Plum sauce and I’ve discovered Mum’s recipe she has used for years and closely guarded is Aunt Daisy’s recipe.

Was it a scorcher down your way Jcat?

Yes, it was, MS, but I managed to get a bit of the lawn cut despite the raging heat. Most of the time, of course, I am at the computer working away…

But I got my first ever ripe apricot off my apricot tree. It tasted yummy!

I was picking plums in the heat and now I’m slaving over a hot stove on a hot night wishing the sauce would reduce quicker than it is. What on earth was I thinking when I started making 6lb of plums into sauce at 10.30 at night. I think the heat got to me.

Ohhhhhhhhh, you got lawns done, mine need mowing too. How’s Millie today, none the worse for her little upchuck lastnight?

Apricot! You have an apricot tree and it fruited? Ohhhhhhhh, I’m jealous. They dn’t grow well this far north.

Well, there are about ten fruit on it and only one of them was ripe. But I am looking forward to future marvellous harvests. I love apricots. I think I may have to plant another one. Then I might get 20 fruit, lol.

Millie seems fine, thank God, no more upchucking grass, no more toppling off high places, touchwood. She will be the death of me, this kitten.

LOL, two trees for 20 apricots. I’m keeping watch on my nectarine tree, there can be as little as one day between just about ripe and over ripe.

Awwwwwwwww Millie is just keeping you on your toes.

I see we have a severe cold weather warning out for the Sth Island and then heading up the country. Grrrrrrrr, we don’t need any more chilly nights. Roll on February with it’s fantastic weather, I hope.

Ooh, I love nectarines and I planted a tree the year before last but I think it has died through lack of water 🙁 I don’t know why because it’s been raining non-stop almost all summer.

This year has been odd that way Jcat, despite all the rain we’ve had and it’s been plenty the gardens and trees are still needing constant watering.

Poor tree, I’m a very bad tree meowmy. Sorry to disappear on you, MS, but it’s my bedtime and Millie Billie is hinting that she wants her comfy duvet to curl up on. I am afraid I will have to leave you to stew in your plum juices — but think how yummy the sauce will be in the months to come. Nighty-night, sweet dreams and sleep well and smooches to Shadz.

Nighty night Jcat, and yes I’m certainly stewing in plum and vinegar aroma.

Sweet dreams and chin scritches for Libs & Millie.

Sweet dreams, Jcat and hi MS. Let me know what you think of “Falling Skies”; Mr. K & I watched the whole first season.

Goodmorning Kilroy. We’re enjoying Falling Skies so far and we’re about 4 episodes in I think.
