There are more types of nuts in the world than most people realize, and many of these are used for food products. Did you know that the flavor in your cola originally came from the Kola Nut and not the Koala Bear? ๐Ÿ˜† From ages past many high fat, high-protein tree seeds have served as a major source of winter survival. Their natural ability to be stored and resist decay throughout the winter has made them a valuable resource for animals and humans alike. The most important nut of all is…coffee.

It’s Sunday and Am. football. I didn’t congrat JJ’s Giants for winning last weekend. We were planning to see “Only the Brave” about the crack shot fire team in 2013 but given the wildfires in California, I think it may be to sad.

    Cya and have a happy~

I do like PB/honey sammie – but only with the crunchy all-natural PB.

OK…LOL, at the nutella cat, poor thing. You know I’ve never tasted Nutella. I guess they try and tout it as being healthy, but read recently that it’s very NOT healthy, as in high fat. Well, at least that’s ONE thing I don’t have to worry about not eating. ๐Ÿ˜†

Beautiful day here, Mr. KZ is still shelling corn. Our nice days will be coming to an end come tomorrow–expecting rain and very much colder temperatures, only the low 50’s for the rest of the week for highs. JJ, just fair warning as it seems we get it about a day before you do!

KZ, I’ve never tried Nutella as a bread spread, as I’d prob find it too rich-tasting. But I did find some cookie packets with Nutella filling and they are very good!

Think that we’re expecting similar weather in my n’hood. Not a huge prob as I’m anticipating wearing sweaters, booties and leather jackets for a bit before real cold kicks in.

On way to gym I did the seasonal thing as in Fall! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Fortunately I keep bandages and sanitizer in my bag. And at gym I stash instant ice packs, ace bandage and arnica. So more or less took care of it. Yup another bruise will result. Think that I was more concerned about the blood on my tights and skirt from a teensy cut. Washer took care of that.

Now applied more ice for a bit. Off to do some work. Not due ’til Tues., but I feel like it. was not going to charge for this project, but it’s long enough that by rights I should get paid, anyway I asked and the and was yes! L8R.

I have tasted Nutella, and it is tasty – but not only high UNHEALTHY fats, but also very high in sugar. It is junk food – a fraud to call it healthy.

Ick! Nutella, peanutbutter, or any simblense thereof ….. no offense to anyone, I’m just not about that texture and have zero pallet for anything even remotely on the sweet side. My nut, is salty boiled peanuts ….. I sent MS some long years back, and she and KK were brave enough to try them! Don’t know if they liked them, but a pitcher of KOTSW helps! Lol

I do buy some natural peanut butter, but it is mostly to make Southeast Asian and African sauces for noodles and other dishes. Idem walnuts etc.

The nut I consume the most by far is the coffee nut. I don’t drink cola or other sweet bevvies.

I doubt cats eat nuts at all…

Lol lagatta! I too am a big coffee fan ! I do not drink any soda, my only other bev is pure cranberry juice ….. it’s bitter, but I like it!

I love coffee too! No offence taken AV, as I can’t stand anything salty or spicy. Or any sort of melon. Or (here we totally agree) bananas. No meat or chicken either.

There’s a lot of unhealthy food abounding – else fast food joints would not do business. But the wee Nutella filled cookies are nice esp when crumbled into fr. yogurt.

Hi all – Ah yes, chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Comet’s actually done that! Thanks PG, they finally won a game!

We all know that cat is staring at a wormhole, right?

People seem to either like Nutella or don’t, depending on one’s liking of hazelnuts and chocolate. I like it, and keep the store brand version in my cupboard. I like putting it on fresh strawberries.

AV, your nuts and a pitcher of KOTSW sounds good!

Oh no, KJ, a fall! Hope the bruise isn’t too bad and doesn’t bother you too much. It’s good that you are prepared.

Yep, beautiful day today but it looks to change later tomorrow. I spent the afternoon at baby Tyler’s First birthday party!

Tks JJ, knee is a bit achy but the fact that I only took my Tylenol right after fall as a “preventative” should indicate that it’s not all that bad. I bruise/bleed easily and my legs look like c**p. Thank goodness for tights! And I was wearing low-heeled loafers. But I was rushing. A car stopped to see if I was OK. Now this doesn’t happen often. I guess my nightly Epsom Salts soak should help too.

