Kitties as nurses? Hmmm … following orders is not exactly in their nature. Now giving orders, they excel at this! Plus they also provide therapeutic healing.

Why do I get the feeling that going back to sleep is bad idea? Nurses are awesome and the heart of healthcare. However, kitty nurses would be even awesomer…well, except for the chloroform!

Ewww-I stumbled on a contest for body builders. Both the men and women creep me out. Not that I’d say it to their faces. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I’m watching Euronews and they just showed a tanker running into the pier in the Canary Islands. Talk about an oops!

    Cya and have a happy~

Who wants to nurse this wee kit?

Good morning – your meds, take them, heeheehee!
I like a good toned look as well as the next purrson, but extreme body building isn’t for me.
Hey MS, TDKr WWM needs that t-shirt!
Back in the 90’s-00’s Jiggs was my healing kitty. He was very sensitive to emotions and knew when I needed his healing powers. These days, Leela’s leg rubs are a powerful cure-all.

PG, chloroform Basement Cat scares me!!!! Right!

JJ, Dorry likes to walk all over me – true enough figuratively! But each night I say “Dorry can I pleeze have a back rub?” Now I don’t know if he just understands the tone of my voice but he prowls on my back in a systematic way that is awesome, better than a 2-handed massage by a hoomin I think, and no long speeches about what I should be doing to enhance my lifestyle, ie drinking (water) and whatnot that would require my changing anything hehehe.

So plumber or rather his employee is here. Big tough guy with tats and all, OK enough KJ. LOL. He agrees that prob has nothing to do with city water pressure as landlord maintained. Srsly?

He’s gone to truck to get tools. Dorry is hiding under bed. I hope that this is quick fix. L8R.

So bathtub is fixed and hope stays fixed. The handle was broken inside and cartridge needed to be replaced. Minimal time/cost. Still when I spoke with landlord he was in questioning mode, and he’s a nice guy. Whatever, there was def a prob and now I can go back to my long soaks in the tub.

Really cold out, more like March than May! Going to have me a coffee and do the inside chillin before heading off to gym later.

Well, I made it! On top of babysitting Avery, I am hand rearing another kitten and it takes time! I took him to the vet yesterday–wanted to get some ointment for his eye. It’s clearing up nicely, his lungs sound clear, and he is eating good. Now if we can just stay the course…..
Avery has named him Peso, from the cartoon she loves the Octonauts. Peso is a little black and white Penguin who is a medic! ๐Ÿ˜€

Of course the pics are pawsome today, but I love the strip from JK, sick girl on bed…just give her a cat. My cats were wonderful when I came home from the hospital…they laid on the bed with me and comforted me while I rested. And who knows how to rest better than a cat?!

Yep, cats are the best nurses! ….. Abby is glued to my side when I’m sick ….

Afternoon all! …. hot and humid here, I got the last of my spices growing well, I’ve done a good job this year, I have them in large pots and water them every day …. They seem to do best on my front steps, which gets shade from an oak tree, but a few hours of sun peeking through at various times during the day …. when I had my garden on the east side of the house, they got too much direct light and it burned them ….. they seem to like this location!

I’m glad hump day is almost over, looking forward to the weekend! … have a great rest of your day everyone!

Hey AV! I bought a couple of herbs today, but didn’t get basil as it’s forecasted to be down in the 30’s over the weekend! The rosemary will be fine, but I think I’ll wait to plant it and the parsley later, and just leave them in the garage for now. I love having herbs right outside the kitchen door, I just run out and snip a handful and don’t have to make a trip to town. Mine are on the east side of the house, but our sun isn’t as hot as yours!!

Me too on looking forward to the weekend… ๐Ÿ˜€

There is a story in the Guardian about a heroic nurse caring for those dreadfully wounded in the Manchester bombing. And other heroic medical staff, including a doctor who had been waiting for his daughter outside the concert venue, then went straight into the surgery to save others once he’d got her back safely.

Remember that the story discusses serious injuries before you decide whether to click on the story: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/may/24/i-still-feel-raw-nurse-tells-of-treating-manchester-bombing-victims

But at the same time, it is heartening to remember that there are good people when others do evil things to innocent fellow humans (and to cats, of course…).

I couldn’t agree more, Lagatta. I refuse to believe the world has gone to hell. There is plenty of good.
Herbs, haven’t planted any, not sure if I will. Did get some sunflower seeds to plant though. Hopefully the squirrels won’t get to them.
It appears my laptop monitor is shot. Will probably go for a new monitor, maybe a wireless mouse & keyboard while I’m at it, instead of buying a whole new computer.
Does anyone here want to adopt a white kitten? I made his vet appointment for next Wednesday, then I guess he’s going to the shelter. The ACO thinks he will be adopted quickly as everyone loves a white cat. Went to the shelter yesterday and they are so crowded with cats and kittens. I’m terrified of leaving him. Remember, I’m new at this foster thing. Wish I could have adopted him out to a friend.

I don’t know if you are familiar with Fred Rogers, a children’s TV personality and the star of Mr. Rogers neighborhood; but I found this quote from him– โ€œWhen I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.โ€

I remember that quote. Just as a firefighter will run to the fire, good people will rush to aid those in need.
