    Hello everybody!

We have a 19 weeks old British Shorthair male kitten which we got about 6 weeks ago.

We are thinking about getting another British Shorthair male kitten (from a different litter) because our kitten will be really happy to have a friend to play and run around the house with (we don’t own any other cat).

The kitten that we are looking to get is 13 weeks old, so we are a little bit concerned about the age gap (of 6 weeks) – will it be a problem?

    Thank you very much!

    Hi Kit-Cat,

Cats don’t recognize their own breed so that’s a moot point. The closer in age they are can make introductions easier. You have to remember that your boy has been alone and in charge and may resent an interloper. Check out the link and go slowly.

I’ve provided a link on how to introduce cats.

    Hey!
Glad to hear that you planning to get a kitten. But please do not get it from pet store or from classifieds or ads etc. All The Best.

Thank you very much for your answer!

In the video you send me, Jackson Galaxy explains how to introduce two cats, but I think that introducing two kittens should be easier, right?
So for how long should we separate them before introducing them face to face?

We have almost the similar situation, the cats are just fine.
In the beginning the older cat had to get used to the younger kitten, but it all worked fine.
Just give the cats the same amount of attention, worked out fine for our cats.

Also found this article online, maybe it has some helpful tips for you.

AV, it suddenly turned hot here today after having a very cool week or several days. We really haven’t planned anything for the 4th, but I know there will be a get together of some sort. I just may get a bunch of chicken and do a bbq — and have everyone else bring the traditional salads and desserts. There is always a local chicken bbq put on by the Rotary followed by fireworks at the airport hanger. But it draws such huge crowds, followed by awful traffic for about an hour following, that it just has lost it’s appeal for me. It would be much more fun to have it here and we could eat on the patio under the trees and not worry about traffic.

Have you made plans for the 4th?
