Hi I’ve got an almost 3 week old kitten that we have been raising for a week. She’s going well with feeding and stimulation and she has double weight in the last week. I’m concerned about her eyes because always she has sleep in them, since we found her and her eyes are not watery. Should I be concerned just that I’m worried about her getting sick.

She could have an upper respiratory infection, which usually shows up as watery crusty or goopy eyes first. A vet visit would help relieve your anxiety and if she needs medication, the vet can prescribe it.

it sounds like the feline herpes like my cats have. they may need eye drops but they really need l-lysine. this comes as a powder that you add to a little bit of wet food. We bought the lysine at the vet last year for almost $50. when i needed more this year for our 4 rescued kittens i bought it on amazon for $23. it is the same brand and dosage, the vet tried to tell me that its not the same so i pulled up the description and showed him and he was like ok you’re right. it has a tiny scoop in it and until the kitten is 6 month old they get a half scoop twice a day. for 1 cat the jar lasts for over a year and i even started putting it in food for the outside cats which means that my rescue kits in the house were treated with the lysine in utero which i can tell helped them not manifest the URI as bad as stormy had it last year. these kits eyes have cleared up in less than 1 month and i no longer have to wipe the sleep out of their eyes multiple times a day maybe once or twice a week. good luck
