    Hi TDKers,

I do love the trip ur hoomin. How many times have I had to jump or twist to avoid squishing a fur ball?

    Here’s one:

A while back, I found this fast remedy for arthritis pain. The heat eases the pain so If you don’t mind the goopy feel…

    2 cups quick cooking Oats
    1 cup water
put oats & water in a bowl and warm in the microwave for 1 minute. Cool slightly; apply mixture to your hands for soothing relief of arthritis pain.

    Static electricity
This is a real problem here and when I lived in New Mexico. This works well enough-as least I don’t shock my fur balls every time I touch them.

To a 24 oz or larger spray bottle, mix the 1 part liquid fabric softener to 5 parts water. Shake, then lightly spray over the carpet and allow to dry. (Be sure and test a small inconspicuous area first to be sure it won’t stain).Repeat about every 2-3 months, or when the carpet begins shocking people again.

    One day til TGIF:

Good morning – Since it’s garbage day, I’ll share a little tip for living in bear country. I put the bags of used kitty litter on the top of the garbage in the can when it goes outside. I’ve seen bears break into garbage only to be repulsed by the used kitty litter. They grunt, and move on!

Great tips and funny pics! I love the top one cause I love Lil’ Bub!!
I have a funny story this morning. Oldest dau is hand raising a little kitten she found on a job site, little grey thing she has named Wren. In the meantime, they dropped a tree and found 3 baby squirrels so now she is raising those–on goat’s milk! These things are the funniest creatures ever, they run up and down your arms, make funny baby squirrel noises, race around your neck so fast you could shriek with laughter! Anyway, she noticed that they weren’t pooing and peeing in their nest box, but would leave it and go on the floor. She put a low litter box down with litter in it, and lo and behold, those little things are in there digging and scratching like a cat doing their business in the box! I have learned something new about squirrels! I will never be able to look at one the same again. And I think I have passed my *rescuing every baby animal syndrome* on to my daughters and now my granddaughters too… 😆

Oh my, those squirrels sound like the cutest things, KZ!

Great pics today…bright idea cat cracks me up. The cat in the mailbox reminds me our mailman must love us….wasps keep trying to build a nest in ours. We spray but they come back.

That’s cool about the cat litter repelling bears, Joan. Glad it’s good for something. :).

I enjoyed my crab education yesterday. I don’t eat any seafood and don’t like the beach (bad Floridian, I know) so I guess I didn’t know much about crabs! Sure was surprised to see one so far inland.

Morning friends! …. KZ, I’ve recused baby squirrels with my grandfather as a child, and then again with my children when they were young …. I imagine the ‘gene’ will also get passed along to the grandkids (when they come) ….

EC, I hope you will at least try seafood, it’s one of my absolute favorite foods! …. as far as the beach – I love it, but it doesn’t like me anymore …. can’t get out in the sun, and the water/bacteria wreaks havoc on my poor skin … so my beach days are over …. my place of choice is the NC mountains …..

I may need to get use to the dessert … Son is thinking of taking a job in Las Vegas, and Mr. AV and I would seriously consider moving out there to be near him ….. at least the mountains would be in the back ground there ….. we’ll just have to see where life leads! PG, that’s a great tip for relieving static! I’ll have to try that!

LOL @ Joans’ bear repellant …. we did that in NC, then our subdivision got these ‘bear cans’ …. those really worked well! …. although sometimes the bears would wrestle the cans down the street trying to get them open LOL ….

busy THorsday here, I’d best get to imputing ….. have a great one all!

We have the same problem, Joan. People still don’t get it.

AV-St. George, UT is beautiful and 1.5 hours from Las Vegas. It’s situated before the deserts of Nevada. It’s has the nickname of “The Florida of the Southwest.” There are some hot, hot days but not like Las Vegas. Also, the Southwest has very little humidity. Carson City, NV is nice but about 6 hrs. from Las Vegas.

Of course being in real estate, you could find this out for yourself.

I’m glad you had a great vaca.

That is so cute about the baby squirrels, KZ! It sure does sound like the ‘save baby everything’ gene has been passed down!
I’ve never seen a crab so far inland either, ECB – thought they always needed to be near water.
The mountains of NC are indeed lovely, AV. The mountains of NJ are pretty nice too! MIL called today and asked me for the frozen key lime pie recipe. Of course I am happy to share it, but for a split second thought about keeping it a TDK secret – but of course it’s too good not to share! And wonderfully easy to make.
Welcome back, JK – glad you had a nice vacay! I love that you bring the trio with you. You don’t have to get a sitter and you don’t have to miss them or worry about how they are without you.
We have bear cans around here too. Problem is the bears beat them up trying to get in them and eventually they don’t close properly. The garbage collectors aren’t too fond of them either, as they have to take the time to twist them off. We don’t have any, we just keep them as clean as possible, and I swear the used kitty litter works!
It’s been cloudy and drizzly here today. Had some heavy rain and a t-storm overnight, and more rain later. A welcome relief.

Welcome back, JK! I agree with Joan…so wonderful that you can travel with your kits!

Eko and Leo have made great strides in rehabilitating their friendship after their surgeries. Just caught them napping together and snapped a photo….then played around on photobucket. :).

Didn’t know you could do that on photobucket. Is that how you added captions, PG?

Less/limited internet access during working hours for officemate/myself.
So will be on only briefly at lunch & toward end of day. Pfft! 🙁

    Oh man, JK….that stinks!!!

Love the FL map, PG. Don’t have my reading glasses on, but it looks like Jacksonville is split down the middle. Accurate f so. I grew up on the redneck side of town. :).

Agree ECB, we are wondering about the perks of this place since pay is relatively low.

    Welcome redneck friend!
Love the pics of Crockey, Leo and Eko! Leela likes them too, insisting I show her one pic, then the other, then repeat. Eye candy for her!
I’ll echo ECB, oh man, JK…that stinks!!! At that place we could do what we want, as long as the work got done. Well, the work was never done, but I kept a TDK window open and minimized, and took a peek when I needed a minute or three away. Tux will make sure you have everything you need when you pop in during lunch, after work, whatever.

JerseyJoan…love your new TDK name! Normally I resist change, but it’s so zippy, snazzy, catchy!
