Nothing quite like curling up with a good book – unless it’s a good book and a kitty!null

Well in keeping with this fractious day, every time I tried to edit this Café I get msg “This topic is marked as spam.” WTF? So here’s the not-to-be-missed pic in lieu of duplicated pic:

Sorry in advance MS, for stealing your thunder, but this crossover pic begged for a place on TDK – the things my imagination did when I saw title! 😉 😆 😮

    Crossover pic –
zucchini, cat and book. All three Cafe’s covered.
KJ I almost put that pic up for the crossover but was determined to include a cat for World Cat Day too.

You indeed crossed all paths with your pic, MS. But I still had to post that book. I mean 101 things to do with that green veg??? I have to give this some srs consideration hehehe.
So seems like handyman fixed front door ASAP, well it was urgent.
And repair guy came and srsly advised best solution was new washer as price compared to repair and all the stress and no guarantee that something else won’t go off track not worth it.
And thankfully landlord concurs. So this is where my rsch will take me. I can fine me one email him in Greece ans with 7 hr time diff if I do so at night he gets back to me early am. Note that all new models seem to be HE. I’m not looking for model with bells and whistles that also makes coffee and have found some brands in $450-$570 price range. Have to factor in installation/taking the old machine out. But I’m glad that from the outset landlord lets me do the purchase and pays me back, cuts on waiting around time. For now I’m still laundromat denizen, and it will be nice having machine in place so that I can do my wash in my “at-home” look. 😉
Must make a start to day. L8R! Hope all have good one!

Good morning – bookworm cat is so cute! Fun pics, and fun crossover pics as well! I’d like to take a gander at that book, though if I find myself with a zucchini I can always look at recipes on the ‘puter.
Glad the door is fixed, KJ. Yep, HE washer looks to be the way to go. You’ll just have to adjust to the longer cycle and substantially less detergent needed.
I’m in the middle of a book, but might hold off reading today as tomorrow afternoon may be rainy, therefore purrfect for book reading. Maybe I can get Miss Leela to cuddle!

Afternoon waves from getting sticky outdoors on voting day in brewtown!
I was #40 early this morning…guess office guy was #177 – not a lot of progress in 4 hours :/
(We vote at same place since live in same ‘hood!)
Just go back from my Vitamin D trip around n’hood 😉

    Hmm…cats & books = great theme!
    Adding my 2.5cents fun:
    orangie gardening books
Indoor Gardening w/Orangie – has the best idea on warm day!

    cat in window book
    Hmm…sounds interesting…
OK, back to part 2’s fun…later kits! Oops, hey Tux, need a smooch – Mwah…toodles ’til…?

Hi guys. My yesterday got busy, so I had to catch up on the cafe.

AV….beautiful wedding photos. Thanks for sharing! Your blue dress made me think immediately of Lorelai’s dress at Rory’s gradutuation in Gilmore Girls. Let’s see if I can get this link to work…

    Good morning all.
Love the pics, esp JK’s majestic orangie. Oh and there are cats in Middle Earth – JCat’s Millie and HRH Shadz just to mention two.
Another cold morning here but each morning is just a tad warmer than the previous morning. HRH was out the door early for a graze on the lawn(I still think she has sheep genes in her somewhere) 😮
Woohoo KJ, great that the repairs of old washer and purchase of a new one are comparable and landlord agrees that you can go ahead and look for new washer. LOL at washer with all the bells and whistles and one that makes coffee too. 😆 😆
Hi JJ, saving a book for a rainy day, that’s a good way of thinking.
ECB, I thought you would enjoy the Dumbledore pic.
JK, the orange collar for an indoor kitty idea is excellent. Isn’t there an orange leash for dogs that require extra space when passing strangers in the USA?
Looks like we have some rain on the way so I suspect HRH will be meowing at the door soon.

Just chillin’ after busy day. Gym, then some household shopping. Then laundromat which is purrfect stand-in until I get rsch done and order mine. Actually don’t think that I will be getting one quite as state-of-the-art at it’s a front load model and I’m not paying for this. Does a good-size load in 23 mins! Hardly enough time to make inroads into knitting LOL. And now I have srs earworm as Jurassic 5’s “Remember His Name” lyrics – cat (as in hep cat I think) mentioned too: “Perhaps, But I was lookin at the face of one particular cat. Now I done seen him before, (Can you remember where at?) Well it was either at the liquor store or laundry mat.” Very catchy but also very OG (original gangsta, my kind of music.)
Home again to put load in my dryer. Then as cat food cupboard was bare raced over to vet’s to p/u Dorry’s noms. Where I ran into former aquafit instructor who was boarding her lovely orangie, Stewie. And spent some time chatting with woman who was bringing in a stunning Himalayan mix, Charlie in for annual check-up. Long-haired white kit with golden eyes, meaning not hearing issues. She adopted him from SPCA at 1 yrs old. Hard to believe that anyone would give him up. Then to n’hood library. Finally home. Getting srsly hot again as in by Thurs going up to 34 C!

Oh and sorta needed new lipstick and just ’cause of the kit factor, instead of my usual MAC, bought me one of the new Katy Perry “Kitty Kat” matte shades – “Sphynx” – very appropriately bare. All the shades have purry names. Not that I count pennies but half the price of MAC and IMHO just as nice. Very good mktg. 🙂

Phew KJ, you certainly had a busy day and in that heat too. Do you have a Consumer Rights group that tests appliances and gives recommendations in Canada? If so it might be worth checking through their results for power usage, right size for your needs, cycle times, spin efficiency, water usage, gentle on clothes etc. There may also be price comparisons already done for you.
Wow the Himalayan mix sounds beautiful and lucky to have found someone who loves him.
Hi AV, wow four days straight of rain, you are getting to be like us, but I suspect with much warmer temps.
    Lunchtime for me.

MS, that’s the sorta rsch that I will be embarking on and tks for suggestion. Your lunchtime = my dinnertime 15 hrs earlier! And way late for me, so not ideal and something I keep planning to sort out but don’t. Or rather probably don’t really want to. *Sigh* I just seem to forget about noms, or get distracted doing other things. Of course Dorry’s noms are on served on time.
