“Grow old along with me – the best is yet to be.”

Good morning! Gallivanting all over the interwebs….hee…cats have come a long way, haven’t they?

Forgot to mention last night how nice it was to see that Leela is hanging out downstairs these days, Joan. It seems a third cat sort of changed the dynamics….so interesting.

Speaking of third cats…saw on Facebook that my tough house client adopted two new kitties…a female tuxedo cat and a male brown tabby…both 8 months old. They’ll join their sweet old black and white guy. We’ll get to meet them on Monday, I guess.

Morning all! Funny pics today! EC, hope you client’s new additions fit in well … Will look forward to hearing about them when you meet them monday …
I love hearing about Joan’s cafe crew, and CWS’s occasional guest … Cats are so independent and have such loving hearts ….. They will love and visit whom they please!

Well, wednesday begins for me …… Lots of analysis to be done …. Later all, have a great day!

Morning all! Cold here with a little snow, but it’s a great day! Joan, I need to tell you how adorable the pics of your cats are! I saw them late one night, then forgot to comment the next day! What a great looking group, VERY HEALTHY and shiny coats. You are lucky as some of my outsiders in the past have been quite sick. Honestly, people dump them sickly and don’t care what happens to them.
Well, can’t linger, off to get the green cloud out of the upstairs and onto the changing table… 😆

Morning KZ! LOL @ ‘the green cloud’ …..

It’s a beautiful day here, and promises to be a semi-warm weekend (78-80) …. I may have to take a detour to the beach 😉

I can’t remember if Joan puts l-lysine in their food, but I think it was Buttons, or MS, or both that used it and swore by it’s healing properties …. I need to get some for Abby, I can’t believe my girl is 11 years old, and will turn 12 this fall …. my how time flies!

well, back to inputting for me …… l8r

Good morning – when I think about the good old days and cats it’s all about ‘the Shaddo/Jiggs era’. Those two still generate lots of stories.
Well the chipmunk may have survived yesterday’s assault by the cats, but a mouse did not. Mama cat proudly showed off the gift this morning.
It rained pretty hard overnight, but the sun is out now. It’s super-windy and temps are expected to drop throughout the day. I was hoping to do a bit more walking today but wind and I don’t get along very well. I’ll still walk to the mailboxes, and if I’m not followed, out to the front of the community then back down to the lake. Another good day for the wood burner!
AV, if I were more impulsive, I’d hop a plane and join you at the beach. Parts of the shore are only about an hour and a half drive away, but we rarely go. Driving in the most densely populated state in the union can really be nerve-wracking, especially the areas close to the city.
My trio get their dinner dusted with a ground up l-lysine tablet, and a neighbor recently donated lysine treats for the outdoor kitties. Leela used to gobble the treats up, but then decided she didn’t like them, so giving it to all of them in their food seems to keep their immune system boosted. Leela gets weepy eyes, Comet coughs, and Mac gets sneezing fits, all which seem to heighten if they don’t get lysine.

My outdoor gang are not really as “outdoor” as JJ’s – I know a couple have homes (and I know where) and a couple more look as though they live somewhere too. They just come to visit me because they like the dry food I put out for them, I suspect! But my regular customers seem to recommend me, because the numbers keep going up.

A recent addition is the most beautiful little tabby girl – she’s quite small still, but made friends with me the very first time I was outside when she called round. She has gorgeous stripes, and the white nose and chin that would guarantee her a spot on a calendar!

Our most regular visitor wasn’t here yesterday (when there was dreadful rain for most of the day) but he’s back today, bright and cheerful as ever, keeping watch over the garden from the back window. Merlin is sitting nearby, so between them they’ve got the place covered.

    All’s well with the world!

