They say a glass of wine a day keeps the cardiologist away so that must be the reason for Drink Wine Day. But who say we need a reason to gurgle down a glass of our favorite zesty Bordeaux, anyway? Not only does this make us happy campers, but Bacchus as well! Letโ€™s raise a glass to the French for the hard work theyโ€™ve put into making us more lovable. Santรฉ!

Today was a sunny day and all the kits are happy. We’re suppose to get more snow, sometime, somewhere, someday. ๐Ÿ˜• My car is overheating again so I guess I’ll take to the shop. grrr!

    Have a happy~

Bit early for that in my time Zone. I’m still on my first espresso.

Guess I’ll just have some whine and jees…

Well I don’t drink, but apurreciate those that do – unless they’re driving!

Anyone note new look of TDK site? I am not able to get comments on Star Kit posted. Will try again and did contact KM.

Looks nice outside as in Fri storm snow melted! Off to gym where this wk “posh” Health Club slated to open (after a year’s reno!) which eans that I will be able to get a rental locker in my geeral locker room and not have to tote my stuff in from temp locker room in hall which has not been all that fun. New Club is supposedly all wood/Zen. For $$$$$. All I need is clean/good showers. Zen is so not me!

    Hi MS, Lagatta and KJ.

A wine hangover totally sucks and I apurrciate trying to look serious when drunk!
I have the occasional beer put that’s it.

I’m glad you’re back in the regular lockers. Now you don’t have to put up with the “snooties”.

The TDK format doesn’t do anything for me and I’m having the same problem with logging in to TDK. I also lost the emoji icon, too. ๐Ÿ™

I’m watching the Sunday morning program. Did you know that 93% of Americans believe infidelity is a greater moral crime then domestic violence and cloning. Who knew? Gosh, you’d think we’re a bunch of Puritans.

I sometimes get headaches from red wine – obviously I’m not referring to excess consumption, which will guarantee a headache whatever the colour. Two of my close friends can’t drink red wine at all (headache after half a glass) so it was just white and a bit of rosรฉ at the party.

I knew I’d get zero work done after that afternoon party, even though nobody overindulged. I can’t drink beer at all; can’t digest it.

Now deaths and serious injuries from “distracted driving” i.e. yammering in the cell phone or texting while driving has exceeded casualties from DUI (drunk and/or drugged driving) here for the first time.

Lovely mild weather and a calm, happy Livia!

PG, I alerted KM re the site. Looks weird, clock is gone and I cannot connect to Star Kit to add my (what I consider) witty comment. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hopefully something can be done.

To me beer tastes like shampoo!

Infidelity worse than domestic violence? What is this world coming to? And sadly I’m not surprised.

Lagatta, so many times I see peeps driving while under the influence of their cell. When I become a “near miss” I know that I should get the license number and report incident, but I’m too panicked to do so. ๐Ÿ™ And then there are peeps who are way old to be driving, and/or should have to undergo mandatory testing past a certain age, and I heard on radio show that if one “bribes” one’s MD, this “professional” will sign off that it’s OK to renew license. Lovely! ๐Ÿ˜ก

DRINK WINE DAY–okay, I think I will! ๐Ÿ˜€ Well, maybe later with dinner since Sis and hubby gave us an invite and said it may include wine. Heh!

I have had a wine hangover…so not good. Yes, I had the wine flu, for probably 3 days. That was actually a good thing, because I remembered how bad I felt and made a choice not to get to that point ever again. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Red wine makes my cheeks really red and ears too, I think it might be the sulfites in it but I don’t even know what those are, so….that’s what I’ve been told.

Beautiful day here, very sunny and cool. Calling for temps in the 70’s this week ๐Ÿ˜ฎ with lots of rain….so this must be the beginning of mud season!

Hi all! Hmm, just looking at what to do with 2 bottles of wine from Christmastime. I think theyโ€™re both red, so Iโ€™ll save them for summertime sangria. I like fruity wine.

A fast moving snowstorm came through last night & dumped around 6โ€ of light, fluffy snow. Itโ€™s windy but sunny, a typical winter day here in Jersey! Like KZ, temps here are on the rise, with rain and mud to follow.

    Iโ€™m watching the Daytona 500.

