A rug should be smooth, even, and definitely not lumpy. Many stretch out on a rug to watch TV, play games, and even catch 40 winks. If the rug is lumpy, we’ll know it. If you never had a lumpy rug, count your blessings. You don’t know what you’re missing.

I have lots of lumpy rugs around my house..but mostly they are twisted and put in places that they shouldn’t be….thanks to Peso who acts like they are his only friends. He rarely sits still…ant now has taken to looking up at the ceiling like there are ghosts up there. Mr. KZ said more likely they are mice running around that only he can hear. Seriously drives me crazy because I think there could be a spider ready to drop on my head.

Well, off to have a girl day with Avery and her mom! Oh what fun after getting a ‘new doo’ yesterday and I’m loving it even more today! So easy and I may even go shorter in the back next time–sounds like KJ, doesn’t it? 😆

Rugs certainly do get washed, at least I hope they do! Friends from the Middle East say that traditionally they were spread out in a (clean) courtyard and washed by hand, nowadays using a hose, in earlier days, just buckets of water. They dried quickly in the arid climate.

I have very few rugs in my house, just small ones, and pretty much all of them can go in the wash. I prefer my hardwood floors. I have one of those soft plastic foam mats in front of the kitchen sink; those are easy to wash off by hand. Yes, there are a few claw marks in it, but it is for work, not for show.

    Hi Efurryone,

It’s day 3 of rain and Miss Gaea is, oh so, unhappy but we’ve got over 1″ in Denver! All of the places I’ve lived in had carpeting but beds and chairs are a danger. I can tell if MG or LBG is underneath but have to feel around to make sure I’m not sitting MM. She’s so slender and flattens out. 😮

I was trying to figure out your new hairstyle, KZ. I’m not familiar with bobs. How many inches did you cut off?

I may have asked this before but do any of you watch “Too Cute” on Animal Planet? If you ever have a bad/sad/icky day, this show will perk you right up. 😆

Today is a good day for pedicure.

    Have a happy~

KZ, new “do” sounds awesome. I’m thinking that an inverse bob looks a bit like this?

I double-dare you to go as short as me! Hehehe.Shaved sides and back, bit of length on top, works for me!

PG, the orangie laminate floors look like the nes in my current abode. And how synchronistic as floor guy just did repair job. Swelling had receded so took almost no time. And he was quite friendly and liked Dorry.

I have a variety of rugs that I change up with the seasons. They all go in the washer and hang dry.

Supposedly Cleopatra had herself rolled in a rug and delivered to Caesar. Wonder if flying carpets work. Ohhh I feel an earworm coming on! Oh the memories (KJ dances around her place.)

Finished a “ballerina neckline” sweater. This pm plan to assemble and wash it.

But first must make the world a happier place via coffee! I should watch that show PG,for sure I could use it! 🙂

I posted a link that looks like my cut, and a little more blonde than mine too.

Yes, KJ, that’s the hair, only mine is a tad bit longer than that. It’s smooth today, but I can switch it up and curl it for a messier look. I may go shorter next time and spend even less time drying, flat ironing, etc. It would be awesome if I could rock your hairstyle, but I couldn’t pull it off.

PG, I was so tired of the length and how long it took me to dry, style, etc. because my hair does NOT look nice when it’s air dried. I have a lot of hair, but it’s very fine and ‘weird wavy’. 😆

    #14, #15, #16 – then I’ll pick my fave! 😉

KZ, I wish that I had purrfectly straight hair. Then I’d try a 20s style bob. Or a style like yours. Now my style is an acquired taste, which I’ve happily acquired. LOL I don’t have to but I still use a paddle brush, round brush and dryer. Stylist gave me lesson on how he dries it.

It’s raining out srsly, making my place feel like a sauna. Finished sweater and tossed in in washer on “hand-wash”. Then for its 1st time I flat dry it on a rack. Then it’s back to a cable sweater, until my new yarn arrives. I’m not a knitter who has several projects going at the same time. And won’t be doing any of these – ever! 😉

Plus I have 2 loads of bedding, sheets, etc. to fold and put in those vacuum storage bags. But once it’s done and I sink into a freshly made bed tonight I’ll appreciate it.

No matter what the season I like the weight of a duvet.

I’m proud of my curly-kinky hair, though it needs a good cut not to look like a lumpy rug! It is in a sort of bob, though one with a bevel at the bottom so as not to look clownesque. If I hot-comb my hair, it looks like some unfortunate looks one sees on certain ladies of African descent (I actually do have a biracial ancestor from the Caribbean, though I have blue-green eyes and skin of a hue considered (olivey) white). I use argan oil to keep it moist and curling properly, not a mess of frizz.

Livia has the most lustrous pure black fur. To dye for!

