Mysterious, weird, surreal and perhaps a little scary. Every once in a while, we have a day like this. Today is designed to be that day.

Good Morning – I like The Twilight Zone, so many good stories. One of my favorites is when the man and his dog die and an imposter tries to lure him into hell. Hell doesn’t allow dogs so the guy doesn’t fall for it.
Clipped some lilacs yesterday and set them on top of the fridge – out of Comet’s reach. Not even an hour went by when I developed a headache and sore throat. Had to put them outside. Love the smell but apparently must admire them outside!

Me too Joan, I love the scent of lilacs outside….I bring them in and ugh, they are just too strong. They don’t seem to bother my allergies, but my nose is way too sensitive to floral scents.

I love the Twilight Zone theme!! LOVE the pic of the black cat with the black panty hose and white shoes!! 😆

Today’s theme is fun! Classic TV shows are great. The scratching at the door thing is funny…that would be quite alarming if I didn’t know it was our cats…lol.

I wish I smelled lilacs outside…today in Jacksonville all you smell is forest fire. There’s a big one on the FL/GA border and the smoke has travelled to cover the city today. I have a particular hatred for that smell. I always have to wash my hair and clothes right away when I’ve been near a campfire.

We’re at a teacher’s house right now and younger son is doing his end of year assessment so the county knows he actually is learning something. I’m admiring a cute petite tabby cat…they have 6 cats! Must be good people.

Where do you guys come up with these pics?! 😆

ECB, they MUST be good people to have 6 cats!! Now with Peso, I will have 5 inside cats…am I nuts or what? Good thing I have a fairly big house with an upstairs, seriously. But I just couldn’t let him die. He is doing so good, just started him on wet food yesterday. I spoon feed it to him, and he loves it. He doesn’t know how to lap it up yet, but will eat from a spoon or my finger. He’s much happier now with his tummy full and not with just milk.

KZ, I saw a Peso mention the other day and wondered about it. I missed the back story. I take it he needed a home and your is the one? :). How old is he? What does he look like? What do the other kitties think?

Forgot to share a story with you guys…. Tough house client (who has three indoor/outdoor cats) recently had a birthday. A group of friends came over and presented her with a lovely, thoughtful gift…a robin figurine that has a motion sensor and makes a very lifelike robin sound when you walk by. She left it in the open box on the table and went out with her friends. When she came home from her outing the robin was nowhere to be found. She looked everywhere. She had me look everywhere when I cleaned…nope. I thought I found it at one point but it was a real bird under the bed…a dead wren. :(. Their younger boy kitty gets birds. I bet he took the robin and it’s outside somewhere. Her yard is a maze of plants and bushes and gardens so it may never be found. I just think it’s so funny that even a bird statue that doesn’t move but did make noises was enough to capture their attention. Silly kitties.

Well ECB, he was the last of 4 kittens in the milk house that the mother black cat had. Two disappeared together, then a stripey one, then the little black and white ‘cow cat’ was left. This is the one I took in, as I was sure he would be next as Mr. KZ was reporting to me the kittens’ disappearance. There were remains of the third kitten on the table where he feeds all the cats and he was afraid it was from the kitten. I asked him to go get the kitten and bring it to me. He was only 2 to 2-1/2 weeks old. He is now a week older and is doing very well. I couldn’t let that kitten be ravaged by raccoons, it just makes me shudder to think of it. We named him after Avery’s favorite cartoon, “The Octonauts” and there is a character that is a penguin named Peso. He is black and white too, and it’s easy for her to say. She loves him and helps me with him. We just have to be careful to remind her to be gentle, also explaining what gentle means! 😀

Oh, and the other kitties are hissy but not as much now as a week ago. He is interesting to them now as he walks across the floor. He smells familiar to them and when he cries they come running and inspect him. But this is how they all came to live with us, rescued from certain death when their mothers make their nests in barns with raccoons. So they will just have to get over it! 😛

Aww, how sweet! Thanks for sharing the story, KZ! How wonderful that Avery gets to help raise a kitten.

Hi Joan, HI katzenjammer, Hi ECB, Hi Pussigato, Hi Moonshadow, Hi Kittyzee, Hi Jeankit. I know all of you won’t remember me but I really have missed you’all so much.
I haven’t been able to follow or join in for a long time but I really needed a lift today and logging into Daily Kitten was what came to mind.
You guys are so, so smart and clever. You’all come up with unbelievable things and today is certainly no exception.
I bought some lilac perfume—the real thing and paid a lot for it and can’t stand smelling it. I thought it would be great b/c my mama had a lilac bush when I was little. I don’t know what to do with it.
ECB, so sorry for your having to go through being close to a wildfire that’s not controlled. It breaks my heart every time I hear of one threatening the lives of people and I try not to think of the wildlife.
Very, very sorry all; I don’t at all mean to sound down; I’m not, just tired.
Thanks to everyone again for the great posts today—and everyday!
    Lois Dell/LDS (I don’t remember how I signed in.)
