Remy will be put to sleep on monday… he isn’t doing well at all. I can’t watch him suffer anymore.

Thank you all for your kind words and support.

Is the vet sure he can’t do anything more for Remy? The last I read was that he was carrying the virus but hadn’t been diagnosed with FIP.

There is no cure, if that’s what he has, and it’s a nasty disease that causes a lot of suffering, so releasing him is the right thing to do. But maybe the vet has another trick up his sleeve and some other meds might help.

I pray that Remy will turn around and be able to stay with you, but I know you have to make the right decision if he is suffering and can’t be helped.

    Oh no!!! I’m so sorry!

If he’s suffering and there’s no hope, you’re doing the right and kind thing for the little guy. Godspeed, little Remy.

I’m so, so sorry. It is heartbreaking to lose a wee one. I think GD is right. I hope you can find some comfort in how much he has been loved and cherished in his short life, and how much he loves you.

Remy developed FIP? I am so sorry- it is a nasty disease. And this is your first kitten experience, too? It doesn’t really get easier when you have more and older cats, though. Take time to grieve; it’s been over a year since we said goodbye to Zappo and I still tear up when I think of him…

Rest assured that if Remy has FIP there is nothing that you could have done differently that would have changed the outcome, and remember that at least you made sure that his seven months of life were spent being loved in a home rather than in a bare shelter cage.

Aww, special thoughts and prayers as sweet Remy joins our furry family & friends in the Meadow under the care of the Wolf.

Godspeed, little Remy. Enjoy the Meadow. Have fun with the Kitten Pack, and let Mama Cat wash you when she wants to; she likes doing that.

Marz, may your heart heal and the pain decrease until memories of Remy bring a smile instead of a tear. God’s comfort to you.

You are doing the right thing for him. FIP is the nastiest, cruelest disease I have ever seen in cats. I’m so sorry for your loss.