Used to like duvets, though I find they get… lumpy. Now I’m back to my old woollen Hudson’s Bay blankets, and a lighter one in the summertime. I have a blanket that was a postwar wedding gift to my parents, so it must be about 70 years old. Of course that dear old thing is a middle layer when it is horribly cold here (in wintertime, I like a cool bedroom with a lot of covers, and a cat or two). I remember it being the most beautiful rose colour when I was a girl, but now it is sort of beigeish. I bought a PINK Bay blanket at a bazaar run by an order of nuns, so the goods shone in godliness and cleanliness.

Right now it is foggy and “soft”, as they say in Ireland for a misty day. Not cold. And green things are springing up.

I’m so happy to see the half-grown tiger kitten and the two little dogs (Boston terriers?) who have moved in on the other side of the lane.

I love a soft, fluffy duvet too all seasons KJ! I love the texture and floofiness and it’s really not hot. But I have to get the fleece sheets off my bed because last night I had the worst night of sleep ever! Goodness, it was so hot and stuffy and I couldn’t stay asleep..then the cats would poke and prod…Mr. KZ was snorfeling loudly…I turned the AC on this morning and it shouldn’t be as uncomfortable tonight. But I could probably sleep through anything now!

Lagatta, your hair sounds lovely. Mine isn’t curly..it doesn’t have enough ‘oomph’ to scrunch up an look good if I air dry it, but oh how I wish I had wash and wear hair!

Good afternoon all, it’s a beautiful sunny day here after a nippy start. I’m taking it easy today after getting to an appointment 2 hours and three day too early. DOH !
I have one lumpy rug, it is a long ‘haired’ shaggy rug that is wonderful to bury your toes in but has seen better day and really should be tossed out.
Oh poor Miss Gaea not being able to go outside because of the rain.
Shadz never went under a rug unless it was already rolled up and then it was fair game for running through at top speed and lurking by the end to whack unsuspecting legs passing by.
Love the laminate cat rug and Aladdin.
KJ, I checked out ballerina necklines but there were several styles, wide scoop, crossover or deep V. Which one is yours?
    KZ, great looking style.
My bob is almost the one in KJ’s pic but level right around but at that length.
Oh it’s been so long since I had an ice cream. I will resist choosing though.
Lagatta, the bevel at the bottom of the hair is the perfect description, I have a bevel and my hair curls under just enough to eliminate the clown look although some days it does need encouragement.
We love duvet too but why oh why are the duvet covers just a little bigger than the inner. It encourages the inner to bunch up and become lumpy. I still have my lovely NZ wool blankets I bought decades ago which we use in Spring and Autumn when the weather is so changeable but for Winter its a lovely soft light duvet that sits like a cloud on us.
Snorfeling ! ! Oh I have heard that noise quite a bit from Mr MS before he had his shoulder surgery. I heard gentle snorfeling last night while I was awake for most of the night. Someone snorfeling while you can’t sleep is really irritating.
    😆 😆

    One choice, huh? All 😆

Congrats on the new floor, KJ.

My hair is long, fine and straight. My cousin has black, super curly hair and, as kids, we’d say I wish I had your hair. The problem is it’s so arid that when I use stuff, my hair splits and flys-away. *sigh* Long and straight works except when Miss Gaea gets on our pillow and my hair. She fusses if I move her. IMO, the picture of the kittah in bed is definitely true here.

Miss Gaea has a double coat with the softest fur. Miss Moppet has a perennial bed head look. LilBit is very meticulous.

Early to your appointment, MS? Been there, done that and sometimes, even a week early. 😮

I washed my Spring/Summer duvet. It’s down and snuggly but not too warm. What, indeed, did those poor kits do?

It stopped raining and, now, I have jungle in the back yard. I love the rain and the mountains got up to 1′ of snow. Yea!

When I was a younger KJ if you didn’t have long straight hair like Michelle Phillips or Peggy Lipton, well just forget it! Not having the “right” look might very well have impacted my life! 🙄

MS, I like the look of that minimalist LR – the cat rug, not so much.

It gets on my nerves when duvet cover doesn’t fit purrfectly. And I have some covers that are King size with my Queen size, so I have to adjust things so that the overlap gets tucked in.

I think that they should have taken you at appointment as you were already there. OK, so prob the entire waiting room would have been very dissed – but so?

This is the ballerina collar on my sweater, as it dries:

And PG, what did those kits do to benefit from someone’s knitting talents? They were probably just there. And one likes to use up extra yarn. Of course I would never risk life and limb visiting this embarrassment upon Dorry. My teddy bear was my first fit model for learning how to make sweaters. He has a wardrobe of 4 styles and I have one in this colour too. And no we don’t dress alike and go out in public.