Gad it gets dark early! And in about 2 wks when we change the time it will be dark by like 5-ish! As for it being brighter out in the early am I care not at all. ๐Ÿ™„

    Good morning all.

Well it is a public holiday today and the weather is awful, raining and c c c c cold and heavy rain on the way with possible thunder storms. HRH Shadz has given up looking out the door willing the rain to stop and headed upstairs to bed. I am just uttering around the house doing bits and pieces here and there. Mr MS is working.
I love nuts, in fact I just ate my weeks supply of almonds lastnight ๐Ÿ™ so I will have to ration strictly my Brazil nuts. I don”t eat any nutty spreads though, too rich for me.
KZ, it’s so cold here I am thinking of lighting the fire, our weather patterns seem to be on a par at the moment.
KJ, oh no ! ! You need training wheels to prevent you falling. I guess it’s just a normal hazard in your climate and in the city though and there;s no way you can go round wearing padding like ice hockey players. Arnica cream on any unbroken skin.
Lagatta I totally agree with you on the Nutella and like spreads, so unhealthy yet passed off as healthy just because it has natural nuts in it. No mention of all the fats and sugars in them unless you read and understand the nutritional panel on the product.
AV, we think alike on nutty spreads. Yes KK and I tried the boiled peanuts and I know I liked them but I can’t remember if KK did.
Today’s nut theme has made me decide to make a banana walnut loaf for Mr MS’s lunches. The walnuts are from his brothers tree.

Cats liking nuts? I was once owned by a b&w female, Apple Blossom (she was NOT a lady! I found her on a building site and I think she learned her language from listening to the workers) who liked smoked almonds. And gingernut biscuits. And sultanas. And mice, but she’d leave the heads in the middle of the kitchen floor.

The Nutella cat reminds me of a childhood white cat, Boris, who once s/t/o/l/e drank a large quantity of tomato soup.

MS: that’s Oscar on the rotary clothesline. He used it as a shortcut from the shed roof to the house roof, and taught his friend Theodore to do the same. He fell off only once that I saw.

PM, Oscar is a very smart cat to use the clothesline as a shortcut and teach Theodore to do the same.
We had a dog and cat who loved canned button mushrooms, I dropped one by accident and it was snaffled up immediately and whenever I opened a can I would be pestered by them for a small mushroom each. The dog also loved my homemade pickled onions. Whoa talk about oniony dog breath ! ! ๐Ÿ™‚
I had to LOL at your description of Apple Blossom not being a lady and why. OMG ! hickory smoked almonds are seriously good tasting and our dog liked those too.

I had a friend who originally liked Nutella, but then he read up on it. I suppose the trigger was that he was about to be a dad. Not that he or his wife are opposed to an occasional indulgent treat, but it had been marketed as a “healthy” breakfast food for kids, which was just wrong.

I really like nuts of all kinds, and like peanut butter too, the all natural stuff these days. They make it much better now without all the oil sitting on top. I have two large hickory trees right outside my window that I feed the birds on…they leave nuts everywhere. I have picked them up, and tried to harvest a few, but they have bugs in them sometimes which creeps me out. The chipmunks and squirrels love them….but don’t go walking around by the trees and not watch where you walk–it’s like walking on marbles–quite dangerous!!

Well I think that I am going to go to bed at the early hour of very soon. But first must play with Dorry/red dot/red feather for a few.

In keeping with today’s theme I was going to crumble some nutella-filled cookies into mix of various flavours of fr yogurt/ice cream, but have opted for some dark coco cookies instead. Decisions, decisions!

I think knee is better as I was able to get in some high heel practice. By this I mean practicing walking around in my new almost 4″ block heels which I plan to wear on Thursday.I sanded down the heels a bit to make them less slippery. Plan B would be to take them with me and do srs walking in lower heels. More decisions. Night all!

KZ,I was fascinated with the idea of hickory nuts. The only thing I know about hickory is it makes great handles for tools like axes and imparts a wonderful flavour to nuts. I had to look hickory nuts up and see they are like smooth walnuts but with very thick shells. It’s a weevil that gets in
to lay eggs when the nut is forming that develops into the pesky worms. What do the good nuts taste like?
