Good morning – babeez, how cute! I am better at caring for furry babies than hairless ones. Baby Tyler is a handful but his furry brothers are very good with him.
Yesterday was a nice spring day and today is…a nice summer day? 2 days ago it snowed!

Noir kit licking babee toes makes my own toes tickle!

I, too do much better with four-pawed furries. I’m just not one for babies, or kids in general, never wanted a baby so no regrets.

Soapbox moment: I am not the only one to say this. The look some of us get when we don’t go all “ga-ga” over a baby is impolite to say the least. OK, I’ll get off soapbox now and get back to contemplating kitties. 😉

    Hi efurryone,

Human babies? Meh. I am on your soapbox KJ. You’d think I just grew horns when I say babies aren’t my thang.

    Exactly

It started raining last night and is expected to last through tomorrow. My landlord said I can’t wall mount my TV so I spent yesterday finding/building a TV stand. I refuse to spend $$$ for a pre-made stand if I can figure it out myself. Of course, my nephew gave me instructions for dummies. 😉

    Have a happy~

Hi, guys! I’ve been thinking of you all and missing the cafe…just hadn’t made it here. KJ was sweet enough to check in through email…so I came to say hi while we’re at son’s allergy shot.

Emily, Eko and Leo are well. Just realized as I typed that that yesterday was Emily’s 8th birthday! Eko and Leo aren’t far behind since they’re all 2010 models…lol.

My human kids are great…new challenges planned for next school year. Older son will be in public school for 10th grade…a college prep track at our local high school. I’ve been his primary teacher for 10 years…even as he’s supplemented with outside classes…so a milestone for sure…but we’re all excited for his new challenge. Younger son will take the same twice per week homeschool extension classes older son has been taking the last few years…a big change for him too…great preparation for the rigors of high school and college.

Hubby and I are great too. I’m still cleaning houses a couple of days per week. Hubby gets to move to a new office (same job) in June…commute will go from 35 miles to about 5. Woo hoo! Less stress and more free time for him!

Love the pics today! KJ…I also don’t go gaga over babies and young kids…especially now that I’m past that phase. So I’ll sit at the grown up table with you…lol.

I hope that you are all well and that I haven’t missed any big news while I was away. I’ll check in later!

This video by kitten lady about a tiny black kitten taken to a shelter in a tea box came on after I watched something social history (work) related, and when the kitten started to SQUEEE, Livia started gazing at the screen and tried to approach the kitten. I had no idea cats could see images on screens, but perhaps it was more the kitten sounds that elicited such a reaction.

I wonder if I should try fostering a kitten. The only problem is that I’m a very light sleeper and getting up twice during the night might provoke utter insomnia. I’m sure that Livia would welcome it.

Happy to see you ECB – missed you grrrl!

    For Miss Emily:

So glad that I’m not the only one one my soapbox.

No street find TV stands, PG? 😉 A “Dummies” book would not help me at all. But at least your landlord is helpful. I seem to be on the “outs” with mine. Guy is coming to check out floor tomorrow. This place needs work and I am told that it will not be an easy sell. He has less than 2 months and if not I get to stay another yr if I so choose. We shall see.

    Wee Tetley is beyond adorable!!!!!

AFternoon all! I have been MIA lately, super busy with Son closing on his house and me helping him orchestrate the reno and pick out finishes …. he’s getting sticker shock, finding out how much things costs – fortunately, we’re in the business, so I know the best people and get good prices …. I forsee another withdrawal coming soon from the First Nat’l bank of Mom & Dad *sighs*, I’m just glad we can help out, I consider investing it in the future!

Dau and SIL are now seriously considering moving down here! He has a friend that he worked with that moved about 20 min. from us and started his own business. He did the same thing SIL did with the big corp. and wants SIL to come work with him – they are seriouly considering it! Plus, Dau is applying for a program that pays $$$ signing bonus plus all moving expenses, and they have a spot open near us and SIL’s friend’s job, so the possibility/opportunities are there for both of them! ….

I love the baby pics today! All babies – hooman, furry, etc. are cute to me, but I will say parenting is not easy, but oh so fullfilling! But I totally respect the choice not to have kids, it’s not for everyone for sure! ….

Miss Caddy was also born in 2010 (around July 4th); Miss Abby is a 2004 baby …. can’t believe she’s a senior now! When I first came on this site, she and Shadz were young and silly (RIP HRH!!!)

Hi everyone! You may think that I am a ‘baby’ person with all my talk about Avery and my other ‘not so baby’ granddaughters….but well, I really only like MY babies. Yes, other babies are sweet (or not) and cute and all, but I only want to care for my own. I love infants…I never would have believed it either…because I hated babysitting as a teenager. I am just more comfortable with my own and daughters’ babies and wouldn’t want to care for someone else’s.

