I have 5 two month old kittens and they’ve had diarrhea since before I got them. Two of them have been so bad that their anuses have swollen. And they’re not quite making it to the litter box before it starts coming out. I’ve been feeding them dry and wet food mixed. I can’t figure out why they haven’t been having solid stools by now. I have been putting Vaseline on them to help with soreness. I’m also cleaning tushies more and more everyday. Anyone have any suggestions ???

From what I’ve read, canned pumpkin (but with no additives!) can be quite helpful for diarrhea as it’s rich in fiber and helps form the stool. I hope someone with more experience comes along to say in what amounts it should be given. In the meantime, here’s more links on the topic of diarrhea:

It’s also important to keep the kittens well hydrated as they lose a lot of fluids via the diarrhea. So make them drink more water, and try adding pedialyte which will make up for lost electrolytes, here you can find more info:

Since you say this has been going on for a while, I think it’d be best to take the kits to the vet for a thorough checkup!

Have you taken them to the vet?
