I don’t “set” my hair and no longer colour it – and I’m not saying people shouldn’t a) I did for years and b) I’m lucky to have very nice silver hair with black streaks. But I’d never think of cutting it myself (except for the odd clip of split ends, especially in the wintertime) as my hair is thick and very curly. Fortunately I have a neighbourhood salon that does a good job and isn’t expensive. While I work mostly at home, I’m working at a conference in a few days and have to look a bit “professional”, though on the casual, communications sector side of that.

We do remember the remarkable woman from a remarkable family behind the Frankenstein story, Mary Shelley:

I had no idea how old you were lagatta. Far be it from me to tell a woman of your age what to do. Incidentally? My grandma has salt and pepper hair and I have thick Russian hair. Waiting for more gray. Disappointed so far.

You still don’t! My first grey hairs grew in at 16! It runs in the maternal side of my family. I have an uncle who is 80 and all silver – but he still has a full head of curly hair!

No sadly I don’t Legatta. At my age I still look 25 but should have plenty of gray coming in. In my mother’s mothers family looking young for your age is the norm but? I long for a few more grays to intersperse with the brown and my Lithuanian red highlights.
