*bump* Any natural way to minimize insect destruction is great. Bonus: you get to bird-watch!

Speaking of gardening, the box of Triscuit I bought last week has this weird patch which is supposed to help grow basil. Anyone want it and the instructions when I’m done with the box?

We have Baltimore Orioles in our yard every year and you cannot believe how gorgeous they are. But, for such beautiful birds, they have the most annoying cry. ACK – it’s like nails on a chalkboard. I already have their feeder up because it’s been so unusually warm that I think they’ll be here earlier this year. They winter in Mexico along with our hummingbirds.

Mr. K thought about getting a bird feeder to hang on our balcony so Georgie could bird watch (can you see why Mr. K is Georgie’s favorite hoomin?), but we’re 15 floors up and we have it from an expert that not even the seagulls and pigeons will come up that far 🙁 We get the occasional squirrel, but that’s it. Oh, and a pigeon laid 2 eggs on the balcony a couple of years ago, but they never hatched.

We have bird feeders hung for that very reason, Kilroy. We call it Kitty TV

He does like the bees that come around when we have flowers on the balcony in the summer. I should do some research on which flowers to get to make sure we get bees.

Georgie spoiled? Whatever gave you that idea? 🙂

Hmm, don’t triscuits come in asst’d flavors now? How about buying fresh herbs and using your crackers to make some triscuit tiramisu instead:
