We all know that famous holiday drink, Eggnog! The term was first used in 1775 and printed in 1788. Eggnog may have developed from posset, a Medieval European beverage made with hot milk that curdled up when mixed with wine or ale and was then flavored with spices. For me, it tastes best with rum. If kits did get into the non-alcoholic drink it won’t kill them. However, the eggs and milk aren’t the best either.

“Fog-drams in the morn,
or better still egg-nogg.
At night hot-suppings,
and at mid-day, grogg.
My palate can regale”

It’s the day before the big event. I hope Mr. AV and son made it home to be their family-furries and all.

Morning all! I can’t really say I like egg nog, I’m not sure I’ve ever had it. I don’t relish the thought of raw eggs, but know you can make it without that so…I might like it!

Back to wrapping more presents, doing laundry and getting ready for the snow that should hit this afternoon! Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate and Happy Holidays to the rest of you!. I am grateful for each and every one of you!!

Yes, I’d much rather have those two cuddly kittens than eggnog. I’ve had it but didn’t like it. And I’m allergic to cow’s milk, just as cats are…

I’d rather have the rum or brandy as a spike in some black coffee… 😎

Hi all – I like eggnog, in small doses. I’ve got these nifty red glass punch cups that are just right. Purrhaps later I’ll have a glass of eggnog and rum.

Love the kitty with his deer buddy watching the news! (Get it, deer buddy? Heh.)

Hubby is feeling better today; he’s graduated from crackers to dry toast. Mama Cat made an appearance to come in for a snack and a pat on the head yesterday, and I managed to get a collar back on her. Let’s see how long it stays on!

Today is dry after a rainy Saturday, and Winter Storm Ethan will move in later this evening. A dusting of snow would add a nice festive touch!

PG, are you wretchedly distressed that this person unfriended you? Didn’t think so. Another reason why KJ has not entered FB-land. I’m very opinionated and forthcoming and it would not be an ideal place for me.

JJ, good that hubby is feeling better. Hope that the kits are treating him well. 😉

OK, so I’m trying eggnog for the first time ever! Now kosher eggnog seems like a nomz oxymoron, but when I just saw it at supermarket I HAD to buy it. I’m using it instead of cream in coffee, although I did add a bit of French vanilla cream as topper. Then sprinkled on some cinnamon and nutmeg and tasted a bit like a fancy café. No rum, though.

Someone brought kosher Xmas cookies to Knitting Circle, another nomz oxymoron, I did not try them, too green and pink for my liking.

Just got back from gym where it was DIY spin workout. They have this new thing where one’s metrics are displayed on a screen. Now I can opt my bike out, but it changes the class vibe and some of us don’t like it at all. Anyway sometime this week I have a de facto invite to discuss my views with Associate Director. As per usual everyone complains to me and I’m the only oe who actually does anything. It’s not a deal breaker but the spin classes were not “broke” and don’t need fixing. *Sigh*

Good evening all – made some chocolate chip cookies and some sugar cookies. Along with the brownies I made the other day and the frozen Oreo pudding pie it looks like dessert is covered. Of course I had to test them…

It’s started to snow here in Jersey. It’s so quiet and dark out, very soothing.

Happy Christmas eve all! Mr. AV and Son are an hour out, its been a nightmare trip, but 3 breakdowns, a truck swap out, and then driving 27 hrs straight thru, they’ll be here around midnight!! Thanks for all the prayers and tdk white lights, they are a powerful force!
