If those all aren’t the cutest pics! ๐Ÿ˜† The yoga cat that has skillz looks like Leona, she washes herself like that all the time too. I wish my spine was all bendy and soft like a cats’ spine….well, at least I think I do. I guess I should be careful what I wish for.
Slept really good last night since the one before was full of weirdness. MS, it was quite funny, but at the time in the middle of the night I wasn’t feeling humor! ๐Ÿ˜› But I AM glad that better judgement took over and I didn’t wake up hubby.
A slow lazy day here, more routine and normal than the last few days. Will have to go to SIL later and help divvy up flowers from the funeral home. But that’s a fun thing. It’s always sad to lose a parent, but he had a long life–he was 89–and it was time. He lived in the house he was born in for all of those years except for the last few months. But he farmed all of his life, he actually had no other interests or hobbies. His son (my hubby) followed him into farming and we live on what was part of the family farm. His 2 daughters and all of his grandchildren live within 2 miles of the farm. He never wanted for anything, saw family often, and lived his life the way he wanted to. What could be better than that?

    Hi Efurrbody,

We’re enjoying the nice morning before it hits 97f/36c by 2:00. Miss Gaea will be in as well. It amazes at cats and the positions they can get into…it almost hurts just watching them!

I love the “skillz cat” and “wrap legs like a scarf.” ๐Ÿ˜†

Hi KZ we posted at same time. I’m glad you’re having a relaxing day. It sounds like FIL lived the life he wanted. You don’t often see sibs making a living where they grew up so I’m sure he was proud to watch his children and grandchilden grow up.

Hi PG, I thought I was the only one here when I posted. Yes, you are right about making a living where you grew up, especially these days in farming. Fewer and fewer of us, as big MEGA corporations are buying our land and putting smaller farms out of business. Then city folks are moving to the country and telling us what they don’t like about farming. The animals, the smell, the farmer in the field at all hours…..
Hope you get your yard mowed before it gets too hot. It’s dangerous out there!

Oh my goodness….these pics are the best! Cats are yoga experts, as we all know. The kit who wants the vet called because they broke…lol.

KZ, I had a strange dream, rough night too. I got an upsetting message from someone right before bed. I had tracked down a VERY close friend from 30 years ago and sent a Facebook friend request. I love Facebook for making connections with old friends and keeping up with family I don’t get to see often. I find it really meaningful and enjoyable. Anyways, I had noticed from her Facebook page that her political leanings were quite different from mine, but so are many of my friends and family….I love and respect them just the same. So, I feel stupid and naive thinking she would be the same way. She sent a very polite reply but basically didn’t want to reconnect because she feared we had arrived at different places in life and she didn’t want her posts to offend me. Now, I don’t post anything faith based or political on Facebook at all. If you look at my page you could discern I’m married to a clergy person (hubby is wearing his collar in my profile pic) and that I homeschool (but you’d have to look harder for that one). Both of those are things people can make a lot of negative assumptions about…but who knows. I’m trying not to return her jumping to conclusions by jumping to conclusions. I’ve been really sad about it all day though…tearing up quite a bit. She was a really special friend. But who knows what experiences she’s had that would make her wary.

I finished mowing before it hit 80f/27c. I even pulled weeds!

OK ECB, I’m confused. Was your dream about this friend or is this completely different?

Oh, sorry, PG. I can see why that would be confusing. I dreamed about the friend after getting her message about not wanting to reconnect. It was an unsettling dream, but what I described above was what actually happened.

You see such pretty flowers on your walks, JK.

haha yoga kitties, i think i have to do yoga in my sleep sometimes, certainly feels like it, i woke up this morning with 4 cats on the bed, 2 on me and was tangled up in an awkward position, at least its nice and warm on these cold nights.

Hi everyone – loving all these yoga poses – can’t seem to pick a favorite!
Your father in law sounds extraordinary, KZ. Like my dad, I bet he considered himself a millionaire – in values and family. Divvying up the pretty flowers will be good for everyone.
Sorry you won’t be reconnecting with your long ago friend, ECB. I can see how it would cause some unsettling subconscious feelings.
I’m glad to see PG cut the lawn and reported back. It’s dangerous out there!
Hi JK – thank you very much for sharing your flowers. It’s great you can get out for a walk too.
I didn’t go walking today. Woke to a bit of rain and a lovely breeze from the window a few feet away. It felt too good to break away from! My walk takes at least 2 hours these days plus I wanted to give myself a pedicure before heading down the valley, so something had to give. Still doing the planking challenge though, and boy is it getting hard! Almost gave up yesterday but pushed through.
We’ve decided not to go to uncle’s funeral. It’s several hours worth of driving, and mom isn’t up to it.

Congrats on your Planking challenge – wow!
Enjoy your pedi – need a pampering treat now/then!

Psst – we have a newbie salesman: Michael – seems as if he may be a good fit/very knowledgeable of similar products etc! (With great personality too.)
OK, finishing up part 2’s fun…later!

    Hi all,
Yoga def not for me, I can’t get into the vibe, as the inute I slow down I tend to stress out – which yoga is supposed to help, but for me it just doesn’t work. Kitties doing yoga – now that works for me!
I hear you ECB, and it is sad when friends go their separate ways. Happened to me a few months back and for very justifiable reasons and it might have been a while in coming, but still.
PG, i don’t get the channel that features show with the outstanding Travis Fimmel. Will have to wait for “Vikings” to return, where Travis is not looking so hot anymore. ๐Ÿ™ Have you seen any of “Barbarians Rising?” It’s really well done, but makes gore in “Vikings” akin to “Mary Poppins” LOL. Rome doesn’t take any prisoners (unless as slaves.) At times I have to say to myself “KJ, eventually Rome fell.” Now I’m going to PVR a PBS series “The Greeks” starting from early days through philosophy etc. Should be interesting.
I did see a super cute Basement Cat on way home. Considered a kitnap, but he was sporting a very neat red collar, so assume he’s owned and would be missed, aside from the fact that thievery is thankfully not one of my attributes. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Good morning all. It’s a wild windy day with occasional showers now but heavy rain forecast for this afternoon. HRH Shadz hasn’t even bothered to get up yet and it’s mid morning. She knows what is coming and can’t see the point of leaving her warm bed.
KZ I know what you mean about wishing you were more flexible, I wish I had a cats leg flexibility rather than the stuff painful ones I have. Sounds like your FIL had a full farming life with plenty of family around. Indeed what could be better than that. don’t see that as often with farming families as you used to. Mr MS was from a dairy farm and his father signed him up to an engineering apprenticeship as soon as he turned 16, didn’t ask him just did it and the eldest son was expected to stay on the farm. We also have townsfolk moving on to small lots of land or lifestyle blocks where they can run a few sheep/cattle/alpacas and have chickens and then find that it is hard work while also working at their usual job.
PG, LOL at your ‘inappropriate’ yoga pic, reminded me of a news item recently for nude yoga classes. You would want to be in the back row at that class. Don’t know if the got any takers for the class.
ECB I an sorry about that rather upsetting brush off you received from an old friend. They obviously have strong opinions on some things and can’t put them aside to just connect on a friendly level.
JK, pretty flowers. Love the yellow ones found on your walk, they look like coreopsis. Beautiful and bright yellow.
PG, well done on getting the lawns mowed before the worst of the heat hit.
CGM, you are so right about having to do yoga in our sleep around kits that won’t move. I wake up with stiff cramped legs from being forced into odd positions and it is lovely and warm on these cold nights. We are about to get a dumping of rain that is coming over the ditch from your way.
JJ, how does your planking challenge work? I am interested. Maybe am afternoon out with Mum for a treat somewhere while you swap stories about your uncle would be an idea in the coming days. It does get more difficult travelling distances as our parents get older. It is very tiring for them.
JK, I hope the new salesman is a great fit, makes for a happy workplace.
Hi KJ, LOL at the fleeting thought of catnappery. We used to have backpacks here years ago on TDK and catnap the Daily Kitten and get up to all sorts of crazy antics.
Well the rain is beginning, still light compared to the downpours we will be getting and HRH still has NOT made an appearance for breakfast. It is even getting too late for it to be brunch.

Hello all. I posted an intro yesterday about my new fur baby DeeDee (or as my husband calls her..twitch).

She is going great. She was constipated until today. I figure from the formula. I worked all the time to get her to go. When she finally did she meowed so much. I could tell she was miserable. :(. I was so upset I went early and got her goat milk. That helped so much. She is going not long after she eats. And she mews so much I know it is potty time and set her in the litter box. She digs and moves around till she goes. Hasn’t figured out how to cover it. But we will get there. She has a special blanket already. If she is upset or tired. She mews till I wrap her in that one blanket and she calms down and purrs. It is so sweet. I love her so much.

    Welcome Kandy!
Sounds like things are going great with DeeDee (AKA Twitch). I like goat milk too, and I’m definitely not a cat (so far) hehehe.
Nude yoga? Well back when I was member of a YWCA – meaning women only – I have it on authority that Fri nights they rented out the gym to a group – nude mixed volleyball. You read that right – nekked men and women. The mind boggles as in those volleyballs can do damage if they hit certain body parts if you get my meaning. ๐Ÿ˜‰

OUCH, crossing legs and arms over chest. I get your meaning KJ. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜ณ ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
Your story reminds me of Hawkeye Pierce in M.A.S.H and his nude volleyball magazines that he read just for the game scores ! Really?
Kandy, welcome to the Cafe and it is wonderful to hear the Dee Dee is now doing so well on the goat milk. She will be so much more comfortable now she is pooping. I hope the litter training goes well. Awwww how sweet that Dee Dee(Twitch) has her own special blankie that comforts her.
Just before noon HRH Shadz woke up and came downstairs and is now out in the rain and wind doing what needs to be done. I am betting she will be at the door to come in soon.
If you are interested in watching a Royal albatross chick then check out this link and webcam. She is now officially known as Moana – it is a Maori name meaning ocean, sea, wide expanse of water. Very fitting for a bird that will spend years at sea before returning to land to mate.

Welcome Kandy! I knew the goat’s milk would work. It helped my kitten Willow get back on track too. He’s not a kitten anymore, but a big whopping Tuxedo who is just a mamma’s boy and very sweet and gentle.
JJ, I saw that planking challenge too, meant to say something when you started but forgot. I need to try it, although it sounds pretty tough.
ECB, I don’t understand why people get so weird on FB. Sounds like she might be a bit unhappy and then can’t get past her own feelings to just reconnect with an old friend. Most people I see on FB don’t have any problems giving their political or religious opinions!! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ ๐Ÿ˜†
