Today it’s all about saving the planet, or our little corner of it, notably the Café.

Compost – you’re talking my thing. I have two large compost piles, one that is ready for using and the other one filling up with all the vege scraps, shredded newspaper, grass clippings and ash from the firebox. It would cost me a fortune to buy enough compost to replenish the garden each Spring but making your own compost is free,

MS, love the “helpful” garden kits hehehe!

But the second to last Dorry-esque kit – what is that bug he’s playing with? creeps me out some! 😮

As least not sleeping much last night gave me opp to discover how to complain re nasty cyber hackers to FBI! PG, Purrhaps I can speak directy with Shemar Moore? Probably not!

Getting ready to go out then noon spin class. So hope that I don’t sleep walk, would not be a good plan! 🙄

I love composting too, I have a jar in the kitchen that gets scraps, then out to the bin in the yard. Turns into ‘black gold’ that plants love!

KJ, hope you got some satisfaction turning the creeps into the FBI. Certainly seems like the hacking and annoying telephone calls to my cell phone have only increased in the last few months. My sister got a call yesterday from a supposed Microsoft tech guy (who was a hacker) who got downright nasty and abusive. Anyone calling you and telling you that your computer needs to be fixed by them and they can do it remotely because they have detected a virus or whatever is a scammer and can retrieve important info about you and your finances, etc. and should be reported.

Good morning – I love the protesting kitty!
KJ, that’s a praying mantis. They are fascinating to watch.
That last gif is so cute – reminds me of when the kitties would help dad in his garden.
Our compost pile is currently jammed between what’s left of the back woodpile and some forsythia, which has exploded with growth just in the past few weeks.
It’s going to be a hot day here in Jersey. MS, sorry you’re chilly – aiming fans southward.

Officially it’s Toosday but for many the day after a long weekend counts as Monday.

“I’ll savz the planet…after dis nap.” That’s a Praying Mantis, KJ. They are odd looking but do eat the males head after mating. If you ever watch nature shows, it’s quite funny. The male approaches the female with ultimate resignation hoping, I’m sure, that it’s worth it. 😆

I love recycling but don’t have enough to compost. The city is strict about composting because it encourages skunks and raccoons to move into neighborhoods. I get it.

Good luck on your vaccine. I know people who’ve had shingles and it ain’t nice. Thanks for the offer but Shemar has moved on to L.A. SWAT. *sigh*

    Have a happy~

Paw up waves – toot-toot Tuesday’s hello with purrz!
Luv the cat helping hoomin’ tilling soil MS!
Great idea for composting – using scraps to enhance soil!
Remember growing up my granny used to do it up north…great way to get
her worms for fishing season too 😉

I do not compost scraps in my yard…but I do recycle!
    cat in recycle bin
Purry version – reuse – recycle!
    outdoor cat shelter
Save Kittehs in winter with reused Tub turned into cat shelter!

Ok, time for another cuppa fave brew…makin’ it cold brew on another warm day in my n’hood!
    iced coffee
Cheers on a Tuesday – at least it’s not MOanday :D…later/??

Indeed I do hope that the male praying mantis gets his “happy ending” hehehe! Guess that he’s the one doing most of the praying! 😉

PG, I’m sure that the delicious Shemar has not lost all his FBI (or other) “skills”. Have not watched SWAT show as yet, I liked him so much in Criminal Minds.

Fave show right now is “Handmaid’s Tale”. Way scary, and I’m hoping for a decent resolution, but it’s so fascinating and Elizabeth Olsen is fantastic actor.

So advised my tech-expert about this cyber issue as it looks so valid. The only thing that alerted me was CS rudeness and asking for $$$. Google told me that they never screen share and had me check out my acct which indicates that it has not been tampered with. So if any of you get a pop-up on your browser “inviting” you to take advantage of a “Privacy Checkup” it’s 110% fraud!

I just filed complaint with the FBI. It’s an international site. Might not do much as the FBI does not update complainant, form thanks purrson nonetheless. These cyber-jerks are smart, they even had the actual Google url! But filling in form in detail did help to distract me from things that I so need to be distracted from. More importantly typing keeps my hands occupied while my nail polish dries. Priorities!

Speaking of which, Knitting Circle cohort found me all the kit charms that I wanted at her n’hood Michael’s! I will be turning them into earrings. And got a discount too! Bought 2 sets of each so that they match. I’m thinking purrhaps a bit kitschy, but fun! 🙂

JK – your grandma “grows” her own worms for fishing. Reading it, makes it sound so cool but it’s what you do in life. Sliced bread hasn’t been around furever.