It is downright WARM here today! 83 degrees! Mr. KZ is crazy planting corn since rain is forecasted for the next couple of days.

I had an appointment for my hair today–got a bunch cut off and went with an inverted bob–I love it!

ECB!! So glad to see you here! You have been missed. Exciting news about your sons’ schooling and wonderful news that your hubby has a much shorter commute.

I love this story-my nephew didn’t like kids. He and Teez had talked about it and after being together for 12 years, he decided he could handle their children. Fast forward to May 2002 “Can we not have this kid?” Alia was born in July 2002.

This is so my nephew. He loves his kids but he doesn’t like them at times. Alia is smart, independent and well behaved. Zachary is just like his dad and tests him everyday. Every now and again, he comes to me because he’s not sure if he’ll be allowed grow up. 😮

That’s great about Mr. ECB’s new job. I’m sure he’ll appurrciate commuting 5 minutes.

You Son is lucky to have someone in the business. Denver is brutal and I don’t see it getting better soon. Rents are out of the sky, too. Son will enjoy fixing his house and making it a home. Unless Mom supervises…

The storms hitting our area will be going your way tomorrow, KZ. Mr. KZ is planting like mad, huh? Well, at least, he made a decision. 😀

I envy you your street finds, KJ. What I see on the street is there to die.

    Hey TDKers,

Check out Fluffy Birfday – someone special is 5 yrs young!

Rents here can be not fun too – but I am told that after July our standard moving time (‘cept for me whose lease runs from year-end) and going into Fall, peeps are eager to rent what did not rent earlier, ideally leaving me in a better position. As I keep telling self – we shall see.

Less travel time purrfect for Mr. ECB.

AV, would be neat to have your kids all close by. Son is lucky to have your advice.

Still looks like it might rain – hottest day yet. But I had raincoat and umbrella so of course it did not.

Hi ECB! And happy birthday Emily!
Give it a try, PG. A short term foster would only shake things up for you for a couple of weeks. When I had baby Jaxon, he was about 3 weeks old and I fed him around midnight and then not till around 6 am.
I didn’t/don’t like babysitting either, KZ. I love the inverted bob, enjoy rocking it!

Ahhhh babies, how I would love grandchildren but I’m still waiting.
    Que sera, sera.
KJ, my feet feel tickly watching that too.
I do the required admiring thing over other peoples babies but am quite happy handing them back after a while. Now I am sure it will be different with closely related babies should we be lucky enough to become grandparents.
We have a simply glorious day after a nippy 7C-44F overnight temp. It’s about 20C. I’ll take it as the weather is going to be nasty from Sunday.
ECB ! Good to see you, you were missed.

Waving to Emily, Eko and Leo.
Big changes for both your boys, I am sure they will meet the challenge well.
Mr ECB will enjoy the shorter commute I’m sure. That’s cycling distance.
Awwww, love the Tetley vid. What a lovely story on how fostering works, for all.
Love cat imitates hoomin and the vid of the cat enjoying the baby bouncer is adorable.
Hi AV, you and son have certainly been busy and will be for a while. I see you are thoroughly enjoying helping him.
Oh my, the possibility of having daughter and SIL living nearby must be making you so excited. Big decision for them to make. Positive Vibes for them.
Yes, I agree parenting isn’t easy whether it be furry or hoomin but definitely fulfilling. I am babysitting daughters fish while she and hubby are holidaying in Hawaii. How I would love to travel but I do it vicariously through the girls. In that way I have been to the USA, Brazil,Tahiti,Australia, Rarotonga and now Hawaii(I realise it’s part of the US but not mainland).
KZ, I love your talk about Avery and see you know the “my” baby emotion. Your hairstyle sounds lovely,I wouldn’t suit on but do like the look so I got myself a plain bob recently.
PG, 😆 😆 😆 at your nephew and ‘can we not have this kid’ a little too late to cancel. There are definitely times in any parents life when they might not like their child but they still love them.

One night feeding I could handle. I guess I could foster a kitten who is a bit older than a newborn, but still needs bottle feedings and a lot of attention. I wouldn’t be surprised if Livia would help him or her with toilet stuff. She is a lot more broody than I am, but I don’t regret getting her “fixed”. Beautiful as she and her identical brother are, they still spent months at least in the alley. Livia had been adopted by students who neglected her, just out of youthful carelessness. I’ll ask more questions at a pet supply place in Mile-End (the neighbourhood just south of mine, I don’t mean Mile End in London!) where they are involved in fostering and in support to street cats.