    😀

Well thankfully our portended blizzard, to quote weather peeps “fizzled out”. 🙂 Leaving us with the customary snowfall, but no severe “mph” winds, no need to take to fallout shelters or other survivalist tactics. Quad still a bit achy and I do plan to don the cleated boots as one never knows if/where ice is hiding under snow just waiting to trip up some unwary pedestrian. Anthropomorphism purrhaps?
Well on “Old Stuff Day” I guess that I can admit to some Luddite tendencies. As in I still have my DVD player. And I wish that all the n’hood DVD rental stores had not closed down. Not counting pennies, but going to films is way expensive, not to mention time takes to get to theatre and if one doesn’t like the film, a waste. Wish that I could still rent films, plus the store staff used to hang with customers and discuss films and make recommendations, a friendly vibe. Don’t want to pay for TV channels that I will rarely use. Can’t access Netflix or the like as operating system way too old to support this media and not worth upgrading when ‘puter works for what I need it to work for, such as work LOL. Wish that this were my biggest prob.
Whatever, anyway time to head on out into the non-storm as spin class beckons. l8r.

Woot woot – midweek waves to all from my sunny but cold n’hood!

Here’s my donation for today’s topic:
    oldest cat species
Evolving some 10 million years ago
Pallas’ cat is similar to the lynx in facial structure, with a large, sturdy body and short legs. Its head is short and broad, with large round eyes and blunt wide-set ears. Its long, silky coat varies in color from light grey to russet brown, with white tips to its hairs giving a sparkling, almost iridescent appearance. There are dark lines on its cheeks, rings on its tail, and its lips, chin, and throat are white.

Good morning! It’s been ages since I was able to access the site: cranky computer just seemed to have trouble. I could get in just enough to see the kit of the day but then it would hang. Today though, no problem; no figure.
Anyway, miss you guys and just wanted to give a shout out and say hey! Loved the old days theme: the furry boy and I are both getting up there (although we both try to deny it)

Love the cats growing old together-so sweet. How many times have I said “back in the day?” and I”m in my fifties. 😯

Ah – old stuff. I enjoy to roadside sales where they have a lot of cool old stuff. My mom has the washer with the hand crank that belonged to my grandma. It’s been in her shed forever and I say I want it but then what would I do with it?

I was going to work in the yard but we have sustained winds of 30-40 mph. I can hear the winds whistling through the security door and it’s a high pitched humming.

Thanks for your ginormous hearts for providing care/shelter for our kits that don’t have anything.

Originally didn’t know what it stood for either!
    Hmm, kinda nice…

So, it’s kinda nice outside around here – at least sunny & trying to melt some snow.
But since it’s purrfect on the TDK Patio will sneak out there w/fave kit for some well deserved RR… 😉

Welcome back PC! … we’ve missed you!
PG, that kitty in the babooska cracked me up!
I love to hear about everyone’s outdoor kitties they care for ….. Big Sal was kind like your friends, CWS – I knew where he lived and met his owner, but he would come over and hand out on my porch every day … of course, I had treats and food for him, and he would ‘play’ with Abby through the glass French doors … they were so cute together! …. Sadly, his owner moved away, so he’s gone … Abby looked for him every day for months, and still does sometimes … she really misses him …

I know what you mean, AV. It’s a year since we lost Rincewind, and Merlin still sometimes gazes wistfully out of the window, hoping . . . hoping . . . I know he’s been missing his Big Brother, but it’s amazing to watch him getting along with this new friend. Rincewind was nearly all white – this one is nearly all black. But the kindness, the willingness to share seats, dishes, even food is so much like the way Rincewind once welcomed Merlin into his own life, where he had been the only one for quite a few years.

It really touches my heart to see these two just accepting each other now. I walked into the living room earlier on and there they were, sitting side by side on the sofa. At other times they’ll both be on the table in the conservatory, keeping watch over the garden. But when it’s time to go, White Legs (okay – my private name for him is BJ!) will go to the front door and ask – politely, but definitely – for a way out. He always has a quick thank-you-for-having-me moment first, and I always tell him I’ll see him again soon. And then, I’ll open the door, and off he’ll go.

    😀