Don’t you worry about bears and pests with your compost pile, JJ?

I hope all goes well with your appointment tomorrow, KJ.

    Tks PG.

My arm feels a bit sore from shot, but this is usual, sorta like someone punched me. Also nauseated, but this has become usual too, for too long.

When I saw two-faced cat I did double take LOL. Thought they meant two-headed cat! That cat is awesomely gorgeous. On one side a grey and on the other a noir! Peter the Great is so handsome too and that site has such heart-warming tails! 😉

Now I have to head into kitchen and see whether I can commune with planned micro cheese omelet.

Great pics. I’m fascinated by the pinkish mantis – there’s a few different species in Melbourne but they are all either green or brown. I’ve seen a small green one baffle a hunting kit in the same way.

Apart from worms and assorted flies (this is Oz, so of course there are flies), I’ve had compost generate mice. The kits appreciate that. They enjoy all gardening activities.

    The two-tone kit is gorgeous!

Good afternoon all, it’s another stunning sunny day after a sparkly frosty start. I headed to the gym for a workout and was met with a magical site of the large carpark steaming as if dry ice had been spread over it. There is work being done on the bore and they must have hit the hot water which was all over the park. By the time I left it was ankle deep and my shoes got a wash. Quite a sight.
KJ, definitely a praying mantis, lovely creatures, and as PG says the female tends to bite the head off her mate during the act ! ! !
We have a native species here that has pretty blue/green markings on the inside of it’s main ‘prayer’ legs but it is being killed off by a Sth African mantis that has arrived here somehow. The interloper doesn’t pray so I refer to it as the athiest mantis. I destroy any females I find and their egg cases to give our native species a chance.
KZ, we have been getting those ‘Microsoft’ scam calls here for a number of years. Just hang up or leave them talking to an empty room as they can’t get really ‘shitty’ if you call them out.
JJ, my compost heaps are under the plum tree as plums are gross feeders and this way it doesn’t cost me to feed it. As long as we have dry frosty mornings the day to follow will usually be beautiful and sunny. I can cope with that.
PG, I hadn’t thought about composting attracting larger nasties than mice. Then again we don’t have any nasties larger than a rat really that would find a compost heap interesting. I guess even fully enclosed compost systems would be a no no too. There are plenty of plastic bin styles of composting but mine is basic slated board sides and open to all weathers.
KJ, get the vaccination, shingles is a really nasty and disabling when you have it condition. Mum would love to get it but at her age it is virtually ineffective but she has instructions from her Dr to get to her at the first sign of possible shingles for some other treatment.
I grow worms too,in my compost. They are the magic that turn all the scraps etc into beautiful black soil by passing it through their digestive systems.
Aha ! KJ, you did get the shot. yes a slightly sore arm is a side effect but a heck of a lot more bearable than the shingles.
Wow the two faced kitty is beautiful and Peter has a face that instantly made me smile. So glad he was able to help 10 other cats find a home.
PM, the Sth African mantis I mentioned seems to come in many colours or at least the puny skinny males do. They range from green to orange, cream and brown while the female is always green and has a huge abdomen.
Yes I have seen Shadz in the past lurking around the compost for mice, it makes beautiful soil for me and free food for her. I miss her, no cat to snuggle up with us on cold Winter nights.

Wow, speak of the angel kitty(HRH Shadz) and the neighbours kitty walks into the room. 😮 😀
We went outside and played chasey with a long piece of grass and I introduced her to a ping pong ball but she had no idea what to do with that. I have found out that outside she is a wild animal and hands are fair game. Yes, she drew blood but inside she is cuddly and cute. She found the large bag of wild birdseed and buried her head deep in the bag to check the contents out then sprawled out on the mat and rolled about for a while and then went out on to the balcony and sat ‘guard’ at the top of the steps in the sun. Awwwwwww.

*sighs* yes, we get those google & microsoft ‘scams’ too. They say they are calling from microsoft and my computer is sending them ‘pinging messages’ …. yeah right! Microsoft doesn’t call and your computer doesn’t send messages …. I have to admit I’m not very nice – last time, I switched into my best ‘Ms. Doubtfire’ voice and confused the person so badly, babbling about run by fruitings and old lady bars …. it was entertaining on my end to say the least! LOL

Aww, I’m sure HRH is lurking as an angel kitty, there are many at the bridge, and I’m sure they all look out for us in their own way …

Totally rainy here today, should continue well into tomorrow. Suits me, good time to get work done ….

    Have a great Wednesday all!
