We are obsessed with getting our lives into some sort of a balanced state – be it getting our work and home in order or finding time to relax with family and friends. Yes we struggle but we always find that peaceful place, our nirvana, to unwind, laugh and enjoy. I wonder if cats invented this state of bliss; they sure act like they did…

Long trip; very tired; need purrzzz!

    Have a happy~

It’s the end of another hot muggy day, I took refuge inside by the fans. HRH Shadz asked for another watering down this morning and received it with purrs and by rubbing her wet tail across my legs. Ten minutes later she was dry and and had a huge appetite. Thankfully a good wind sprang up in the afternoon and helped ease the heat down to bearable.

    Hi Efurryone,

Hobo and Maddie are on their way to Ohio. I almost didn’t get to pick them up because my car overheated. 😮 Crawling along for miles at high altitudes can force the engine to work harder so my car overheated. I have an angry with AAA but thankfully; the Colorado Courtesy Patrol came by and put some coolant in. I was 2.5 hours late but Irene met me a bit closer to Denver for our transfer. We doing great on the way until, yes, traffic. I was watching the temp. and as it moved up, I’d pull over for an awhile. Finally, we made to the layover home where they played, played, chowed down and slept.

I talked to my nephew and since this is the first time it happened and I was in unusual traffic conditions, I’m not paying a mechanic to look at it. I’ll keep an eye on the temp.

My babies were glad I was home. They got a late dinner and proceeded to rip snort around the house for a good hour.

All is well this morning. I’m going to have coffee, read the NYT, and veg out.

Do other rescuers help you with fuel costs?

Love Meow has a story about a tiny kitten found in the cold and saved by Chatons orphelins Montréal.

PG, glad you made it home to your crew safe and sound after completing your awesome good deed!

Lagatta, that tail (tale?) about Mini Kiwi is wonderful. And from our very own city too! Good things come in small packages! 🙂

Experiencing spring-like temps today. But we’re not done with the srs cold as yet. At least according to weather peeps.

As for today’s theme. Anything zen or yoga-related simply does not work for me. I seem to be wired otherwise LOL. I relax by getting very busy – ‘cept on Caturday. But I do like the pics especially “This is Meow” Basement Cat! Someone gave me a book entitled “Yoga for Cats” – furry interesting.

*whew* ….. man I haz a tired! ….. yesterday’s parade was surprizingly low-incidents, considering it was 500K+ with all the NHL stuff and people in town ….. the annual porch party was it’s usual fun, this morning, Son and I worked like dogs cleaning up, bagging trash, and yes, changed litter boxes! …. glad that’s all done!!
It’s supposed to rain all day today (yay), so it will actually give the city, streets and all our yards a nice wash down (much needed after the shenanigans) …. I kept Miss Caddy in friday and saturday because of all the commotion and people, but today she got out of kitty jail and was busy remarking her territory again! …. third time in 2 months!! ….. at least while I had her captive audience, I was able to flea treat her, so as it warms up she’ll be ready ….

PG, you get a gold kitty star for helping transport the rescues, you are a gem! have a great Sunday afternoon all!

Good morning all, another hot humid day, actually it’s been one long hot humid week with the heat and humidity only easing slightly overnight and ramping up during the day. Soon it may end with a possible tropical cyclone(hurricane) forming in the Coral Sea likely to bring gales and heavy rain. The ants here are certainly telling me something is coming sometime and I swear by their activity.
PG, that is wonderful that Hobo and Maddie are on their way to Ohio with another angel. Oh my, you really didn’t need an overheating engine but as you say, high altitude combined with unusual traffic conditions may well have been the cause and you may never get that again. I had to chuckle at your babies rip snorting around the house when you returned. I can just picture them too and I bet you had a smile on your face.
Lagatta I love the story of wee Mini Kiwi. Bless the lady who rescued her and took her to the rescue organisation. I did wonder why the name Mini Kiwi but maybe it was because the kitty looked like a tiny fuzzy kiwifruit. I love the stinkeye pic at the vets. 😆
AV, all done with the ‘defend the territory’ for another year. There is nothing like a good rain to wash down streets and revive lawns and gardens and people too. I think miss Caddy will be getting used to ‘kitty jail’ by now.
We have a public holiday for my province today but Mr MS is off working as usual and I am having trouble with my right foot. I think I damaged it during my infamous fall earlier in the month and now the front part of the foot is swollen and painful so I am taking the opportunity to prop the foot up and relax for a while. HRH has found a new sheltered spot to spend some of the day where the sun doesn’t get to but the breeze does. She hasn’t asked for a watering down yet today but the temps were down by about 3 degrees this morning. Having said that we are headed for the upper 20’s and humidity in the 70’s again and worse tomorrow.

