Best Friends: Blind Horse, Luna, & Her Best Friend SugarBear
Wild and Woolly, An Elephant and his Sheep (Full documentary)
Published on Jul 5, 2013
This is an extraordinary tale of an amazing friendship between a baby elephant, a sheep and a handful of people at Shamwari Rehabilitation Centre. Themba, the baby elephant, lost his mother after she fell down a cliff. The team at the Shamwari Rehabilitation Centre rescued him and for two years they dedicated their lives to getting this very special orphan back to the wild.
Themba befriended a very patient sheep named Albert, and together they formed a bond as strong as any human friendship. Albert never left Themba’s side and would follow Themba and his carers on long walks; share in Themba’s favourite snack of acacia pods; and when Themba took a dust bath, so did Albert. If any of the other animals at the Rehabilitation Centre tried to join in their fun and games, super protective Albert would make it quite clear that they were most unwelcome. The unlikely pair made friends with a baby giraffe, and enemies with a baby hippo. There was never a dull moment when Themba and Albert were around!
Gorgeous choco-point kit as Abby! Yup, I’m partial to them too…always said my Sushi had little blueberry eyes! My sis called her tootie patootie as a kitten or…tiny tootie! Aw, happy memories of kit/s now in the Meadow!
Have a GR8 evening JK! Love the “Fat Cat” band! Those meezers do have a lot to say. Love the music notation fun – actually got, well most of it. So Grumpy Cat paid a visit, how honoured we are! Kit in tool bag looks a bit like Dorry, only bigger.
Anyway just revived after passing out from the total cuteness of Main Page kit – that teeny tail! Don’t tell Dorry I said so!
But really wonder where day went. And tomorrow another early am for opthamologist appt. I’ll get there on time and he’ll likely show up late as per usual. Whatever *sighs*. Have to nix the eye makeup for exam, should be the worst thing in my life LOL.
the weather got really nice today, and im off from work for the day. i figured since i was sick lately, and now i feel good again, i’m going to get a little exercise in. it was worth it. saw 2 cute sikh men, 2 cute hassidic guys, got some bubble tea, and enjoyed the afternoon. it felt good to relax a bit after stress and sickness build up. n i can never stop praising new yrok city because it always has countless lovely places to walk around. i need to get a new charger and memory card for my camera, so i can go snap stuff again. i am really grateful for being given the chance to live in this city.
Hi all – so glad to be back here! Love the music joke, I actually ‘got’ all of it.
As Nirmal said, it has been a beautiful day. Rain/cool down tomorrow. Trudged thru the snow and brought ziti and rolls to neighbor.
The cats wanted to know what I brought them!
Was warmer here today as well, and might be my imagination but peeps seemed to have a better outlook. That said was told to expect big storm tomorrow nite with lots and lots of snow. Was too good to last *sighs*. Hate to leave you alone in Café with kits and sharp tools, but they know you so you’ll be OK. Been up since 04:45 hrs and basically non-stop since. Must call it an early nite. Have a good evening!
yea they had me sub yesterday n wanted me to sub again. i was supposed to go to this lovely egyptian family. only problem is they have grandkids over, their daughter is very busy, and the grandparents who r my charges don’t speak english and you can’t communicate with them . so i passed on a second day. i had a feeling the situation would be tough for 6 hours taking them to a dr appt.
Good afternoon all, love all the pics. LOL at the kitty and the mouse, very familiar antics here. JK, love the musical jokes.
The day started off overcast and coolish so I headed out to do some plant buying while the temperatures were bearable. Now the sun is out and it’s hot hot hot. We have a tropical cyclone coming to dump heaps of rain and gale force winds on us for the weekend, so I am getting my winter flowers and vegetables in so they can make the most of the weather.
Shadz is busy soaking up the warmth before heading in to cover when it gets too hot.
That family with the angry cat need to begin treating it properly and take it to the vet in case there is something causing it’s bad moods. I hope some animal group check on the cat to see if it is being well treated and to see what the family intend doing with it now.
Off to raid the fridge for salad ingredients for lunch.
Nirmal, it must be so interesting to meet so many folks of so many cultures, NYC is the perfect place for that!
Hi MS, take care when those winds/rains come in. Shadz will no doubt find a good place to hunker down. Oh have you seen the hot pink claw polish she’s sporting?
@joan – yeah it is. i love this city. always full of interesting people, food and sights. theres a little fruit stand near us, n i wandered around there. didnt buy a nything but there were olives with mint n other stuff. gotta try that soon
