Be it haiku, sonnets, dub or free verse, this Special Day is for creating some really bad verse. Purrhaps it allows us to better appreciate good poetry.

Just trying to see if I can at least start thread – no success so far.
    🙁

Good morning! I agree…cats are poetry in motion…marvelous creatures…hopefully I admire them enough to stay on their good side. :).

KZ, I was so glad to see that your hip injection went well. Hope it gives you long lasting relief. Hope daughter heals quickly as well.

Good morning – I was considering sending a mass email when TDK was down. Realized I’m missing ECB’s email. When you can, would you send me an email, ECB? Good to be able to keep in touch just in case! I can be reached at lv655b at yahoo dot com. Thanks!
Anywho, KM was probably up all night, so thank you for getting enough gum out of the lock to let us in!
Bad poetry, um, guess I’d be good at that since I’m not much of a poet. Funny pics!
AV, I replied to your comment yesterday but I don’t think it posted. The closest I’ve gotten to a cat’s middle name is the initial “T”. As in Shaddo T. or Mackerel T, the T standing for ‘the cat’. I’ve never found a suitable middle name for Leela. Actually, in “Futurama”, Leela’s full name is Tauranga Leela, so purrhaps Miss Leela actually goes by her middle name!

So it seems that I’m on! Gum out of the lock – I like the image JJ! I’d be trying to get door open with hairpin, or credit card LOL.
Dorry does not boast a middle name as his official name is Dorian Gray Esq. and I think that this enough for one small silver grey tabby.
Went to Home Depot and ordered new washer, delivery in a week or so and arr for friend/Hazel to be here. And discovered that by taking a relatively short trip to store I saved like $50 as delivery becomes FREE! Plus I was able to see the model and had a long chat with the super-nice mgr re features, delivery questions, etc.
Seems that all our beloved site features are here, as in one can see who’s online once again and I like the way the site looks. Will have to check it out more l8r.

New TDK Land has a fresh look/approach to site.

Hey Joan…just sent you an email.

Yay for progress on the washer front, KJ!

I’m excited…have gotten three good recommendations for violin instructors for younger son. Just left a message with one and will follow up with the others if he doesn’t work out. Younger son took piano for two years and had a knack for it…so much so that his teacher really accelerated his progress…good in that it kept him from getting bored…but bad in that he got a bit burned out. Anyways he still composes ditties and plays by memory and ear on the piano…plays around on it on and off all day long. But he’s forgotten how to read music. Anyways, he loves music and we thought it would be good to encourage him to try formal lessons again. He chose violin.

How about some throwback bad poetry?
When I was in high school, I gave a report on computer-generated poetry. I don’t remember what computer where output this one, but it was titled “Children”:

“Sob suddenly, the bongos are moving.
Or could we find that tall child?
And dividing honestly was like praying badly,
And while the boy is obese, all blast could climb.
    First you become oblong.
To weep is unctuous, to move is poor.”

I called my presentation “First You Become Oblong: A Study of Computer Poetry.” It included having the class put together a poem from words selected haphazardly from the dictionary. I don’t remember that poem, only that a lot of imagery involving horses made its way into it.

Who knew a jaunt to Home Despot would get you free delivery. Awesome KJ!

It took my N (niece)IL a few interviews before they found the ideal violin teacher but now Alia is doing so well.

Waves to JJ, Leena and JK.

Ah, wonderful rain! A storm is here with cooling winds and rain.

    better get off computer-lightening

    Crossover vid.

JJ, is that really Leela’s full name? Something seems odd about that and yet familiar. Oh on checking it is Turanga. Just one letter out from a Kiwi city name that is Maori.
Shadz doesn’t have a middle name. We thought Moonshadow was enough name for such a wee kitty.
Gotta fly for a while. Back later.

Apparently Dude goes by his middle name too ….. ’cause his first name is ‘The’! LOL

Well, school is back in swing here ….. traffic has gotten back to it’s usual nightmare in the mornings and 2pm. Our news has been ranting about overcrowding, I guess we had another ‘babyboom’ about 5-6 years ago ….
Picked Mr. AV up from returning from a golfing vaca with his guys group (we call them ‘porch monkeys’ …. he had a good time, but is worn out …. Abby and I enjoyed our ‘girl time’, and made all our fav dishes that he doesn’t like while he was gone!
    Have a great evening all!

School AV? Here, kids have just arrived back from camp! Mid-August seems way early.
Meant to catnap as I’m srsly exhausted. But decided best to plough through the day with intention of early bed. So finished latest sweater (same as the lilac one posted few wks back, but in jade.) Now if I catnap now I could easily wake up much later and then the whole schedule would go whack again which would be very not good. At least I got some things done. Still a tad apprehensive as to whether A/C guy is qualified to address mold issue, asked (on vaca) landlord for input, the decision is his to make. Plus Mr. A/C is not back til wknd so no point worrying, although somehow I manage to do this and all too well. *Sigh*

I am back. Had to shoot off and do a blood test.
Thinking on the middle name issue, maybe Shadz middle name is Moonshadow as she is so often called HRH. It is a name that she has acquired since we came on TDK and I can’t remember who first gave it to her.
LOL at ‘gum out of the lock’ comment, it does make me wonder how many locks you have gummed in your youth JJ. 😮 😉
KJ, sounds like that trip to the store was worth it, $50 saving just for putting in your order instore. Wow.I thought most stores preferred on line ordering.
JK nice weeping willow. I love picnicking under a weeping tree on a hot day, the dappled shade is so restful.
ECB, I learned piano but rebelled at the rigid structure of cup your hands, bend your fingers, elbows out. I just wanted to make those keys sing. Gave up after two years and continued to play, create my own pieces and play most tunes I liked by ear. I learned clarinet at high school just to get out of a lesson(can’t remember what it was) and was later coerced into joining the city orchestra. I couldn’t read music but found it came back to me quickly. Our youngest learned violin and thoroughly enjoyed it although the cat at the time didn’t. 🙄 🙄
Leeny, that is an interesting poem. Different and rather enjoyable.
PG, you have been hiding your poetry talent from us. 😆
Love your first pic with the William Blake quote. Perfect.
AV, one tired man and you an Abby happy after your girl time. Wonderful.

Yeah, can you believe school is starting SO early here in Fla! They’re trying to reset the school calendar this year, and have to work around mandated hurricane days …. too helter/skelter for me!

Miss Gaea is the only one who has a middle name. It’s Irena from the 1942 Cat People movie which is based on The Bagheeta.

I call Miss Moppet “Floppet” for fun.

School has started here as well…finally! They’ve changed the school year schedule so much. I still don’t get snow days. This is Colorado!

Sorry Leeny for mis spelling your name.

Fun poetry and pics! Nice to get a price break for the washer, KJ. I learned to read music in school, but preferred to play by ear, so reading music now is kind of like reading a foreign language I only took one semester of.
Thank you for getting us thinking about cats’ middle names, AV. MS, I thought you would like that little tidbit about Leela’s name. It’s possible it is spelled the same as the city in NZ.
Went to the movies to see a Rifftrax screening of the Japanese cult classic “Mothra”.