I did make it to the cafe today! I took off earlier than usual and on a Sunday as Avery’s mom said “hey, let’s go get our nails done” and that’s all it took. Our nails look great, we ate lunch at a little place called “Half Pint” and we stopped at the Kroger Marketplace and picked up a few things grocery-wise. This store is over the top and offers more than just your usual grocery. And now I’m back again and ready to relax and put my feet up.

PG, you’re awesome for the deliverance of kits to Ohio! Do you know where in Ohio they were going? I’m sure your cats are relieved to have you back.

MS, I chuckled at the idea of HRH getting a watering down and liking it! Cats will never cease to amaze me.

AV, it’s hard to believe that another Gasparilla has come and gone. And none of you the worse for wear. That many people walking and driving by my house would make me sweaty.

Lagatta, hope you are enjoying the somewhat warmer temps. It was chilly and raining here yesterday and my whole body ached. Today I’m much better but sore from yesterday. It’s safe to say that I HATE arthritis.

KJ, I keep meaning to comment on the pics of your beautiful sweater, the many that you have knitted, and Dorry laying on your/his comfy bed. Hope you are feeling good after your bout with tummy issues.

Hi everyone – agency kitties hooked me up with some chocolate cake from yesterday, yum!
Yay for Hobo and Maddie heading for their new home! Bummer on the overheat. Sounds like something just to keep an eye on and not necessary have it looked at immediately.
Glad the parade went well, and Caddy can take care of what she has to outside.
Hope the storm doesn’t cause trouble for you MS, and that it brings cooler temps. If you lived here I could get you to see the podiatrist I work for about your sore foot. Hope resting it does the trick.
Drizzly morning here in Jersey, and cloudy all afternoon. KZ mentioned the birds the other day, and I’ve noticed their happy songs around here too. There’s been a woodpecker hanging around the yard today!

MS, thanks for the tip about ice blocks! It was 38C here yesterday but humidity was 40% so the evap airconditioner wasn’t very effective. Most of yesterday it was 27-28C inside the house. The container of ice didn’t help much and the cats didn’t like being sprayed with water, but Sampson really, really appreciated being offered his water+ice block. And it worked – he didn’t barf on the bed! Currently it’s 31C with 40% humidity; overnight it got as low as 28C, so I’m eagerly awaiting the thunderstorms forecast for later today. Maybe then I can catch up on some sleep.

KZ, your day sounds wonderful. I hate arthritis too.
Yes HRH is just loving being watered down, I guess it’s like having a cool shower for us. When I first tried it some years back she wasn’t at all keen on it, typical cat reaction to water but now she actively seeks it out.
JJ, if the storm develops as they think is possible I believe we will only get some side action but at the moment it’s only a possibility in the meteorologist minds. Ohhhh now a podiatrist is a good idea instead of a Dr visit. Just got to fit it in between all the other things I have on this coming week. Thankfully most schools will be back this week- they’ve been off since mid December, although that means the road traffic will be back to diabolical. Love hearing about your birds JJ.
Well, what do you do when the temperatures and humidity are high? Yesterday I washed and steam mopped the kitchen floor and today I have been working on and adapting a baked vegetable loaf recipe I created recently. Yup, activities involve expending energy and heat. Crazy. 🙄
Lagatta I used the quinoa idea from this recipe to add to my vege loaf from about ten days ago. I hope it lightens the texture. I’ll let you know.

PM, I am glad that Sampson enjoyed the ice block. I would try it with Shadz but she is way outside all day and night at the moment but I do have 5 water dishes set around the property for all who wish to drink.

Lagatta, we volunteer for “The Cat’s Meow” and are responsible for gas, etc. If there’s any emergency, they can help out though. I love wee kiwi! She is so precious and I love her stink eye too.

Gasparilla is over with already? I tell myself, I’ll get down there to see it…soon. 😉 I don’t remember the woman’s name who adopted Hobo and Maddie.

When you said HRH was enjoying showers, I’m what?! But with that heat, it’s as nice for her as for us. I hate to think of a cyclone in your area, however, it may bring much needed cooling winds. When you foot is up, remember to ice it.

Manicures and lunch are just the ticket, KZ.

The weather has been nice. It was about 55f/12c and overcast. There was enough sun for the babies.

The series “A French Village” is ending *sigh*. It so good but all good things must end.

PG, I’ve PVR’d so many mini-series that I don’t know whether I’m coming or going! I like to wait until all episodes are done with so I can binge watch.

Tks KZ. And for asking. My gut issues resolving is still a work in progress. But have gotten advice and am under watchful eye of med profs. We know why this could be happening but at present the best course is to “go with the flow.” LOL and TMI.

MS and PM, hope it gets cooler there and stays warmer here.

And now I’m headed off to bed with some yogurt which is supposedly settling, a book (likewise) and Dorry (purrhaps.)
