around here this morning but getting cloudy – expecting some snow later. Looks like South Jersey will get more this time.
Very quiet outside, but I heard something up in the tree, followed by a couple of twigs falling. Looked up and yep, there’s a squirrel!

OK – it’s a lunchtime reminder from local squirrels:
    mutts pizza
    Pizzzzza = yum!

It has actually stopped snowing – at least looks like Winter is back.
So, may just head out to purrfect patio for a few…c’mon Tux, to our lounge chair!

    Love that Mutts, JK!
Have a mushroom chowder brew going in the crockpot, a mix that I had in the cupboard. It smells kinda “meh” so we figure if it doesn’t taste right, call for a pizza.

    Good afternoon all.
ROTFL at AV and KJ’s banana comments. I expected nothing less from AV on the subject of the yellow fruit. KJ, google the radioactive banana fact- you won’t glow either.
LOL at Dorry getting revenge for your indiscretion with the hairdressers cat. With any luck he is over it and things can get back to normal.
Oh wow, jet black squirrels? How wonderful. We found a community of black rabbits on one of the farms we were on, they certainly looked amazing out in the open.
AV, love reading about the squirrel relocation, it always makes me laugh.
Oh Joan, how lovely to have a wild squirrel run across your lap, who got the biggest surprise I wonder.
Hi jK, good to hear Otto is still around.
Sunny around here again too (ducks low flying shoes) 😆 In fact it was another very hot night, today is easier to take with a good breeze.
Hey Joan, those squirrels must know it’s their big day and are celebrating by chasing cats.

    Phew MS,
After thoroughly acquainting myself on banana facts I feel reassured. Only want my “glow” to come from being soaked in sweat after spin class, as they say “men sweat, women glow …”
I would certainly like to see a Basement Rabbit!
At least the shoes that I shied your way are soft suede loafers and not the kick a** heels! 😉
Seems that Dorry is over his grudge, somewhat quicker than I get over mine, I plan to work on this trait this year (have been saying this for last umpteen years LOL.)
