Hello everyone. I still like to visit The Daily Kitten even though it makes me miss our cats. There are so many cute kittens on here!
It’s been really strange here with no cats to feed or worry about escaping out the door behind us. As you all may know we had to put Tyger down in July due to health issues. He was our baby we got as an 8 week old kitten. His 13 years with us were good as much as he was one of those cats most people would have dumped. His bathroom habits were always an issue, and he was never the type to come sit in your lap.
Then our adopted stray, Lilly, who we never knew how old she was, just dropped dead one morning about a month ago. That was strange as she was playful and active right up to her passing. We figured she would be around for several more years. She was the perfect lap cat who loved to sit in your lap and get petted. She had the loudest purr of any cat I know. She was always a lady with perfect habits. I remember the day she got locked in the upstairs bedroom. When I got home and couldn’t find her I finally opened the door to have her dash all the way to the litter box. Never saw a cat run that fast!
Well, memories will never replace them, but will always be with us. The vet took plaster paw prints of both and sent them to us. I plan to make a frame to display them with a picture of each cat.
I donated all of our kitty stuff to the local SPCA shelter. That was hard, kind of the final goodbye knowing we won’t use those things again. There was one cat there who looked a bit like Lilly, but it’s just too soon.
Our only pet now is our tropical aquarium with several fish. Lilly loved to watch them.
Anyway, I’ll be around occasionally to see all of the pretty kitties here! Thanks to all for this nice site and sharing stories about cats.

Aww, I know you must miss them. I loved reading their stories….especially Lilly running to the “bathroom”….too cute.

It must be very hard for you! Here, we truly understand, also how it hurts to see kitties. Please come back when/if you are ready and take good care. KJ

I’m sorry you are catless. It is so very difficult but you know Tyger and Lily are romping in the meadow. My gang of furballs send warm fuzzies to you.

So sorry for the loss of your babies. Hopefully soon when you think of them it won’t be as painful, but bring happy tears instead. Truly here at TDK we understand how devastating a loss it can be. (((hugs)))

Our furkits snuggle into our hearts and their leaving hurts but that warm spot in our hearts is there forever.
You will find there will be a right time to adopt another cat and the fish will be feline entertainment again. Experience taught me to not leave it too long though.

Can’t really find the words right now. I am glad you still like to come here to admire the kittens and join conversations.
In case I didn’t mention it, I am making a donation so Tyger and Lilly will contribute to brightening the lives of shelter cats in the form of bright white lights on the holiday tree at my hometown shelter.
Funny about Lilly making a mad dash after being locked in the room!
When and if you are ready, a cat or kitten will find you.
    Wishing you peace.

Thanks everyone for your concern and warm wishes. We spent some time over the Thanksgiving weekend with family and their animals. I know that one day we’ll find a new pet when the time is right. Son wants a dog now but not ready for that commitment. As much as he says he’ll do the cleaning and feeding I know who will end up with that chore- ME!
Joan from New Jersey- a BIG Thank You for your donation at the shelter, adding lights for the shelter kitty’s! Such a kind action for kitties you never meet except through here. Peace to you.