Well, you probably remember that a week or two ago, a 90-year-old driver killed a woman in her 40s and very severely injured her small child, in St-Laurent, a northwestern borough. This happened in a shopping centre parking lot, where drivers are supposed to be going very slowly.

Here in MTL, disabled people, including people disabled by frailties of age, are entitled to take adapted taxis for a fare equivalent to the cost of a mรฉtro/bus ticket for their age group. A neighbour has that entitlement, and it is working very well for him. He has a degenerative disease (similar to MS, but much rarer) and goes to swim early in the morning every single day at the Y and at a rehab centre. There is no reason for many of them to keep on driving. The transport pass can be used by workers with a disability as well.

Edited to add, Yes “wine flu” is a postive, as are bags under the eyes, signals from the body not to overdo it.

Good morning all from a hot humid Monday. This heat is being funneled in from TC Gita and will be followed by gales and heavy rain. thankfully not in my area so much but that means someone else will be getting all the nastiness and it is an area that is just beginning to recover from the previous ex TC Fehi that hit 18 days ago. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
Love the fine whiner and bad influence and mousy flavour pics. ๐Ÿ˜† ๐Ÿ˜†
KJ, yay back to normality at the gym – or is it. Hope all goes well with the new ‘posh’ renovations.
We had new cardio equipment installed recently and I discovered the wee cooling fans on the treadmills actually work. ๐Ÿ™‚
Wine hangover, don’t think I ever had one back when I used to have a wine, now and ouzo hangover is a different story. That was epic ! ! ๐Ÿ˜• ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ˜ณ and a on time only thing believe me. Anyhoo I almost never drink alcohol now but this hot hot Summer has driven me to an ice cold shandy during the evening. Very refreshing.
Hmmmmmmm the format hasn’t phased me yet but then again I’ve seen so many different formats over the years I’ve been visiting. I’ll see how it goes but can’t see any insurmountable problems with it.
Lagatta, the red wine headache is a real condition and not imagined as many non sufferers believe.
“Red wine headache (“RWH”) is a headache often accompanied by nausea and flushing that occurs after consuming red wine in susceptible individuals. White wine headaches have been less-commonly reported. Dr. Frederick G. Freitag, a headache specialist and associate professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin, believes red wine headaches are likely linked to tyramine and tannins in wine.[1] Dan L. Keiller, president of the Medical Wine Interest and Education Society, reports that histamine in wine may be a cause as well.”
KJ had to LOL at beer tasting like shampoo and was tempted to ask why you drink your shampoo but I won’t. Oops. I don’t like hoppy or bitter tasting beer and I prefer the low alcohol % beer too.
I get so frustrated seeing people driving while on their phones. It is illegal here but the fine at $80 isn’t big enough to discourage people from still doing it.
KZ, you listened to your body during your wine flu episode and made a positive decision. Well done. Nothing wrong with moderation. Oh the red cheeks thing with red wine, I used to get that too, I never checked my ears.
    JJ, mmmmm sangria.
The clock is back/still on the ‘site wide activity/recent activity’ page.
Yikes rain radar show rain approaching and I have washing on the line. Gotta fly.

MS, I do see clock, but I still can’t comment on Star Kit without “jumping through hoops”. I sent KM some screen shots of what I’m seeing as per his request.

I will not be moving to the “posh” locker room. No way that I’m paying lots of xtra $$$ for wood decor, a sauna that I will not use, towels when I can easily bring one from home and throw it in my own washer, a room with couches and free coffee when I have a very well-appointed place and better coffee. And my point in going to gym is to workout and for socialization which I get in droves! ๐Ÿ™‚ I will be upgrading to a larger locker where I can store my shoes and duplicates of all my beauty stuff that I have at home, plus first-aid stuff and xtra gym gear, in the event that I forget socks/tights/T.

I do not customarily drink shampoo, but on occasion get a taste as I wash my hair in bthrm sink and on occasion it drips.

Lagatta that horrifying accident is what I was thinking of. Problem is that many seniors are not aware of their incapacity to drive and will intensely resist any attempt to take away their licences. They seem to equate driving with independence, which I can understand, but not when lives are at risk. I have been involved in this situation and ultimately won, but it was extremely unpleasant. And have heard of similar situation from others. Very troubling. And some time back I was nearly hit by a way elderly man who seemed to lack all cognition of a stop sign.
