Good Monday morning all.
BBQ season has pretty much finished here with it being late Autumn and Daylight Saving over for six months.
Multipurpose but um no, not for me thanks.
Just had a big surprise, Shadz caught a sparrow and brought it inside. I had to take it from her and the poor wee thing was mortally injured and passed away in my hands. 😥 I has a sad. It may have been a common sparrow but it was a life that is no longer. Shadz was scolded. It has been some years since she has caught a bird and all I can think is that the approaching cold weather triggered some message that it was time to put on Winter bulk which she has finally doing in the last couple of weeks. She is well on the way to becoming HRH Butterball after being the thinnest ever this Summer. Guess I can’t argue with natural instincts but I can let her know of my displeasure.
PFG, love the pics, especially the four gingers calling for their favourite foods. That last one must be Shadz in disguise though. LOL at the redneck bbq, I posted one too.
Hi Deb, glad you are feeling at least half way decent, hope that means you are on the ascent for how you feel. Thanks for the links, lovely story about Miss Clawdette. Please ignore the anti-cat comments, they happen since a self important wealthy man has taken it upon himself to decide that cats should be eradicated here. Yeah right Gareth, that’s not going to happen here, we love our cats in NZ. Loved the hummingbird vid that was on one of them.
KZ, your dinner has made me feel hungry, I am so wanting Brussels sprouts but it’s too early, they need frost on them to sweeten them first and we have still been getting temps of about 20C during the day.
AV, that sucks monkey toes about the car not starting, I hope it is a quick fix.
JJ, the ‘grillin parka’ sound like a great idea. Hope the new pea fence is easy to install. Well that was unfluffy of someone to say something not nice about your outdoor crew.
KJ, sorry about the ‘drama; at the gym, all very disruptive I am sure.
ECB, interesting comments about BBQ-grill etc. Here we call it BBQing, I hadn’t heard of grilling until some TV programmes from the US were shown here. Smoking meats as in your description is not something that is really done here. So we cook food on the bbq and call it bbqing. Just to confuse things when daughter Airy was living in LA she had to ask what broiling was as her oven had a broil function but no grill. Seems it’s called broiling in the US and grilling here when you use the top element only of the oven to brown the top of something.
Wow BB, the weather really doesn’t know what to do at your place. Squeeee a baby squirrel.
Ice for BB and JJ, who is next I wonder.
Odd weather here today, definitely cooler and going from overcast to briefly sunny and now drizzling with rain and possible thunder later. Off to find something warm for lunch.
