St. Paddy’s day is coming up quick. It certainly has evolved than more than a celebration of your heritage to a well recognized day to enjoy by many! Do you partake in this holiday’s activities even if you are not Irish?! If so how do you enjoy your St. Paddy’s Day?

In brewtown there is a saying as another day to celebrate with a bubbly toast!

Since there is no St. Stanislaus holiday I usually partake in a little merriment, don’t always wear green but enjoy none the less. It is the yearly 1 time I have corned beef & cabbage/although not a real Irish meal and some yummy Irish Soda Bread! Listen to some fun music and “ring in Spring”!

Neither hubby or I are Irish, nor do we particularly like corned beef & cabbage. However, we do like Shepard’s Pie as well as Irish Soda Bread. Other than wearing green, and the Shamrock earrings I wear once a year, we don’t partake in the activities. The parade in NYC is fun to watch though!

Well, Mr. K’s full name is Michael Joseph Patrick Collins, so yeah, St. Patrick’s Day is kind of a big deal around here 🙂 We don’t go near a pub that day, though; he calls St. Patrick’s & New Years amateur nights. We do make corned beef & cabbage, though.

We aren’t Irish but we do enjoy St. Patrick’s Day. We have a few decorations and I send a few cards out too. I love to make ham or corned beef and serve it with this Cabbage Shepherd’s Pie as a side dish:

I buy the angel hair cabbage in the bag instead of chopping it myself. I’m going to have Glazed Carrots and a spiral ham with this and of course warm, buttered Irish Soda Bread.

I don’t like beer or corned beef but I love Folk music (most music really) so my Celtic Playlist has been playing all week.

I really don’t do much. I do not even have a drop of Irish blood in me. We used to have green milk and lucky charms as a kid. Sometimes my mom made corn beef and cabbage but since St. Pat’s falls during Lent, if it was on a Friday, we had fish. 🙂

Green alert as Shamrock Shakes may still be available but going fast at your local Mickey-D’s! (Didn’t have one yet, but officemate said still was on menu as of today!)

Hubs is of Irish descent, I am not though lol but with a last name like Nunnally how could we not do something? We usually hang with friends. This year there’s a dog show and Kai’s going to be in it. Then we’ll probably hang with friends 🙂

Well I always wear lot’s of green and celebrate my birthday (and no I’ve no Irish blood even though I have red hair) and this year will be the 60th time doing so! Ha, there is ALWAYS a party on my birthday, my mama picked well! We try not to go near an Irish place on the day though now, because of the crowds, but I loved a good bar when I was younger. This year we are going to a wonderful little wine bar to celebrate because they have promised not to have any “green” wine or food that isn’t naturally colored (LOL), we may have corned beef but I love Shepard’s Pie.

…………. I’m half Irish!………….. (my Mom and her sis (Aunt) are both red-headed)………… my Aunt is a member of DAR and traced our family history back to the 1600’s when we came over to the USA………. our name then was O’Bryan……….. and eventually shortened to Bryan……………. one of my ancestors was Rebecca BRYAN Boone (ya know, Daniel’s wife)……….. to this day, my Grandpa didn’t have a male heir, and I named my Son, Bryan to honor his name……………. love being a part of American history!!!

Vanilla ice cream, ginger, ale, green food dye, hmmm. My own concoction – I’ll let you know how it works out if I make it!
