Thanks for hol happy wishes gang! And nice to see you ECB!
JK, those doughnuts are sufganiyot – a Sephardic custom. And delish! Ashkenazim such as myself would fry up latkes. The deal is to use oil – in remembrance of the oil in the Temple that burned for 8 days when there was only enough of said oil to burn for one.
And PG, those wee dreidl playing kits – squee!!!
For trivia buffs there is a custom to eat dairy (which is efurryday for this one! 😉 Based on the tale of the heroine Judith slaying Holofernes. Warning, it’s gory – very!

As indicated by the work by Artemisia Gentileschi a 16th century artist not lauded enough as she was a woman. Surprise, surprise. 🙄
First major snowstorm! The way the radio peeps report it, you’d think the world had ended! It’s much warmer out and while I’m glad to be in and both Dorry and I enjoy watching the snow blustering down, it’s not that bad. OK, so I did take a spill but applied fresh clean snow to my now bruised knee and took care of it.
Was on way to stylist. Takes me like a day or 2 for hair to “fall in” and for me to like it more. Think that others have similar experiences. Anyway – a first – purry tuxie Enzo came down to the basement (where salon is) to greet me. Beautiful sleek noir kit with a creamy white belly and matching white whiskers and booties! Purrhaps he sensed that I am a cat purrson!
And yeah, gave up on idea of moratorium of gifts to self. Late last night somehow discovered a jewellery store in our downtown area so easy to get to. Ordered me some interesting pieces at amazing liquidation prices! Two items will be turned into a necklace the DIY way, plus a leather bracelet and a kewel viper bracelet to keep my snake bracelet company. 😉 Even better, no shipping charges as I can pick the stuff up. It’s ready for me like now. But not setting foot out again today. Can wait until Thurs.
