Patti our Kitten Master added a tab for the book club. If you go to that section you can see the questions for discussion. We actually have the discussion right here on TDK! The discussions begin on the 1st of every month. The Dewey questions are there and you can add to them any time. There are a number of us that go back and read the entries. The next book discussion begins on May 1. Please join in anytime!

I’m certainly all for continuing! And, ILMC, could you please remind me when we do the May discussion? That’s my book, The Whistling Season. But I’ve forgotten when we’re supposed to discuss it!

ILMC, I was thinking since my second choice isn’t available in paperback until August if you have another book you want to bump up and then we can come back to that one maybe in September or October (its a biggie!)

May I make a suggestion for a book to slip in if you are wanting to…Rita Mae Brown and Sneaky Pie Brown’s Wish You Were Here… It is a mystery and long in paperback. Has cats and dogs in it…just a thought if you wanted to bump The Hour I First Believed down a month

Are we going with “three weeks with my Brother” for Aug?…. if so, I will go get that one!……

… I’d like to suggest “the Host” by Stephanie Meyers (of the Twilight series) for one of the months, it was really good……

Thanks, ILMC – I’ll get these. (sorry I missed the earlier post) I’ve re-discovered my love of reading; I owe most of it to the TDK book club. Plus, instead of books in boxes in the attic, they are now in an old bookcase that was up in our attic for 20 years. Hubby fixed it up, painted it and it looks…not too bad. We’re not buying many new things; making do with what we have. I just finished “Ghost Rider, the Healing Road” by Neil Peart, the drummer for the band Rush. It’s not about the band, but cronicles his travels as he takes to the road after losing his daughter and wife within ten months. That was a long book. Then I read “Morning, Noon and Night” by the late Spaulding Gray. We were lucky enough to see him in a small venue in north Jersey several years ago before he jumped off the Staten Island Ferry. Why, Spaulding? 🙁

I am now reading “The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul” by the late Douglas Adams, best known for “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”.

    Off to Amazon!

I’ve not yet gotten my hands on a book chosen for TDK Book Club because of my very small library in a very small town but remain hopeful. Has a book been chosen for Nov. &/or Dec.? It’s that time of year for snuggling in a blanket with hot cocoa and a good book! =D

I just ordered the last 2 books – I’m running late. I’ve decided to read the Harry Potter series; my Mom has them.

Karenopa, my parents have a small library, but my Dad has discovered that you can order books from other libraries in the state and have them sent to your local library. He does it thru the library website now. You might check to see it Oregon has the same thing 🙂

Thanks Linda..my library does order books from the other local libraries however the last time I attempted to get one..they didn’t tell me it was also on hold for someone else and I had to return it before I was finished with it. I promise I won’t give up though. =(

Do we have a book for December? I have totally enjoyed expanding my reading tastes. I usually settle in with a mystery or stick with writers I know I like. Even if we don’t do a book for December lets keep this up next year.
