The Wolf sits by the great tree and watches; he is always watching.

Yet another party has started at the Meadow, with the lush green grass tipped in silver, but not cold or wet to the touch. Trees sparkle with lights that have no plugs, they just twinkle. Fish jump and tease kittens from the brook. Animals there never feel anything but happiness and extreme awareness of those they left behind. So they are partying! They are watching the “TDK” cafe/lounge, and have decorated similarly. This is one of those special times when, if you open your mind and heart, you just might hear purring in the outside air.
    Miracles happen.

Last week, my hometown shelter said goodbye to Noel, a kitty who had been there for a while and battled cancer. I asked if my sister’s cat Ranger, who is my family’s latest ‘kitty whisperer’ rang the bell under the tree. Apparently not, not that evening. However…
Out of nowhere, not knowing anything about Noel, a family member from out of state texted to share news about her kitty, Jasper. Jasper is a survivor of a horrific crime. It has been over 2 years, and the night Noel died, Jasper came out of hiding when called and sat on her lap. Jasper got the word, and sent the message.

Many years ago I dreamed of my sister’s cat PJ. PJ was very popular in the family, taking over the street he lived on. He was sorely missed when he went to the Bridge after a long life. I dreamed of him once, and called to let my sister know. I also noted that there was another kitty with him. I described the kitty, and sister said “Jackie died this morning”. I never met Jackie – she had a rough start in life and never came out of hiding when anyone was at the house. PJ sent the message thru me. All was well.

I have since dreamed of my Shaddo, who many family members refer to as coming from PJ’s mold, personality-wise. Sometimes there is another kitty or two that I can’t see or don’t recognize. I wake wondering who the cat is, and who I am supposed to deliver a message to. Recently, I dreamed of my long ago departed Taz, and thought of her all day. That night, I saw both Shaddo and Taz in a dream. They were together, waiting. All is well.

Thank you for posting this, Joan. It’s hard to think back on the kitties I’ve lost, but at least we only lost one in 2013. Sweet Dom had to be helped to the Bridge, but her pain was too great to allow her to suffer any longer. Her body now rests at the base of a young oak tree. But if there’s a Rainbow Bridge, I know her spirit must be busy playing there like a young cat again with her big brother, Bunky, who’s been waiting there for her for years.

Thank you for this thread. A dear friend in TN, Frankie, has been in the hospital for a month slowly recovering from severe complications following a major surgery. A friend of hers from her church had been going over to her house every day to care for her cat Mr. Blackie. Mr. Blackie had a rough life for unknown years. He was a stray who took up residence in her detached garage and would eat food put out on the back stoop. After Frankie’s cat Snookums died two years ago, Mr. Blackie finally accepted coming inside the house and settled in. He’s been showing his age lately; i.e. needing pet steps to get up and down from the bed and piano bench. While Frankie has been in the hospital Mr. Blackie had seemed to be doing fine with daily care visits. Sadly, though, he was found dead one morning about 10 days ago, lying in his favorite spot with a tiny trickle of blood and spittle from his mouth. Poor thing likely had a heart attack, stroke, or seizure. My friend has lived in that house her entire life so asked that Mr. Blackie be buried in the back yard amongst all the other kitties who have graced Frankie’s life.

Thank you so much for this post! It is exactly what I needed since losing Tasha last week – I’ve been hoping to dream about her for her to tell me she is ok – but hasn’t happened yet. I’ve been telling my other kitties too that if they see her to let her know I love her and miss her so much.

Hoping she’ll visit me in a dream soon.

    Thanks!
