This morning at about 3:17 AM, I awoke to screams from Ruggles. He was standing at the end of my bed, yowling his little lungs out at a pitch that only bats and I could hear.

I snapped on the light in a panic and grabbed him, petting and soothing that sweet little flufferboy while Rotley blinked and glared from my other pillow.

30 seconds later, Ruggles was calm and purring, snuggled against me with his eyes drooping. He woofled a few times and then off to slumberland in my arms.

45 seconds after the initial screams, he was sound asleep.

Rotley fell asleep about 15 minutes later.

I was awake for the rest of the day.

    Sooooo, how was your night?

What is a Mom for Emma! They are there to take away the scary things that go bump in the night–or Ruggles case at 3am–and make it all better!! Sleep is over-rated! Hope tonight Ruggles does better and Rotley should snuggle with him–a kitteh pile up!

See I am jealous–I had to ban the cats from me at night. They want to sleep in my face. My allergy to them prohibits this–too many times my husband hears me struggling to breathe and brings my my breathing treatment. I do have my baby puppy that sleeps next to my side of the bed and the dachshund on my husbands side, but that is as close as any animal is at night. Let’s face it, cuddling with a kitten not only protects them from things that go bump in the night, but us as well 😉

Maybe he was having the same dream as this doggie:

Oh poor sweet Ruggles, Meowmy cuddled and kissed the nasty dream away.

Emma, my wry sense of humour couldn’t help but LOL at your wording “at a pitch that only bats and I could hear.” Sorry I had an instant image of you suspended by your feet from the ceiling fan like a bat.

Did I say wry? Maybe that should have been weird.

LOL @ Emma, and I love MS’s visual! ……………. how IS it that they can have ‘scary’ dreams/things and then falll blissfully back asleep, whilst us hoomans are then relagated to the ‘dawn’ patrole?

    NOT FAIR!
