Taking Sam (the little black Sams club kitten) to the vet at 2:15 today. I was up most of the night thinking and praying about the situation. While I think we were the family to get him (or her) out of the parking lot, I’m thinking fostering is too much for us right now….with trying to sell our house and all. When we show the house I’d have to undo the kitten room/bathroom arrangement every time…and load the kitten into a crate and take him with us (have no idea how hard that will be….I’ll see before his vet appt today i guess.). I already have an exhausting routine of things I do before a showing.

I knew from the beginning we couldn’t keep him. Four is our limit…I feel sure of that. But I was hoping to foster. I’ll have to talk to the humane society about options. Of course we’re not even sure yet if he is able to be tamed. But I suspect he could be.

So, office mate may be leaving for day. Found out Sammy/relative’s dog that currently lives w/them got a hold of some chocolate! (Little cordial cups.) Hubs wasn’t sure if ate any or just ripped open bag w/box. (No one is now home to be responsible for dog! 🙁 ) I told her to go home because this is serious!

ECB, good luck with little Sam.

Best wishes for office mate’s dog, JK.

Please keep those vibes coming, though I’m still waiting, sigh…

Hi Everyone! I love today’s Woodstock cafe. I was a bit too young and way on the other side of the country when Woodstock happened. I had not even heard of it until reading an article about it as part of an assignment for an English class(!). But I certainly had the black light posters, psychedelic music and all. I remember one day my BFF and I were working on a summer school project that involved day-glo paint and a black light. Of course we were in our bikinis because we were also sunbathing at the same time (of course!), and ended up painting ourselves all over with the paint and laughing as we glowed under the black light, a la Goldie Hawn on Laugh In.

Oh and 1967 – the Summer of Love! Another friend and I were totally planning to run off to San Francisco for the Christmas vacation. A few years ago I found some of the notes we passed; yes – we were really going to do it, and we figured that $28 should be enough to see us through!

Ah – those were the days!

Joan, re: 45s, on the news the other day they said that albums (vinyl) are making a comeback among younger listeners, and one of the reasons given was the interactive process of turning the record over halfway through! Everything old becomes new I guess; we were thrilled when ‘CD players’ came out because they played the whole album in one go!
Sending additional positive vibes your way “Crazy… I mean like, so many positive waves…maybe we can’t lose, you’re on!” (Oddball/Kelly’s Heroes 1970)

*another kittie paints a pretty flower on Joan’s cheek using Mary Quant crayons” Ongoing positive vibes on the way!

JK, blessings that your uncle comes through surgery and recovers speedily

ECB hope that little Sam kitty soon gets on firm footing (pawing?) towards his furever home.

Before I savour my own latte and do some (unpaid) work, I’ll leave you all with this blast from the past and one-hit-wonder that the crew are dancing to.;-)

I heard a song – can’t remember which one – that the DJ said the name of the song and noted that they played part 1 and part 2, because the whole song did not fit on one side of the 45.
I’ve got about 100 albums I should consider selling. There are a handful that I will not part with. When I bought my linear tracking turntable I thought it was the coolest thing ever! There’s the Joe Walsh albums, where he wrote notes on the inner vinyl. And Tom Petty, who, at the end of side one, announced that it is the end of side one, and we will wait a minute for listeners to sit down, or stand up, and turn the record over. After a brief pause, he would say ok, here’s side 2. Ya can’t do that with CD’s! Oh and when I started my CD collection, I got a lot of ‘best of’ ones. Someone just asked me if I have Fleetwood Mac ‘Rumors’. Nope, I’ve got the best of, and “Gold Dust Woman” is not on it.

Lost all of my 45s in the flood of ’84. Bummer, man.

I got loads of albums, but my turntable doesn’t work…… don’t even make the parts or needle for it anymore :/

….. I have ‘Rumors’ ….. love that one!

PC “interactive process of turning the record over halfway through” – what’s next – kids actually “writing a note” instead of texting (usually while walking and completely nonchalant about crashing into passersby)??? LOL

JK the “aged rock stars” eerie but in a cool way. *KJ had mega crush on Jim Morrison before he was lost to drugs and booze*

And Joan, the crew is playing this *improved* version of the album by special request from me to you!

Oh yeah, Best of The Doors, a 2 cd box set. Cover was a shirtless Jim, nice!

Thanks for the improved Rumours! Haven’t heard it in a while!

I should look for a ‘best of the 60s” compilation – just for those one-hit wonders (thx KJ!) And IMHO, the ‘best’ of Fleetwood Mac was when they were just a Brit blues band, before the CA duo joined up (Mystery to Me, Bare Trees, Heroes Are Hard to Find). OK, Landslide is a cool song, and props to Stevie for growing out of her ‘twirling’ stage and hanging in to become an ‘old lady’ rocker! 🙂

Still have a stack of vinyl LPs been meaning to take to used record place/for about 3 years now, LOL!
Thanks for purry thoughts on Uncle Buzz KJ & PC…no news is good news IMHO.
    Officemate shared on goggie Sammie:
I called the vet, since it was a small amount, they suggested to keep dog hydrated and to give her a few slices of bread…oh well…guess I won’t have any cordial cups for turkey day. Took her outside for about 1 hour for baffroom fun/LOL!

OK, so back to part 2 day 3…feelin’ kinda groovy/NOT! Time for another cuppa java, later kits.

Anyone ever see the “Ed Sullivan Show” (repeats quite often on PBS during old clips/pledge season)? The one with the “Doors” doing “Light My Fire”? Jim was told that the line about “get much higher” was too “unfluffy” and to leave it out. But he sang it anyway! Ed was very not happy. It’s on youtube I think. Song is lengthy with several minutes without vocals. I mentioned to someone *who knows way more about 60s rock than me* that Jim seems to be “not really there”. She replied “My dear, he wasn’t”. LOL

And PC, yeah, Christine had a much better voice than Stevie, but Stevie’s black veil claptrap got everyone all worked up LOL.

JK, lots of white light and healing vibes to your uncle. Meant to tell you earlier.

Sounds like Sammie is going to be okay.

I saw Stevie Nicks in concert, complete with her fifty shawls.

KJ, I do remember that from the Ed Sullivan show. Well I don’t remember it on it’s first run, I remember the story!

The drum and bugle corps I was in played “Light My Fire”.

Luved the Doors. Remember going to teen nite club/LOL Up North as Beneath the Street/in basement with dancin’ movin’ groovin’ when was around 16…boss groovy fun!

So got encouraging update on uncle Buzzy from cuz who had a chance to stop by hospital today:
Went over to the hospital about 1:30 – Buzzy was just getting out of surgery and the girls (Phyllis and Dorothy) were waiting for the Nurse to take them back. Surgery went well, no complications, 4 by-passes – not sure what else, suppose we’ll find out more later. 🙂
    Yay
